Kasi Lemmons shows another dimension ofher talent as she makes her feature film directorial debut with EVE'S BAYOU. Lemmons' work as an actress includes Jonathan Demme's SILENCI OF THE LAMBS opposite Jodie Foster, John Woo's first American film, HARD TARGET, Rusty Cundieff's parody of the rap music industry, FEAR OF A BLACK HAT, Bernard Rose's CANDYMAN with Tony Todd and Virginia Madsen, the Spike Leeproduced DROP SQUAD and VAMPIRE'S KISS with Nicolas Cage. Lemmons' screenwriting credits include "Privacy" for Michelle Pfeiffer and Paramount Pictures, "The International Sweethearts of Swing" for Twentieth CenturyFox, "Eight Pieces For Josette," currently set to star Whitnev Houston for Warner Brothers and "The New Bride" for Alphaville in partnership with Imagine and Universal Pictures. |
Presently, Lemmons is at work on the script for "The Impersonator, a love triangle thriller based on the novel by Diane Hammond. She is adapting the hook with Vondie Curtis Hall, who is Lemmons' husband and a triple threat talent himself actor, writer, director. Curtis Hall is set to direct "Impersonator" for Touchstone Pictures. Prior to EVE'S BAYOU, Lemmons directed the short film, "Dr. Hugo," which was produced by Cotty Chubb, who also produced EVE'S BAYOU.
