b o o k - r e v i e w s We have the TV show, the merchandise, the coffee cup, and in true WB-marketing-fashion, the novels, ofcourse! (Yeah, Dawsons Creek, Roswell and Buffy have 'em too). Anyways, these Charmed novels based on the show aren't really written by Constance Burge (the creator of the show), so it's not really proven that these books are works-of-art-perfection. So, this is the section where I criticize and review each of them! isn't this fun :) alright.... |
| The Power of Three/ Eliza Willard: this is a novelization of the first episode of the show. All that you've seen in the episode (Something Wicca This Way Comes) is here. So if you saw that episode, you'd be very bored with this book (atleast I did). But maybe you won't get really bored, because the author threw in some additional scenes and storylines etc. If you're a die-hard fan and you want to collect everything Charmed, then get this. In fact, get all of the books :) |
Kiss of Darkness/ Brandon Alexander: I like the book cover for this one, don't you think it's pretty :) Alrighty then.. well, I like the book, but not really like it that much. It's about Prue, and how she kisses every man she saw, and this guy comes, and she goes blind, and blah blah.. And they save the day! Naw really, it's ok. I just don't care about this book that much. I liked the book cover though.. The Crimson Spell/ F.Goldsborough: This book I like. But I didn't like the cover though..(hmmm..). Why the heck am I talking about the covers, anyway? Back to the topic.. I like the story. It's really nice. It actually has some suspense (that the other two are really lacking..hmmm..). The real fun thing is Prue actually having a friend! (yes, a Wiccan friend). Actually, all three have new friends! (well, love interest exactly). But anyways, the ending is really sad, and cute, so that's a plus. Whispers from the Past: I finally finished this book. I bought this in July, and right now it's September, so.....that's two months! that's a new record! :) heh. AHEM. Ok..the book was..long. I dunno. But it just droned on and on and on...it's like "Darnit, end already!!!" But maybe that's just me because I was really irritated when I was reading the book. Oh well. But the plot is different, for a change, and it gets thrilling at some parts. So, that was an OK book. Voodoo Moon: I'm still going to buy this one...maybe this weekend..or maybe the week after that...gee. I'm such a procastinator. <-- back |
