Jamey Sheridan started his career as a dancer but a knee injury ruined his chances for being successful. So he left California and turned to stage work appearing in many impressive and successful on and off-Broadway plays. He received a Tony nomination for his playing in All my Sons.
Jamey Sheridan made his film debut in Jumpin' Jack Flash. followed by a bigger part in Distant Thunder (1988). He played a lead in first tv-series Shannon's Deal - a highly paid lawyer who left the high life to return to the trenches as a district attorney.
In Stanley and Iris (1990) he played Jane Fonda's angry unemployed brother-in-law and in Stranger Among Us (1992) Melanie Griffith's detective partner. He had an impressive appearance in The Icestorm playing Sigourney Weaver's estranged husband.

1995 he joined the cast of Chicago Hope for one season playing Dr. John Sutton.
