Besides recently wrapping TNT's "Houdini,' she has signed on to two new films, including the indie "Black and White" and New Line's "The Bachelor," according to The Hollywood Reporter. "Black" also stars Ben Stiller and Robert Downey Jr. and stars Edwards as an assistant D.A. who specializes in sex crimes. In "Bachelor," Edwards stars alongside Chris O'Donnell, who plays a man who has 24 hours to get married in order to collect $100 million.
"Chicago Hope" Star Plays the Woman Behind the Man
"Chicago Hope's" Stacy Edwards, who gained critical acclaim for her portrayal of a deaf woman in last year's indie sensation "In the Company of Men," is playing Harry Houdini's wife in a TNT original airing in December. "Houdini" stars Jonathon Schaech ("That Thing You Do!"), George Segal ("Just Shoot Me") and Rita Pearlman ("Cheers").
"I understand why Bess (Houdini) turned to drink" Edwards said, referring to the death-defying stunts Houdini performed, and Schaech, as the title character, also performed himself.
When UltimateTV asked how she went about researching her role, Edwards said that those closest to the master magician each "had their own version" of Bess. "I didn't have what I felt was acceptable materials" said the brunette beauty. "I took it all and formulated it and worked off Jonathan and had Pen (Pen Densham, the director) guide me."
