Esta  TerBlanche (Gillian  Andrassy  Lavery)
Esta TerBlanche joined the cast of "All My Children" in August of 1997 as Gillian Andrassy. Sexy, spoiled and sophisticated, with European flair, Gillian struggles with the emotional turmoil of wanting Ryan Lavery, the only man she has ever loved, while being married to another -- Jake Martin -- a man for whom Gillian cares deeply. Whom will she choose?
Born and raised in South Africa, TerBlanche starred in her country's number-one soap opera, Egoli -- Place of Gold. Her theater credits include The Glass Menagerie, Pygmalion, Hear Ye, Hear Ye and Ten Times Worse on a Friday Afternoon. She also starred in the South African film, Thieves and a Wedding, and was crowned the 1991 Miss Teen South Africa.
1999 was an exciting year for Ms. TerBlanche. She, along with castmate Kelly Ripa, and three other ABC daytime beauties were featured in Jockey's latest national ad campaign featuring the new line of Jockey bras. The highlight of the campaign was the unveiling of a 90-foot billboard featuring the ladies in the middle of Manhattan's Times Square.
TerBlanche trained at the School for Art, Music Ballet and Drama and the Academy for Drama and Arts. She speaks numerous languages, including German and Afrikaans. During her spare time, TerBlanche enjoys show jumping and going to the movies. She lives in Manhattan with her husband.
