ACT ONE
Winter receives a call from Miles who is concerned that she was so upset after Tank attempted to kidnap her then fell to his to death from the roof of her apartment building. Miles reassures Winter that she is not to blame and shouldn't feel guilty. Winter wryly replies that she knows there was nothing she could do for Tank, but she does realize that Tank killed Wade not only because he hated him -he did it because he loved Winter, too. Miles invites her to dinner. Winter declines, admitting that she already has plans to meet Raven Jamison of all people. After ending the call, Winter quietly says to herself, "No, Tank. There was absolutely nothing I could do to help you." She remembers Tank pleading with her, "I'll tell you what you can do, Winter. You can leave this town now... with me."

OPENING TITLE
ACT TWO
Scene One
Winter's apartment.
Winter is overcome with memories of the night she murdered Wade. She recalls being in Tank's apartment after meeting him the bar at The Monticello Arms. She is distraught and asks aloud why she did it. She didn't go to Wade's with the intention of killing him. She only wanted to retrieve the blackmail tape. Tank reminds her that they now have all of Wade's tape -every filthy piece of blackmail in his possession. They can destroy them, and no one will ever have to know of their existence. Winter insists the police won't let her forget. They're probably at her apartment now, waiting to arrest her. Tank says that she doesn't know that for fact. Winter tells him that two women spotted her fleeing Wade's hotel suite immediately after the murder, and even if they didn't actually see her pull the trigger, they must have heard the gunshot. Tank suggests that maybe they hadn't seen her before -they wouldn't know her name. Winter reminds him that they can give a good description of her to the police and eventually they will question her about her involvement with Wade. Tank reminds her that he has a connection to Wade as well. Winter counters that at least he has an alibi. He was across town when the fatal shot was fired. Tank tells that he did go to the hotel, though, later -to get the videotapes. Tank reveals that the hidden video recorder in Wade's bedroom was still running when he arrived, and they realize that Wade must have turned on the mechanism before Winter shot him. Winter asks if he played it, but Tank assures that he didn't. He didn't have time; he wanted to get out of the suite as quickly as possible. Winter tells him that tape must contain footage of her shooting Wade. Although Tank begs her to get out of town immediately, Winter demands that she watch the tape. Tank shows her the $10,000 he found while searching Wade's suite. He suggests that they use it to get out of town, even out of the country. Winter is silent. Tank suggests that she just doesn't want to travel with him. Winter begs again to see the tape. Tank tells her that he doesn't have a tape player, so Winter decides they can go to WMON. It's after 1 a.m., and no one will be there...
Scene Two
Miles and Nicole's house.
Miles tells Nicole that Steve's bullet didn't kill Tank, but it was the leg wound that caused him to lose his balance and fall to his death from the roof of Winter's apartment building. Nicole says that she can't help but feel sorry him. Miles remarks that Tank always told Winter that he'd rather be dead than ever go back to prison. The bad part is that he didn't live long enough to completely resolve the case. Nicole replies that she thought it was resolved. Miles comments that it won't be totally resolved until ballistics can determine if the gun Tank was carrying the night he died was also the same one used to murder Wade. Nicole admits that she liked Tank because he was so eager and enthusiastic about his job. He seemed nice. People are often more complicated than they appear, Miles says; it's often the quiet types who turn into snipers or chop their families up into pieces. Besides, according to Bill Marceau, Tank had an extensive criminal record of larcenies, he was an arsonist, and apparently he was a murderer, too. Nicole jokes that it doesn't say much for her judgment in people, but Miles reminds her that Winter liked Tank, too, and thought he was a decent fellow. Thinking of Tank, Nicole suddenly remembers something that would have helped the investigation. She tells Miles that night before their marriage -the same day Wade was killed- she was working late at WMON to complete some work before leaving on their honeymoon, and as she was leaving the studio around 1a.m., she saw Tank arrive and go into the building.

ACT THREE
Scene One
Miles and Nicole continued.
Nicole reveals that Tank had a key to the building -everyone who works late does- and there's no security guard after midnight. Miles asks if they spoke, but Nicole says that Tank probably never even saw her. She only caught a glimpse of him as she was driving away. Miles suggests that in all likelihood, Tank was there to create the chromakeyed videotape that almost sent Winter to prison, but fortunately, he didn't do a very good job it.
DISSOLVE TO:
Scene Two
Winter's apartment.
Winter remembers being at WMON with Tank later the same night Wade was killed. Tank asks Winter if she's absolutely sure she wants to view the tape. She insists she does. Tank turns on the tape player, and a frozen Winter watches the TV monitor in which the scene of her firing the gun and shooting Wade plays, every moment of the crime captured on tape. Winter says she's seen enough -more than enough. Tank tells her that they have to destroy the tape; it can send her to jail. A despondent Winter remarks that it won't do any good; her life is over, and even though she hasn't been caught yet, she surely will be. Too many people saw her in the hotel. Tank urges to get out of town while she still has time, but Winter insists she can't live like that -always on the run. Tank shows her the manuscript that Wade was writing about his life as a pornographer and points out that it mentions Margo. Perhaps the police will think she killed Wade. Winter shoots down his theory stating that Margo probably has an alibi, and anyway, she wasn't seen in Wade's suite. Winter breaks down, crying that she has ruined everything. She insists that she didn't mean to kill Wade, but when he taunted her about having copies of the blackmail tape, she realized that she'd never be free from him unless he was dead. She couldn't help but pull the trigger. Winter plays the murder scene over again on the TV monitor. Tank begs her to get rid of the tape right now because it's existence can't help Winter. But Winter suddenly has an idea. She tells Tank that tape may help after all. What if it was a fake? What would people think if they knew it was deliberately altered or edited? Wouldn't they think someone was attempting to frame her? And when people are framed, doesn't it mean that they aren't really guilty? Tank doesn't understand her logic. Winter explains that if it appears that someone is deliberately trying to set her up for Wade's murder, then the whole world would believe she was really innocent. Tank asks her who would frame her for the crime. After a long silence, he finally realizes that the police would think he did it. Winter wants it to appear that he killed Wade and set her up. He could do it, though, couldn't he, she asks. He has the techinical knowledge. Tank says that she's already in the picture, so what good would it do? Winter replies that something could be wrong with the picture. Something that people would recognize and realize that she wasn't really there. Tank could edit out the first part of the scene -Wade's shooting- then put her back in the scene by his body. Only, she would look different than the way witnesses would remember seeing her. Winter notices her coat on the chair. That's it! She could be wearing a different coat...

ACT FOUR
Scene One
Raven's apartment.
Geraldine arrives and is surprised to see that Raven isn't even dressed yet. She thought Raven had asked her to babysit for Jamey because her schedule was so incredibly busy. Raven reports that she's reading a fascinating article in the newspaper about Paige Madison and wonders if Geraldine knows her. Geraldine says yes, she's Owen Madison's daughter, and a very naughty one at that. Raven wonders if that's what you a call someone who stole over a million dollars worth of government equipment and theorizes she'll probably get ten years in prison. Geraldine doesn't think so. It was more of an "escapade" than a real crime. Anyway, why is Raven so interested. Raven replies that although Paige was captured in Mexico, she'll actually be tried in Monticello because Owen managed to get a change of venue. Geraldine counters that there may not even be a trial if Paige makes a deal and gets immunity. Raven says that either way, Logan will still be in charge since he's the district attorney. Geraldine warns her that it probably won't help Logan's political career, especially after the Winter Austen fiasco. Raven reveals that there was something missing from the newspaper this morning -it was too late to announce her upcoming marriage to Logan on the society page. Geraldine is estatic to learn that Raven finally convinced Logan to set a date. Raven reveals that they have the license and the blood test, and barring a typhoon or earthquake, they'll be married by the mayor at city hall the day after tomorrow. Geraldine asks why she didn't tell her sooner -give her time to plan somthing more elaborate. Raven insists that they want something small and quiet, after all, she's been a widow less than six months. Geraldine persists. They must do it differently. Raven's mother would be very disappointed to learn Raven was married without all of the trimmings. Geraldine takes charge of the situation. She'll speak to the hotel manager about getting one of the reception rooms for the ceremony, meanwhile Raven must compile a list of a few close friends to invite. Raven agrees, but warns Geraldine that nothing can interfere with her dinner engagement. Geraldine leaves to go speak with the hotel manager, while Raven calls to confirm her meeting with Winter. Winter assures her that she'll be the restuarant at six, but she will not talk about the trial. Raven promises that they'll only speak of happy things.
CUT TO:
Scene Two
Winter's apartment.
Winter remembers watching Tank edit the videotape at WMON. Tank shows her the image of Wade's body on one monitor, while a scene of Winter standing against a solid blue background plays on another. Tank manipulates the controls and suddenly the two scenes are edited into one, with Winter appearing to stand over Wade's body while wearing a different coat than she actually wore the night of the murder. Winter remarks that it's absolutely perfect. Tank tells her that it's so perfect that it will probably get her sent straight to prison. Winter argues that it won't because somebody will realize that she's wearing a different coat, and if they don't, she'll point it out herself. It's foolproof. Tank agrees, but everyone will think he did it. They'll believe that he murdered Wade and then made the tape to frame her. Winter reminds him that he has an alibi. He was across town when the shot was fired and didn't get to the hotel until hour later. Tank finally concedes that he'll do it and asks when should he send the tape to the police. Winter tells him to wait; she wants to see what's going to happen first. In the meantime, he'll just have to go away...
COMMERCIAL BREAK
ACT FIVE
Tank agrees to get rid of the tapes and leave town. Winter makes him realize that it is the only way. If the police were to question him, they might suspect that he and Winter were accomplices in the crime, and besides, he's still wanted for questioning for arson in the Cobble Hill theatre fire. Winter says that maybe they won't even need to use the tape. Perhaps by some miracle she won't be arrested. Winter tells him that she'll never forget him or what he's done to help her. Tank admits that he's doing it for only one reason -it's obvious that he loves her- but he states that she doesn't really care about him, does she? Winter denies it. Tank says that he wishes he could believe her. Winter promises that when it's all over, when she's free, she'll go away with him. There's nothing left for her in Monticello. So, she'll leave with him, and they'll be together forever. Winter's memory suddenly cuts to a vision of Tank dangling from her apartment building roof. As he begs for help, she pries his fingers from the ledge. His sceams echo in her mind as she remembers him falling to his death six stories below.CLOSING CREDITS
