SPOUSES
Duane Stewart
Nicole and Duane were married sometime in the early 1960's. They were already divorced when Nicole arrived in 1968. Duane followed her shortly afterward, setting off a chain of violence with his new wife Pamela Stewart.
Adam Drake
Nicole met Adam through Mike and Nancy Karr. They loathed one another at first, but when Adam successfully defended Nicole for the murder of Stephanie Martin, they slowly fell in love. Their relationship was often impeded by external forces, usually of the murder and mayhem kind, though Adam's confirmed bachelorhood blocked their path, too. Adam and Nicole finally married on August 31, 1973. The remainder of their relationship was fraught with peril. Unfortunately, the couple didn't get a happy ending. Adam was murdered on June 17, 1977.
Miles Cavanaugh
Dr. Miles Cavanaugh treated Nicole for a difficult pregnancy following her kidnapping by Clay Jordan. Vis-a-vis her relationship with Adam, Nicole and Miles faced constant threats from the people around them. They married on March 5, 1979, and remained happy until Nicole's death four years later.
PERILS
Stephanie Martin
Stephanie Martin worked as a clerk in McGrath's, Nicole's dress shop, and although she pretended to be a good friend, she was actually Nicole's worst enemy. Stephanie's husband and daughter had been killed in an accident arranged by Nicole's father Ben Travis. Although Travis was imprisoned for the crime, Stephanie sought revenge against Nicole, too. Among her crimes: stalking Nicole, sending poisoned chocolates and spiders, and an attempted shooting.
Pamela Stewart
Pamela arrived in Monticello with Nicole's ex-husband Duane Stewart. Nicole had no interest in her former spouse, but an insanely jealous Pamela decided to eliminate any possible competition. She attempted to stab Nicole one night at McGrath's dress shop but inadvertently killed Stephanie Martin by mistake, resulting in Nicole's arrest and trial for Stephanie's murder.
Jake Berman
After her break-up with Adam, Nicole went to work as a secretary for attorney Jake Berman. She had no idea he was actually a psychopath who had murdered his wife Edith and planned to make Nicole wife #2.
Ben Travis
Nicole attempted a reconciliation with her estranged father upon his release from prison. Unbeknownest to her, Ben's release was engineered by the Mob. Crimelord Walter LePage wanted to stop Adam Drake's senatorial bid. He placed Ben Travis and male "nurse" Morlock Sevingy in the Drake home to accomplish the task. Ben didn't want to harm his daughter, but feared for his own life. After a couple of failed attempts on Adam's life, a bomb was placed on the Drake's honeymoon yacht The Sprite. Ben tried to warn Nicole of the impending danger, but it was to no avail. The bomb detonated, and Nicole was presumed dead for nearly two years.
Claude Revenant
Following her presumed death-at-sea, Nicole was actually being held captive on Limbo Island, a secret Caribbean hideout of criminal Claude Revenant. Nicole eventually escaped, but it set off a chain reaction of violence. Fearing she could disclose the exact location of his island, Revenant hired a parade of assassins to eliminate Nicole. When they all failed, he came to Monticello, intent on completing the job himself.
Clay Jordan
In Paris, Clay Jordan treated Nicole's amnesia after her escape from Limbo Island and Claude Revenant. Jordan followed Nicole back to Monticello, pretending to be her friend. As it turned out, he had actually been hired by enemies of Claude Revenant...enemies who'd do anything to learn the location of Limbo Island. Clay finally kidnapped a pregnant Nicole and continuously injected her with sodium pentathol.
Denise Cavanaugh
A difficult pregnancy brought Nicole to The Clairmont Hospital. While under the care of Dr. Miles Cavanaugh, Nicole became the victim of Miles' demented wife Denise. Although the Cavanaugh marriage had long been dead, Denise blamed Nicole and attempted to knock her off with sleeping pills in a bottle of wine.
Wade Meecham
Blackmailer Wade Meecham worked with Nicole at WMON-TV. He and co-conspirator Margo Dorn plotted to destroy Nicole's engagement to Miles Cavanaugh. While on a business trip to Chicago, Wade drugged Nicole and made an incriminating videotape of them together.
Winter Austen
Winter Austen was not only Nicole's co-worker at WMON-TV, she was also a victim of Wade Meecham's blackmail. Winter shot Wade but managed to get an acquittal from the jury. When Nicole unwittingly discovered proof of Winter's guilt, Winter trapped Nicole in the TV studio, attempting to stab her. They fought on a high catwalk; Winter fell to her death.
Nora Fulton
Nasty Nora Fulton arrived as an executive secretary to Nicole. She was actually a former girlfriend to Gunther Wagner and believed that Nicole's husband Miles was partially responsible for Wagner's death. Nora launched many nefarious schemes before her death by strangling. Nicole was arrested and nearly tried for the crime.
Stan Hathaway
Stan Hathaway first appeared as Nicole's director at WMON. As it turned out, he'd actually been hired by criminal mastermind Louis Van Dine to get rid of Nicole. Stan tainted Nicole's makeup with an industrial poison and succeeded in killing her.
