Just at that moment, the Charmed Ones were approaching the entrance to the cave. "One more time," Phoebe muttered to her sisters. Putting their hands together as if in a huddle, they repeated again "The power of three will set us free!" and broke.

Prue came through the entrance first. Getting her bearings in a split second, she pushed at the massive demon with all her might. The thing's body shoved over somewhat, but it caught it's balance, braced against the rough floor with a leg that looked like a tree trunk, and not all of Prue's magical strength could move him further. As Piper followed her sister in, she noticed as the Slayer, Buffy, shook off the demon's cold spell and faded into the background.

Prue switched tactics, trying to pull the demon towards her. That worked almost too well... the demon changed the forward momentum into a flying leap, and only a last-second dodge from Prue kept her from being crushed into the rock by the demon's bulk. As they both landed, the fiend scrambled to grab Prue's leg in its impossibly huge claw.

"My turn!" Piper called, and froze time. But the demon was unaffected, and it pulled itself to its feet and moved to a position where it could keep an eye on both witches.

"Ha ha ha," it laughed in its horrendously deep voice. "You cannot use your power on me, Halliwell. Not while I hold your essence." The demon gestured with its hand, showing the talisman. "I can cancel your magic with a thought." Background movement resumed, including Buffy... what was she doing over there? "Artarvi aragna agnt!" the demon chanted, and Piper groaned in resumed pain. "With one more word, I kill you. And there is nothing you can do quickly enough to stop me!"

Yes there is! Prue thought desperately. But what? Her eyes scanned the cave, and fell upon Buffy. She was standing next to a... hey, that just might work!

"...Have you sufferred enough in the knowledge of your own doom?" Komiara was still gloating. Prue girded up all of her inner strength, all of her power, for an effort that would take everything she had... if even all she had would be enough. When the witch knew she was as ready as she'd ever be, she PUSHED the demon again... over towards Buffy, and into the metal plane the Slayer had pried out into a deadly guillotine blade.

Slowly, ever so slowly, it moved over, trying to stop his motion, trying to speak the final word of the spell that would kill Piper, but not quite succeeding at either. Its neck landed directly on the plane, which cut into its substance, and it hung there, Prue's force spent.

The other slayer suddenly came back to life, looking around furiously, spotting the demon. "It's not over, Faith," Buffy reminded her.

"One good shove oughtta do it," Faith decided, and marked a place about ten feet away from the demon's body. Buffy raced over to start beside her, and they simultaneously ran straight into the demon's unmoving form, shoving its neck the rest of the way onto the blade, cutting the foul thing's head off and killing it for good.

"Eww gross," Phoebe chimed in as they started to head out of the foul-smelling cave.

"Well, thanks so much for all your help," Prue said to Buffy. "We... Oh my Go... look at the time!" she suddenly interrupted ourselves. "Piper and I will be late for work by the time we can get back to San Francisco."

"It's Saturday," Phoebe retorted in surprise.

"So? Busiest day at a restaurant," Piper reminded her. "And Prue told Mister Buckland that she'd... get something or other done today." She turned to Buffy and Faith. "Thank you so much. You saved my life. And pass that on to your friends too."

"Sure," Buffy said.

"Do you think we'll ever team up again?" Phoebe asked wonderingly.

"I'm not sure," Buffy admitted. "I'll be sure to give you a call if I ever really need the help of some more good witches. But somehow I think that all of us working together was never really a part of the plan."

"I'm not so sure," Piper said as she got into the car. "It may look as if we just got mixed up together, but if we hadn't, both you and I might have died." She flashed a cute smile as she drove the van away.
