*** NLML Rules ***
1. What can you post? Well, anything related to
Nick Lea's TV or movie roles. We're a very accepting
group, so don't worry about whether you're "allowed"
to say something -- the only thing we forbid is flaming -- making
personal attacks on people. You can and will be unsubbed for
making personal attacks. There are lots of ways to disagree
with someone without being mean.
Also, the actor's private life is strictly OFF LIMITS. Whether Nick has ever been arrested in the past, where his family lives, or his sexual preferences are NOT topics we can discuss here. It's completely none of our business, and is merely gossip and speculation.
2. Absolutely no chain letters or virus warnings.
3. Try to limit the number of "me, too" posts. Also, ask youself, "Does everyone on the list really need to read this?" before hitting send.
4. Posts sent to this list should be treated as private e-mail, and should not be sent to others outside of the list. This is basic internet behavior, and you will be unsubbed for violating the privacy of those who post here.
5. Quote the message you're responding to, but
don't go overboard. Keep the passages quoted as short
as possible so that people don't have to scroll down
unnecessary lines.
6. We ask that if your post contains spoilers for
ANYTHING (current or future XF, a TV show or a movie
with NL in it, etc.), make sure you mark it in the
subject line, ie: "Spoilers: XF movie", or "Warning: Spoilers".
Lots of people don't see the shows when they're first run,
or are on a
different schedule than the rest of us.
7. Attached files can crash people's systems -- this includes posts, short snippets, pictures... ANY attached file. So, don't post that way. Ever. If you find something wonderful you'd like to share with the list -- a photo, fun videotape labels, whatever -- make an announcement to the list, don't simply attach it.
8. Profanity is not acceptable language. There are a number of minors subscribed to this list, and some people share their computer with their families or use the one at the office. It is neither welcome nor encouraged. Remember, you are discussing Nick and his work on a public list, not private e-mail.
9. If your topic has nothing to do with NL, mark your header with "Off-Topic" or "OT." Please try to keep the number of off topic posts to a minimum. If you reply to an off topic post, please do it privately. Also, just mentioning Nick or one of his roles in an off topic post does NOT MAKE IT ON TOPIC.
10. Please limit signatures to four lines or less. Any more takes up unnecessary bandwidth.
11. Remember, this is a public
forum. Anyone can automatically sub here, which means Nick, his family,
or his agent can subscribe to the list anonymously!
