My goal with The Small Screen Authority is to be able to release high quality, low budget indepent movies to the home video market. I want to distribute your movie. If your a first time film/video maker and need an outlet for your work I want to be that stepping stone. Your movie has to be entertaining that's all I ask from you. I would like to deal with certain genres, perferably horror or erotic. But I would distribute other movies of other genres as well, sci-fi camp or b-movie style, comedy, gore, short films of any genre and just about anything that falls under the experimental banner. This is my mission with Small Screen/Grade Z if you want to know more specifics about the distrubution deals than make sure to check it out, just over there to the right -->-->-->-->--> |
You've made the movie, I do the footwork. in other words, you sell your movie through my company, you maintain the rights to your work, you can take it elsewhere if you find a better distribution deal. I take a chunk of the profits from tape sales, how much is undetermined as of yet, we can work that out together. For that percent my company will take care of tape duplication, cover art ,you supply me the prod. stills, or if your local I'll come to the set and take some stills. I will take care of the costs for tape and tape boxes Don't get me wrong, you get final say on how you want it promoted. You tell me how you want the box cover to look like, maybe give me some sketches I wont do anything unless you agree to it, unless you like it it's your movie, not mine, I understand that. I just wanted to take that work off your shoulders It's the way I earn my percent. I will also do everything I can to promote your movie, I will send it to the fan and genre magazines for reveiws, ie. Alternative Cinema, Psychotronic, Independent Film & Video, mostly smaller independent zines. What I can't afford to do is travel with your movie if you wanna take your movie around to the festival scene that is done by you. Remember it's your movie you maintain the rights, if you wanna go elsewhere w/ the movie then so be it. All my ties to the movie will be cut off at that point. My company is a way to provide immediate distribution on home video, if you have the chance to sell your movie to a bigger studio than more power to you, I wish you luck! I would rather work with feature length movies, at least 70 or 75 min., if you have short films, I would distribute compilation tapes perferebly some kind of theme that ties them all together and idealy I would ask that you have a handful of shorts so I could sell individual tapes of the works of one certain filmmaker Sound like a good deal, give me a buzz if you have a film or one in the working I hope we can work together!

I realise with video starting to look better and better and everything going digital a person can make a great looking movie, not as good as film but pretty damn good, for next to nothing, video tape is much cheaper and more accesible than film and even the some of those hi-8's like sonys put out video as good as beta and better than s-vhs. So go out and make an epic b-movie, horror or whatever and shot it on video, what the heck, why spend the extra money if the output is going to be homevideo anyways That is my plan, I'm already in the early pre-production stages of a low budget shot-on-video horror flick, I'll have more details about it as I get closer to production.
