Mark Consuelos (Mateo Santos)
Mark Consuelos joined the cast of All My Children in February 1995 as the middle child -- and only son -- of the Santos family. Hayley Vaughan and Mateo's long-awaited reunion was finally accomplished in front of family and friends, as the couple made their third trip down the aisle in June 2000. Will Hayley's mother Arlene and father Adam threaten to break up their wedded bliss?
Mark was born in Zaragoza, Spain, and grew up in Lebanon, Illinois and Tampa, Florida. He attended Bloomingdale High School (Illinois), and Notre Dame University, before receiving a degree in marketing in 1994 from the University of Florida.
Mark's early acting credits include Hello, Dolly at the Looking Glass Playhouse in Illinois and guest appearances on television shows such as Fortune Hunter and SeaQuest. He has appeared off-Broadway in Boy's Life by Howard Korder, Orphans by Lyle Kessler and the Penguin Repertory production of One Shot, One Kill by Richard Vetere. This past summer, Mr. Consuelos traveled to Northern California to lens the Berkeley Theatre Project's short film, "American Canyon," by Aaron Davidman.
Mr. Consuelos, along with his on-screen and off-screen co-star Kelly Ripa, was honored with the 1997 Soap Opera Award for Hottest Romance. In May of 1999, Mr. Consuelos took home his second consecutive American Latino Media Arts Award for Outstanding Actor in a Daytime Soap Opera.
Mark enjoys traveling to Italy, which he does once a year. His hobbies include working out and playing many sports, particularly softball and soccer. The youngest of three children, he has a brother, who is a doctor, and a sister, who is a lawyer. Mark is married to co-star Kelly Ripa. He lives in New Jersey with his wife, son, Michael Joseph, born in June, 1997, and daughter Lola Grace, born on June 16th, 2001.
