Lilah Morgan enters Lindsey's office at Wolfram and Hart, snooping around for his new project when she is surprised by Darla. Darla shows Lilah what she is using to keep Angel sleepy while she visits him at night, it's a type of powder that wil put someone in a trance. Angel gets up from bed only to find Cordelia arguing about whether or not to pay Gunn for his work. Angel promises to think about it and is telling them about how sleepy he is when Cordy gets a vision of two guys attacking a young girl in an alley. The guys are arguing who'll "go first" when a dumpster moves across the alley of it's own will, smooshing the men.
Angel is investigating the alley and notices a doorway to an empty room, where the girl is hiding. He begins to talk to her but she starts to run, so Angel tries to follow her, but a metal bar lodges itself in his shoulder, apparently from the girl's powers. The girl is surprised when he gets up and offers his help. He gives her his card, and tells her if she needs anything, she can come to him. The girl, Bethany is unlocking her door when Lilah opens it from the inside. Bethany thanks Lilah for letting her stay with her. Bethany had gone there after Lilah had spoken at her school, and Lilah tells Bethany that she's very special and that people will know her power soon and want to control it.
Cordy is bandaging Angel's chest while he he fills them in on the details. Gunn enters, ready for action, but Angel asks him to find out more about the would-be rapists. Angel decides to go to bed, even though it's only been three hours since he got up. Bethany is also in bed, dreaming about herself in an attic, when her dad comes upstairs, telling her to be quiet and come downstairs with him. Lilah enters Bethany's bedroom and sees the lamp shaking on the bedside table. It flies off and hits Lilah and wakes Bethany up. She apologizes and runs out, leaving Lilah on the floor. Angel is having another Darla dream about the night he drank from the gypsy girl. He wakes up and heads downstairs and then Bethany arrives.
At Wolfram and Hart, Lilah and her boss are discussing Bethany. They set up the rapist scene to scare her because they want her to become an assasin for them. Just then, Lilah gets a call from Bathany, who tells Lilah that she's at Angel's. Bethany goes to talk to Angel about her telekinesis, telling him she wishes it would go away. Wesley enters, telling Bethany that she should take her problems somewhere else, to go back home to her father, which triggers a psychic reaction. Welsley guessed that the intense trauma of having her father abuse her lead to her telekinesis. Angel sends Wesley and Cordelia home and then heads off to bed. He is in the midst of another Darla dream when Bethany comes into the room, waking him up. Bethany asks Angel if he wants to, uh, you know, have sex, but he says no. Bethany leaves the room, not noticing Darla, who is hidden in the shadows.
The next day Angel is helping Bethany control her power, but he has to leave to meet Gunn. Gunn found the apartment of the rapist, who looks quite rich, leading them to believe he was a hired thug. Angel presses the guy's speed dial and it connect to Wolfram and Hart. Cordy and Bethany are shopping when a bunch of guys abduct Bethany. Angel follows them in his car with Gunn and rescues Bethany bringing her back to the hotel, filling her in on what Lilah really wanted her for. Bethany gets upset and the walls start to shake. She goes to leave the room but when she opens the door, her father is there. He wants her to come home and Bethany is losing control over her power and Angel tells her that she can do it. Bethany lifts her father off the ground with ther mind and pushes him out the window but stops him before he can hit the ground, then drops him the foot the had left to fall.
Bethany returns to Lilah's to start packing while Lilah tries to convince her to stay, but Bethany refuses, meeting Angel at the door and leaving to start a new life.

Niki Bartl's Comments
I didn't really like this episode, mostly because I found it hard to like Bethany. She was traumatized and everything, but she just seemed cold, or out of it. I didn't really care what happened to her, which made me not care about the plot. Especially the whole sex talk with Angel. I just found that a lot of the dialogue was pointless and there was way to much action in comparison with the slight amount of dialogue that was useful. It seemed sort of out of character to have Wesley do what he did without discussing it with Angel or Cordy, but I guess they just wanted him out of this episode. The only person who actually was decent in this episode was Cordy, but Bethany was cold and Angel seemed especially detached. I mean, sure, he's having crazy dreams, but he just seemed out of it, especially with his cracks about the remote control and all. You would think that he knows when to joke and when to be serious. I'm usually impressed by episodes that Joss directs, but this one left me bored. I enjoyed the idea of the assassin, but Wolfram and Hart didn't try very hard to get Bethany back and that part of the plot eventually fizzled. The only thing that I wanted to know is when Angel is going to found out about Darla. But those r-rated dream sequences are just getting grosser and grosser, they really need to go.
Nika's Comments
I'm going to have to agree with almost all of Niki's review. Those Darla and Angel dream sequences are getting to be a bit much. My mom and dad kept walking into the room just as they'd start going at it and needless to say my parents were none too impressed with this show. As for Bethany, whoever acted for that character was just too stale. She didn't seem very 3-dimensional. I don't know if it was the actor or maybe the writing for the character but something didn't work and it just made some rather awkward scenes. Like the one with Angel in his bedroom and her self-proclamation about being a slut. That was a little much for me. I liked that they tried to branch out from the usual demonic forces and try for telekinetic powers. I've always been fascinated by this sort of stuff but this episode kind of left me with a disinterested feeling. I don't think it's possible for Bethany to learn to control her powers in that amount of time (what? like two days?). If she's going to be around for more episodes (I have no idea, I'm just guessing from the way Angel took her away at the end) I hope they make her character a little more interesting.
