Cordelia and Wesley are setting up their new office, unfortunately their phone line doesn't work and they have no clients. Meanwhile Angel is visited by the Host who drops by with the info that the world will end tomorrow. He says that at his club last night a guy came in to sing and while he was reading this guy's soul he got knocked out. He read that there was no future after 10 o'clock tomorrow night. They decide to check other karaoke bars for this guy. Meanwhile the same guys is in a lab. His name is Gene and he's working on stopping an instant of time but he can't get the math right. His girlfriend Denise walks in and he can't wait for their one year anniversary tomorrow. Angel and the Host visit several karaoke bars and at the last one they find some info on Gene and what college he goes to. Meanwhile Gene is still in his lab but his latest experiment fails. He leaves the lab and two demons appear. They change his final equation. These two demons want the human race to disappear.
Virginia shows up at the new office with house-warming gifts and the news that she has a case for them; a demon is stalking some wealthy family. Gene returns to his lab and, seeing the new equation, tests it out and it works. Elated he races ouf of the lab to tell his girlfriend. Angel and the Host make it to the college library to look through old yearbooks. Denise is with her friend and she tells her that she feels that she has to break-up with Gene and that she doesn't feel that he has the kind of love that lasts. Meanwhile Gene has overheard all of this andhe's really depressed by it. Gene returns to his lab and decides that he'll give Denise the kind of love that lasts, by freezing them in time.
Meanwhile the Host finds Gene in a yearbook and Angel gets directions to his on-campus lab. Suddenly they're attacked by the white faced demons that changed the equation. After muttering some words, it runs off. The Host translates and it told Angel that they could not stop the golden child. They're Lubber demons awaiting the end of all human life. Angel and the Host go to his lab and find all of Gene's equipment removed. They also learn that he's learning to freeze time and if it was not properly contained it would spill over and engulf the world. Meanwhile Gene is setting up the time freezing equipment in his bedroom. Angel and the Host drive to Gene's apartment and on the way the Host tells Angel that his heart is not in his work anymore. Angel's angry that he has to atone for 100 years of evil and with Wolfram & Hart after him all the time it's really driving him crazy. Suddenly several Lubber demons follow them, determined to stop Angel.
Meanwhile Gunn has just killed a demon at the wealthy family's home but Wesley then accuses Aunt Helen of actually killing the man and he's correct, which stuns the family. Denise arrives at Gene's house and after an awkward supper, they move towards his bedroom. Angel and the Host get to Gene's apartment to find Lubber demons guarding the equipment. In his apartment, in the middle of making, love, Gene turns the time freezing machine on and the two lovers are frozen in his bed. The Lubber demons then change the equation allowing the circle to expand. Angel rushes in and pulls the plug before the circle can engulf too much. Everything unfreezes immediately. A few minutes later, Denise breaks up with Gene. Angel and the Host confront Gene who apologizes profusely, he didn't expect this to happen. Meanwhile Cordelia, Gunn and Wesley are having a party at their office. A client shows up looking for Angel, but they tell him that it's just a name.

Nika's Comments
Kind of a filler episode wasn't it? Not much action really. And the thing that's bugging me the most is the Host's lipstick. At the beginning of this episode it was dark, like black or something and that looked really good. Even natural (for a demon at least). But in the next scene it changed back to neon pink. Stick with the black please! It looks so much more real. And he loses his cheesy look when he's got the black on. Angel's really becoming more and more one-dimensional. Crush. Kill. Destroy! Like, come on! He's got layers! Let's see some more of them! Gene was kind of boring... I really didn't like much of the storyline this week. Kind of left me wanting a lot more.
