Admittedly, those facial expressions are typical for the Enigmatic Saint: serious, sceptical and concentrated. But they're only a small part of her blessed persona. It's one of the millenium's biggest misconceptions that infidels describe Dana Scully as lacking a sense of humour. It's time to cast out this unwarranted prejudice. It is rather a divine moment every time Scully smiles and she enlightens us with it in almost every episode - mostly the smiling is fleeting and only lasts a few seconds. But let's face it: Is there any reason why should she burst into laughter when she's surrounded by mutants, cancerous tumours, serial killers and aliens?
