Angel interrupts a ceremonial sacrifice by workers doing a job for Wolfram & Hart. The ritual had to be done by midnight otherwise something out there will be extremely pissed off.
Wlesy, Cordelia and Gunn has healed Mss. Sharpe's daughter who had the third eye but Mrs. Shape refuses to pay their bill and leaves immediately with her daughter. Meanwhile at Wolfram & Hart, Lilah is becoming nervous about the review coming up but Lindsey doesn't care all that much about it. Angel goes to Kate and says he's worried about the sudden increases in blood sacrifices. But Kate can't do anything because she has a hearing soon and they blame her for Atkinson getting beat up (Angel's doing). She's also angry about Angel locking the lawyers into that room with the vampires. Lindsey returns home to Darla who's on the couch, apparently very weak, but as soon as Lindsey leaves the room she gets up, completely uninjured, and starts riffling through Lindsey's briefcase. Angel goes to the Host's bar where a lot of Wolfram & Hart lawyers have gathered. The Host tells him about the 75 year review happening at Wolfram & Hart. The review is done by the Senior Partner and they're positively evil. The band of Blacknil and Home Office are the only other words the Host can offer him. Angel begins his research but turns up empty and storms into Cordelia, Wesley and Gunn's new office and after a confrontation he gets the book he was looking for.
At Kate's hearing all the details of the past eight months of her life are laid out on the table and she can't explain the supernatural events to the officers. The board believes that Kate has not mourned the lose of her father and she is to return her gun and badge as she is being fired. Angel returns to Denver's shop, the man he met many years ago. The man offers info about a Kleynach demon. It wears the band of Blacknil (a ring) that can open portals between this world and the Home Office. In order to get the ring you have to kill the Kleynach and in order to do that you need the glove, which Denver actually has handy. He's handing the glove to Angel when Darla appears and stabs the two of them through the stomach with a sword and walks off with the glove.
Wesley is at Virginia'a house and she's worried about all the danger that Wesley's involved in. He realizes this is hard for her, breaking up with him. Kate goes home and immediately starts drinking and crying. That night, just as Lilah's entering Wolfram & Hart offices, Angel appears behind her and forces her to take him into the building. Wesley calls Cordelia to tell her he won't be in to work tomorrow and that maybe she should go out, quietly she tells him that she doesn't have any friends to go out with. As Cordelia is leaving the office the phone rings and it's Mrs. Sharpe who now agrees to pay her fees. Cordelia gets the address but little does she know that there are demons waiting for her at the Sharpe home.
At Wolfram & Hart, the lawyers have gathered around a pentagram. Angel is spotted as well as Darla. Angel and Darla fight for the glove and Angel wins. The Kleynach demon manifests in the center of the pentagram and Angel immediately grabs the Kleynach by the throat and dives with him out the window. They drop 15 stories down and the Kleynach disintigrates while Angel lands uninjured on the pavement. The ring falls beside him. He puts it on and an elevator nearby opens. Inside is a dead Holland Manners and he inivtes Angel in. The doors close and they're sent to the Home Office. But the doors open up on the exact same place they just left from. Holland tells him that there's evil in every single person out there and that life just goes on, without any winners. A saddened Angel walks around the town, disgusted by what he sees. He returns home to find Kate calling his answering machine and she's spouting nonsense. Darla is waiting for Angel in his room and she's looking for the ring. Roughly Angel starts kissing her and it eventually leads to sex. For Angel, it's a way of getting out of the cold of his mind and body, to feel again. He wakes up in the middle of the night, in pain.

Nika's Comments
Confusing. To say the least. I still don't understand most of this episode. Okay, so the Kleynach demon is... what? The Senior Partner? Umm... still not sure about that... Okay and Darla wanted the ring... umm... why? No clue there either. And I'm not sure I entirely understand the idea of the review for Wolfram and Hart. What on earth was that all about? I don't get it... to promote people or something? Bah... and then Holland Manners appears in the elevator that we think if taking Angel to the Home Office but instead takes him right back to LA. So what? Come again? The only thing I can think of to say about that is that maybe Angel considers Earth to be his own hell because nothing ever changes and no one ever wins, but other than that I'm pretty much taped. I don't understand what they wanted us to get out of that whole scene. It didn't make any sense to me!
