Lauren Koslow (Kate Roberts) - ADDED PICTURES
While a theater arts student at Virginia State University, Lauren Koslow was one designing woman who was equally adept at creating costumes and characters. She eventually earned her degree, (after first attending the University of Massachusettts) specializing in costume design, and later won a design award at the Kennedy Center’s American College Theater Festival in Washington, D.C. After graduating, Koslow joined a summer-stock theater group in Virginia, where she doubled as a costume designer and an actress. Acting soon won out for Koslow’s time and energies. She appeared in regional productions, including “Cat On a Hot Tin Roof,” “Dial M for Murder” and “The Importance of Being Earnest,” as well as in the Atlanta Shakespeare Festival productions of “Two Gentlemen of Verona” and Moliere’s “Tartuffe.” She then moved to Los Angeles to pursue a television career and landed roles on such programs as NBC’s “The Nanny.” and “The A-Team,” as well as “The New Mike Hammer,” “Spies” with George Hamilton and “House Calls.” Before Lauren Koslow joined the cast of “Days of Our Lives” as Kate Roberts in January 1996, she was already well known to daytime audiences for her roles as Lindsay Wells on “The Young and the Restless” (1984-86) and Margo Lynley on “The Bold and the Beautiful” (1987-92). Koslow, a native of Boston, is married to makeup artist Nick Schillace, and they have two children, Zachariah and Millikate. She enjoys traveling, painting and taking care of her pets, which include three dogs, a cat, a bird with an attitude, two lizards, chickens, two pet rats, three horses and a pony. Her birthday is March 6.
