Summary

Cordelia, Gunn and Wesley are leaving the office, still shocked and hurt that Angel fired them. They decide that maybe it's best to leave Angel alone for a while. Angel is inside burning dozens of pictures that he'd drawn of Darla. He then starts working out furiously, trying to get ready to fight Darla. Meanwhile at Holland's house after the massacre, only Lindsey and Lilah are left alive. Wesley has gone to Virginia's house and she too is surprised by Angel's actions but she's going to help Wesley get another job. Angel is continuing his training and thinks he's now read to face Darla. Lindsey and Lilah are back at Wolfram & Hart and they're convinced that someone is planning on killing one of them. In Lindsey's office they find Darla and Drusilla waiting for them. Lindsey wants to know why he was spared and Darla teases him saying that she loves him. Darla knows that since Holland is dead, either Lilah or Lindsey will get promoted. Darla is keeping her connection open with Wolfram & Hart because she wants power.

Wesley is in the demon karaoke bar when in walks Cordelia. After they try to come up with excuses, they both admit to coming there to sing because they want to know what's ahead in their lives. Then Gunn shows up with the same intentions. Meanwhile Angel is torturing some demon for info, the demon gives up that Darla and Drusilla are trying to are trying to recruit demons and gives them the address for a demon fight club. At that fight club Darla and Drusilla show up and tell all the demons that she's looking for fighters that revel in disaster. She leaves an address and then vacates. Angel, dressed in a cloak, has seen all this. He then realizes that he's not ready, emotionally, to fight Darla.

Lindsey is accosted by Lilah who tells him that she can't wait any longer, wondering if she's going to die first. She suggests that they take some client files and run off together. He figures out that she's wired and refuses to have anything to do with stealing company files. Meanwhile Cordelia, Wesley and Gunn are still at the bar arguing drunkenly over who got them all fired. They go on stage and sing amazingly off-key to the tune "We Are The Champions". A short while later Cordelia has a vision of a demon dragging a hurt girl in an alley nearby. Out on the streets Gunn finds a trail of blood that leads up a building. The trio get into the building and the nasty demon attacks them. Wesley and Gunn dispatch of him quickly enough and carry the injured girl to the hospital.

Darla and Drusilla show up at the warehouse to find all their warriors dead and Angel standing at the other side of the warehouse, bruised, battered and smoking a cigarette. He drops the cigarette into a kerosene trail and the fire quickly reaches the girls and they enflame. Screaming, they run to a fire hydrant and bash it open, dousing the flames and keeping them from dying. Darla keeps repeating that that wasn't Angel, and it wasn't Angelus either.

At Wolfram & Hart, Lilah and Lindsey are called into a meeting. A man informs them that the Senior Partners want both Lilah and Lindsey to run the Special Projects division of the company until they decide to narrow it down to one. Wesley visits Angel to inform him that they're keeping the investigation agency open, with or without him.

Nika's Comments

What the hell is wrong with Angel? This goes way past bizarre to not even making very much sense to me. Why on earth does he feel he has to train like a madman in order to fight a freshly made vampire? Wouldn't Darla not have all her strength back yet? And was she stronger than him before? Well obviously not because he killed her the first time round! And I don't understand why he has to go on these psychotic demon killing sprees where it seems really clear that he wouldn't really care if he was killing demons or humans. All he seems to want to do is kill something to get rid of the tension in his life. I'm no Dr. Laura but this is getting absolutely psychotic. I've had enough of Angel walking around being a freakin' killing machine. It's not interesting, it doesn't attract me one bit to the storyline and as far as I can see it does nothing to advance the plot. Let's move on with this shall we? Since the beginning of this season Angel has been acting bizzare and I'm sick of it!
