OPENING TITLE CARD

Harry Kramer: The Edggggeee of Night. Brought to you by Tide.

ACT 1--Scene 1

In the Morrissey house, criminals Helen McCabe and Speed Taft are holding the Morrissey's (Daniel, Jean, and Betty) and Ed Gibson hostage. The Morrissey's are tied up, and the criminals are binding Ed, too. Taft goes into Ed's pocket and takes his identification. Taft says that he'll get away with Ed's id. Ed calls him a loser, and Taft punches him.

Scene 2

In a police car outside the Morrissey house, Bill Marceau is on the car phone to Officer Rankin, giving the officer orders. Another officer brings Wilson, a reporter, that he caught snooping around. Marceau lets Wilson stay, but in the background. Rankin calls the Chief...

COMMERCIAL

ACT 2--Scene 1

In the Gibson house, Judy is worried since she heard that Ed was in danger. She is lying on the couch. Louise Capice is there keeping her company. Louise wants to call a doctor for the pregnant Judy, who won't let her. Judy is concerned about Ed.

Scene 2

In the Morrissey house, Taft goes to beat Gibson again. McCabe tries to stop him. She tells him that they have got to move the heroin. They go out to the garage. Ed breaks free from his foot restraints.

Harry Kramer: We will continue with our story in just a moment.

ACT 3--Scene1

In the Morrissey house, Ed finally breaks free from all of his restraints.

Harry Kramer: And now back to The Edggggeee of Night.

ACT 4--Scene 1

In the Morrissey house, Ed unties the Morrissey's and tells them to get out of the house, because when Taft and McCabe return and realize they are free, there will be a lot of shooting. The Morrissey's don't want to leave. They want to help Ed take care of Taft. Ed lets them stay.

Scene 2

In the Morrissey garage, Taft and McCabe continue to pack up the heroin.

Scene 3

In the police car, Marceau gets a call from Rankin saying there is a light on in the garage. The Chief tells him to make sure that it is Taft and to get him. Marceau sends Lt. Segal to check out the situation, too.

Scene 4

In the Morrissey house, Ed makes the Morrissey's stand against a far wall while he climbs up over the garage entrance to await Taft...

ACT 5--Scene 1

As Taft enters the room, Daniel Morrissey lunges at him and grabs his hand. Taft fights him off as Gibson jumps him. Taft and Gibson fight. They throw punches and wrestle for Taft's gun. Taft throws Gibson over a bannister down on to the couch. When he tries to get away with the gun in his hand, Taft loses his balance and falls into a wall. The gun goes off, and Ed is hit. He falls off the couch...

Scene 2

In the police car, Chief Marceau hears the shot from within the house. Rankin calls and says that shots have been fired. We hear shots in the background. Rankin then describes the scene as Taft leaves the house, gets into the getaway car, and flees the scene. Marceau and another officer jump out of the car, crouch behind the open doors for shielding, and draw their guns. We see the oncoming headlights from Taft's getaway car. Marceau and the police open fire, letting off a barrage of gunfire. We see Taft escaping in the car. The windshield is breaking with each shot fired by the police. Taft's body is jerking violently as he is hit repeatedly. The car skids off the road and crashes...

ACT 6--Scene 1

At the crash site, police survey the scene. Marceau tells an officer to call the medical examiner. Bill goes back to the house to see about Ed and the Morrissey's. After Marceau leave, Wilson, the reporter, arrives at the crash site. He retrieves the identification from Taft's pocket, and thinks that Ed Gibson was killed in the car. Wilson runs to a phone.

Scene 2

In the Morrissey house, Bill checks on the hostages. Ed is fine. The bullet just grazed him. Bill informs them that Taft is dead.

Scene 3

At a payphone, Wilson is calling in the story that Edwin Gibson of 1240 Jefferson Avenue and of the Karr and Gibson law firm, has been killed by the police in a shootout. The person at the other end of the line tells Wilson to get a statement from Ed's wife.

Scene 4

At the Gibson home, Judy is telling Louise how worried she is about Ed. The doorbell rings, and Judy answers the door. It's Bart Wilson from the Monticello News. He informs Judy that her husband is dead. Judy screams and faints into Louise's arms.
