| Title: | ABOVE THE LAW |
| Year: | 1988 |
| Genre: | Action |
| Director: | Andrew Davis |
| The players: | Steven
Seagal
Pam Grier Sharon Stone Henry Silva Ron Dean |
| About the film: | Seagal’s screen debut, a stupid low-budget actioner where a big city cop leads his own one man fight against corruption. He hates the idea of criminals and corrupt police officers walking free, he has obviously no problem, however, with the thought of himself and his family being in constant mortal danger. The film is much too stupid to be any good. Yes, Seagal is an aikido master, he would probably beat most guys pretty easily, but here he takes care of four armed killers with his bare hands. |

| Title: | ABSENCE OF MALICE |
| Year: | 1981 |
| Genre: | Drama |
| Director: | Sydney Pollack |
| The players: | Sally
Field
Paul Newman Bob Balaban Melinda Dillon Luther Adler |
| About the film: | The government investigates the disappearance of a man but they’re getting nowhere so they make a journalist (Sally Field) write an article claiming that Newman is a key suspect. The idea is that if he’s innocent he’ll have to find the guilty person in order to clear his name. The article ruins Newman’s business and he’s determined to get even. Field is good as the journalist who writes the article and then begins to understand what she’s done. |

| Year: | 1988 |
| Genre: | Drama |
| Director: | Jonathan Kaplan |
| The players: | Jodie
Foster
Kelly McGillis Bernie Coulson Leo Rossi Ann Hearn |
| About the film: | Jodie Foster won her first academy award as Sarah Tobias, a young woman who goes to a bar to dance. Some men rape her while the other guests either pretend not to take notice or stand and cheer. She behaved alluring so perhaps some thought she deserved it. We then follow her struggle to put them up for trial. The film shows how yellow people are – no one had the guts to try to save her or even support her afterwards. Based on a true story. |

Carrey
Courteney Cox Sean Young Tone Loc Dan Marino |
| About the film: | Carrey plays a pet detective, his grimaces is all that carries this movie and I don’t think that’s enough. But there’s obviously those who think otherwise because this film was a success and gave Carrey opportunities to make faces in several films. |

| Genre: | Adventure |
| Directors: | Michael

William Keighley |
| The players: | Errol
Flynn
Olivia de Havilland Basil Rathbone Claude Rains Patric Knowles |
| About the film: | This glorious Warner-adventure is still the best rendering of Robin Hood. It’s lively and dashing with a superior cast including Flynn and de Havilland in their most famous pairing. The film is a perfect blend of action, tragedy, love, heroes, villains and excitement that make it a perfect family film. By the way, did they really wear tights in Sherwood? |

| Genre: | Thriller |
| Director: | Martin Scorsese |
| The players: | Griffin
Dunne
Rosanna Arquette Verna Bloom Linda Fiorentino Teri Garr |
| About the film: | Dunne gets a date for the night, a night that doesn’t really turn out as he expected. Everybody he meets are quite odd (very unrealistic) and he himself gets into real trouble and just wants to get home. |

| Year: | 1960 |
| Genre: | Western |
| Director: | John Wayne |
| The players: | John
Wayne
Richard Widmark Laurence Harvey Richard Boone Frankie Avalon |
| About the film: | The one and only time John Wayne ever directed a film. Throughout his life he had been wanting to make a film about the 1836 battle at the Alamo. When he got the opportunity he made a huge epic, filmed on location, rich in details but not historically accurate. The film is, as John Wayne himself, very patriotic. Playing Davy Crockett, Wayne took the opportunity to share his thoughts about how a good American and a real man should be. The film was an expensive failure, very slow and pointless the first hours and banal throughout. |

| Year: | 1979 |
| Genre: | Drama, Musical |
| Director: | Bob Fosse |
| The players: | Roy
Scheider
Jessica Lange Ann Reinking Leland Palmer John Lithgow |
| About the film: | Coreographer Fosse’s autobiography is extremely slow and boring. He doesn’t give a flattering image of himself. It seems that he wants some campassion and understandning from the viewer for his behaviour. Scheider is gloomy as Fosse and the musical numbers pales in comparison with those of M-G-M’s musicals. Lange’s filmdebut. |

| About the film: | Muni plays a gangster who is murdered by a "close friend". Satan (Claude Rains) is willing to give him a chance to take revenge on the killer. In return Satan wants him to work according to his instructions as a lawyer. Muni returns to the living as a succesful lawyer with a beautiful wife. He has difficulties fitting in but nevertheless wants to take revenge on his friend and double cross Satan, that is, before he falls in love with his wife. Original script that works well. |

| Year: | 1938 |
| Genre: | Gangster |
| Director: | Michael Curtiz |
| The players: | James
Cagney
Pat O’Brien Humphrey Bogart Ann Sheridan George Bancroft |
| About the film: | A near classic with Cagney and O’Brien playing two childhood friends, one becomes a priest (O’Brien) and one a gangster (Cagney). The plot is good, the priest tries to keep the kids on the right track but they idolize the gangster. The priest belives the gangster can change and help the kids. Cagney is brilliant and colorful and he gets great support from O’Brien, Bogart and Sheridan in her first big part. The kids are not good at all, most of them are ridicculous. |

| About the film: | Well acted costume drama about Henry VIII’s famous love life. This film concentrates on his marriage to Anne Boelyn who faced a cruel destiny. Burton gives a fine performance, he got one of his eight oscar nominations. The plot is too restricted, there’s not enough story for a whole film. |

| About the film: | Pathetic sequel to Stakeout, here the police duo of Dreyfuss and Estevez get unwelcome help from O’Donnell and her dog. All chemistry between Dreyfuss and Estevez is gone in this film, they both seem pretty uninterested. Only funny sequence is when they invite Farina and his wife for dinner. |
