Summary

Cordelia and Wesley are still setting up the hotel and bickering the entire time. Angel's just gotten up after sleeping for three days and he's still exhausted. Cordelia suddenly has a vision of some demon growing out of a wall. Cordelia thinks they should locate the place where the demon is hiding out. Angel dozes off and dreams of Darla and is then abruptly awakened. Angel then figures out that the place where the demon is is actually in a water tank underground in Freemont where the land just so happens to be cursed. They call Gunn for some back-up and head to the water tank. The humans worshipping the demon are fighting each other, until Angel's group is spotted. Angel goes haywire on some disciple while Gunn kills the ugly demon. Angel, completely distracted, goes for a walk where he spots a woman that looks exactly like Darla. He tries to catch her but she disappears before he can reach her.

The Past - Angelus finds Darla in an alley after she's finished feeding. Darla shows him Drusilla, a special offering for him. Drusilla has the "sight" and will be an interesting toy for him. Drusilla, upon seeing Angelus, motions to her two sisters to move along quickly because she senses something evil about him.

Present - A new client is at the office and he's telling Cordelia and Wesley that his wife, Claire, is regularly abducted by aliens, either that or his wife is cheating on him. Angel walks in and rudely says that his wife probably is cheating on him. Angel heads to the back room where Wesley and Cordelia join him. He tells them that he's been out of it lately because he's just realized that Darla's in town. Cordelia and Wesley don't believe him but he continues to explain about his dreams but that only makes them think that he's insane. Over at Wolfram & Hart, Lindsey tells Darla that they want Angel evil, and not dead. Meanwhile at Kate's newly assigned precinct, an old friend named Jack, comes to visit her. He drops off a package containing a picture of Angel's new office.

Angel, Wesley and Cordelia are spying on Claire, who's trying to get a man to have sex with her. The man agrees and they're heading to a hotel room when Angel jumps out and tells her to go home and tell her husband about her affairs. Suddenly Angel spots Darla. He runs up to her and demands to know who she's passing as. He says he can smell her and he knows she's Darla. Shocked, she tells him her name is Dietta Cramer and that her husband is waiting outside. Terrified by Angel she runs out into the sunlight into her husband's arms. The trio return to the office. Angel's still convinced that its Darla, even if she did walk into the sunlight, and that she must now be human. Angel tells a very much disbelieving Wesley and Cordelia to look up info on Dietta Cramer while Angel goes to the karaoke bar. After an embarassing stint on stage, the anagogic demon tells him that he's heading into trouble and he can't help him. Angel calls Cordelia and she tells him where Dietta Cramer is living. Convinced Angel's about to do smjething he'll regret, Wesley calls Gunn and sets up a tranquilizer dartgun.

Angel goes to the address and sees Darla and her so-called husband inside. Inside we learn that Darla is being watched by Wolfram & Hart, her husband is a hired actor and this is all a plot to capture Angel. Meanwhile Gunn gets to the office and he's informed about Angel and his true vampire form Angelus and that his sire was Darla.

1800s - Drusilla is being held captive by Angelus. He's killed all her family and she's quickly going insane. Drusilla watches on while Darla and Angelus make love.

Present - Darla calls the police and tells them that a man is breaking into her house. Angel, hearing her fake screams, barges into the house. She acts frightened by Angel and covers her now-dead fake husband. The cops arrive and try to arrest Angel, but he leaves and tells Darla that she'll pay for this. A short while later Darla is talking to Kate, the detective at the scene. Darla pretends she doesn't understand what's going on and she tells Kate that Angel has been stalking her for several weeks. Kate is determined to catch Angel. As Kate turns her back on Darla, Angel whisks her away. Kate goes to Angel's new office and has the entire hotel searched for him. Kate tells the group that Angel knocked down a door and attacked "Dietta". Gunn then points out that since Angel is a vampire he shouldn't have been able to get itno the house if Dietta was actually living there and alive. Wesley shows Kate a picture of Darla and Kate recognizes her as Dietta Cramer. Meanwhile Angel takes Darla to the underground water tank. He roughly shoves her up against a pillar but stops short of actually biting her. They start to kiss desperately until Angel roughly shoves Darla away. He figures out that Wolfram & Hart want him bad and Darla was brought back to make him evil with one moment of happiness. Angel then tells her that she never made him happy because he never had a soul. She tries to convince him that he is and always will be evil. Meanwhile the sun has come up. Angel tells her that eventually her soul will get the better of her and she'll start to feel bad for all that she's done. She tells him she still wants him and then she leaves, heading out into the sunlight. After sunset Angel returns to his hotel. Wesley and Cordelia drop in to say hi and to make sure that he's not evil.

Quote of the Week

Wesley: Angel, you can't just sniff a person and...
Angel: (sniffs Wesley) You had sex last night with a bleach blonde.
Wesley: Good lord! How did you...
Cordelia: That's unbelievable. I didn't think you ever had sex.

Excellent ep! I hated having to bring Darla back because they *should* have kept her dead but now that she is back I guess we might as well go ahead and have a little fun with her. I like Darla, she's fun to watch and ever the wonderful troublemaker. The big shocker to me is that now she's human. Human! Oh what a messsed up world this is! I'm also very surprised that she's going along with Wolfram & Hart about all this. She seems, to me, to be more of the type to seek revenge on her own and not go with the whims of a law firm. That whole scene with Darla posing as Dietta Cramer was great to see, especially Darla running into the sunlight. What a shocker that must have been (for Angel). Still, this whole human issue is kind of bizarre. Plus she's still her old vampiric Darla self. When Angel got his soul back he became nicer but Darla isn't like that. She's still kind of nasty and evil. So what happened? Did they botch her up? Gunn was a little useless in this episode. And Kate is just bothering me beyond belief. She used to be cool. She used to be fun in the episodes. Now she's a mjor freakin' drag and its really getting on my nerves. She's agot a holier than thou attitude and it sucks. She knows Angel's good, she knows he's saved her life a couple times. Now why does she want to believe that Angel has "gone off his rocker"? Get over the death of your father already!

Intrigue and mystery abounds this week on Angel. I have a couple of beefs with this episode. One, why the hell did they make Darla human? If it is so that she becomes repentant and Angel guides her, I swear to god that I will end up not watching the show. Sheesh. Two, what were those guys at the beginning all about? To introduce the former convent? It didn't make much sense to me, and I really didn't care for it. Three, are Darla and Lyndsey gonna have something going on? Four, why did they give Lyndsey a girly name? (apologies to all the boy Lyndsey's out there, please don't flame me) Five, why is Angel turning into a bumhead? He's all mean and biter, isn't he supposed to be better now, more open? Like at the beginning of the season he was all friendly to Cordy and Wesley, hanging out with them and now he's all "get out of my face"? Sheesh. I do like Gunn more and more every episode, and Kate less and less. I like it better when she's not in the episode, just because her whole righteous attitude really ticks me off. Who is she to judge? Sheesh. But the one absolute highlights of this episode was seeing Drusilla, even if it was only a flashback. Someone should start a "Bring Back Drusilla" Campaign. Who else would love to see Dru in Los Angeles?
