Shampoo and Mousse?
Words from fellow fans . . .

Here's some word from MasterManG

Great site!  Unfortunately for anyone who thinks Mousse can end up with
Shampoo, it could only happen in the anime.  The writers in the anime make
everybody nicer.  Rumiko didn't even have a say in how the anime was done!
While you are right that Shampoo doesn't hate Mousse, she doesn't care about
him either.  Hell, Ranma gives more of a damn about Mousse's life than
Shampoo!  There is an manga story where Ranma and Akane think Mousse is
dying, and after explaining the situation to Shampoo, she refuses to help
until Ranma bribes her (and no she didn't know that he was okay, she thought
he was dying too)!  Ranma wants to help Mousse even after all the grief he's
given him, but Shampoo doesn't want to lend a hand to help save a fellow
warrior and fellow tribesman-in-a-foreign-land!  Also Mousse never showed up
in the manga version of the Contrary Jewel story.  She probably would have
been nice to him if he had showed up while she was wearing the jewel.
Shampoo's kinda despicable in the manga.  She is actually far more evil than
most people think Colonge is.  Colonge cares far more about Shampoo's
happiness and in making Shampoo the best she can be than she does about
Ranma.  She has watched silently in shame as Shampoo has debased herself
trying to win Ranma, and doesn't care for many of Shampoo's tatics (kinda
hypocritical given the cat tounge incident, but she did assume Ranma would
either give up and marry Shampoo, or he would learn the Kachuu Tenshin
Amaguriken, so in reality she was trying to make him stronger and an even
better catch for Shampoo).  In Tarou's 1st appearance Shampoo first helps
fight Tarou, because he's fighting Ranma, but after he escapes, kidnapping
Akane with him, she only goes to help because she wants to kill Akane and
blame the murder on Tarou!  Clever but evil nontheless.  Even Tarou wouldn't
sink to that low!  He will only kill an enemy in combat (of course  he's not
above cheating to win said combat), and in fact he inadvertently saved a
tied-up and helpless Akane (he tied her up to keep her from escaping) from
being killed by Shampoo when a water trap he had set (to turn the others into
their weaker cursed forms) splashed Shampoo before she could strike a killing
blow.  The only people I have seen Tarou attack while helpless are Happosai
(who wouldn't), Ranma (and he had beaten Ranma to make him helpless, see
above), and Rouge (he knew how incredibly powerful and lethal she is when
transformed and wanted to finish her off before she got some water, note that
Rouge turns into a demi-goddesss when wet, and she wanted and tried to kill
him just for some damn cure for her back pains, six arms are such a bitch on
the spine), so thats more proof that she's eviler than some of the bad guys,
at least in the manga.  Sorry, I went way off track, but I think the point
that Shampoo is not for Mousse has been emphazised.

The Wandering Gambler

I think shampoo and mousse is the worst possible combo in Nekonron China!!!  Shampoo not only has to marry ranma by the law but she would never turn to that side is Mousse!  Mousse has insulted her for as long as i have seen Ranma 1/2.

Cyberella,

This is my two cents for your question about whether Mousse and Shampoo
could ever really get married or if it's just a joke:

I'd really like to believe they could be happy together, so this may be
just wishful thinking, but...yes, I think that Shampoo could love him
someday.  I think that throughout the course of the anime and manga, Shampoo
sees Mousse as more of a baby brother-type figure.  She doesn't have much
respect for him, although she does seem to care for him somewhat, which is
why she does occasionally take some interest in what's happening to him.
What Mousse really needs to do is prove himself to her, since she's
defeated him so many times.  He pretty much did that when he rescued her
from the Birdman, and it probably earned him quite a bit of respect from
her.  There's no way of knowing, since they didn't really interact at the
end of the second movie, and he wasn't even in the third movie (grrr...),
and then Ranma 1/2 ended.  Okay, so Shampoo still liked Ranma in the third
movie, but that doesn't mean that she didn't like Mousse during it too.
Maybe that was the writer's way of giving us Mousse and Shampoo fans as much
of a happy ending as they possibly could, by showing us an event that could
eventually lead to Mousse and Shampoo becoming a couple (the same thing
pretty much goes for Ukyo and Ryoga, and Ranma and Akane too, when you think
about it).  Hmmm, well, I know that's a stretch, but it's possible.  I know
I kind of went off topic there, but, yes, I think that Shampoo has it in her
to love Mousse, and they would have a chance at being happy.  Shampoo just
has to see a different side of Mousse, and Mousse just has to come to grips
with Shampoo's true nature (I'm not sure if he ever completely grasped it or
not...), and then they would be all smiles.
They'd make a cute couple too, I guess.  I always imagine Shampoo
shouting "Nihao, Mousse!", glomping him, and then Mousse fainting ^_^.
They'd probably be a lot more pleasant to be around for the rest of the
Ranma cast once they got together, and Mousse would have a much better time,
especially at parties, because he'd have Shampoo to lead him around and keep
him from bumping into things.
And if you think Shampoo still wouldn't like him because he wasn't her
husband by Amazon law, well, actually, Shampoo technically IS his bride.
Think about this: In Nihao, My Concubine, Toma issues a challenge to all of
the girls elligible to be his bride, right?  Well, disregard all those other
girls for a second.  Ranma took the challenge in order to keep the girls
from being Toma's brides, so essentially, he's doing it to keep his
fiancees, including Shampoo.  Since Ranma was technically fighting for his
fiancees, and since he lost Toma's challenge, Shampoo became Toma's bride
according to her Amazon law.  Then Toma gave her to Toristan, so she became
rightfully Toristan's bride (okay, okay, I'm not sure that they really would
allow that in the Amazon law, but, it seems like it might work).  Then
Mousse defeated Toristan.  So Mousse defeated Toristan, who got Shampoo from
Toma, who defeated Ranma, who defeated Shampoo in the first place.  So,
Shampoo technically is Mousse's bride.  *phew* I know, I know, I'm really
stretching it now.
Wow, I'm so sorry, this is a lot longer than I wanted it to be.  I know
I really dragged on, and I won't mind if you don't post it, because I'm sure
it's a pain to read.  Uh, anyway, I'm done, that was my two cents.  Sorry
about all that ^_^.
