FUN FACT:The Julie Jamison/Harry Constable story was the first plot devised for Edge by writer Henry Slesar.

TRIVIA:This was actress Millette Alexander's third and final role on The Edge of Night.

To distinguish herself from the previous character of Laura, Miss Alexander wore a long, platinum blonde wig and spoke with a Southern accent.

An accomplished pianist in real life, Millette Alexander actually performed live in Julie's musical scenes.

SPOUSES

Lloyd Hubbard
Julie had been married to the abusive Lloyd Hubbard prior to her arrival in Monticello. Although she thought they were divorced, Lloyd stunned her with the news that the divorce had never been finalized. Lloyd used Julie to further his own career as a musician and abused her both physically and mentally. During a violent altercation, Lloyd knocked Julie unconscious. When she awoke, he had been murdered. Julie was led to believe that she committed the crime.

Orin Hillyer
Initially, Julie had no romantic interest in Orin. Julie was uncomfortable with her resemblence to Orin's late wife Laura, and fought Harry Constable's scheme to swindle money from the Hillyers. Julie thought that Orin was a nice man and didn't want to hurt him. In time, she actually fell in love with him. They married on Valentine's Day 1968. Eventually Julie realized that Orin loved her for herself, not because she resembled Laura.

LEGAL HISTORY:
Bart Fletcher framed Julie for the murder of her husband Lloyd Hubbard in January 1968. Although the crime was initially concealed, Julie's "involvement" was later exposed during the Harry Constable murder trial.

Julie was arrested for the stabbing death of Harry Constable in June 1968. She jumped bail and fled Monticello. While a fugitive from justice, Julie was kidnapped by the Buchanans.

In August 1968, Julie went on trial for Harry's murder. The jury ultimately found her guilty, and she was sentenced to be hanged the morning of December 24, 1968. Adam Drake uncovered the real killer just in time to exonerate Julie, saving her from the noose.

MEDICAL HISTORY:
Julie was kidnapped by Lolly and Sandy Buchanan in the Summer of 1968. The Buchanans worked with mobster Frank Loomis, who thought he could get a sizeable ransom from Orin. Julie became ill, suffering from a high fever. Later, under Loomis' instructions, the Buchanans drugged Julie's food and water to keep her quiet. When Adam Drake got close to finding her, Sandy forced Julie to take a fatal drug overdose. She was discovered in time and fully recovered.

Julie received mortal injuries in the crash of her private plane on December 15, 1971, near Milan, Italy. She died six days later.
