| Title: | OCEAN’S ELEVEN |
| Year: | 1960 |
| Genre: | Comedy |
| Director: | Lewis Milestone |
| The players: | Frank
Sinatra
Dean Martin Sammy Davis, Jr. Peter Lawford Angie Dickinson |
| About the film: | The Rat Pack made several films during the 60’s which were, with few exceptions, utter failures. This is one of the exceptions(!) it is what I would call good looking nonsense. Danny Ocean summons ten men and arranges a robbery of five Las Vegas casinos simultaneously. The Rat Pack probably were more interested in having a good time than in making a good film. |

| Title: | OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN, AN |
| Year: | 1982 |
| Genre: | Drama |
| Director: | Taylor Hackford |
| The players: | Richard
Gere
Debra Winger David Keith Louis Gossett, Jr. Robert Loggia |
| About the film: | Love story about a young man who tries to structure up his life by joining the Marine Corps and become a pilot. Gere doesn’t seem like an officer at all, he lacks discipline and doesn’t seem militaristic. Gossett Jr is splendide as a screaming sergent, he was rewarded with an oscar. Gere meets a very pretty girl but their relationship is one of a few problems. For one thing he doesn’t want to marry her, actually he isn’t sympathetic at all. The end suggests that he finally has changed his mind and that they are right for each other. I think their happiness would last a few months, at the most. After this romantic yarn Gere didn’t star in one big hit until Pretty woman. |

Kelly
Frank Sinatra Jules Munshin Vera Ellen Ann Miller |
| About the film: | Three sailors has a 24 hour shoreleave in NY and they intend to do the town. The film is lively and ridiculous but it’s impossible to resist the pure cheerfulness that permeates the film, much thanks to Munshin and Betty Garrett but also to the rest of the cast. Part of the filming was done on location in NYC which is very unusual for an M-G-M musical. The musical numbers are funny and ingenious, it isn’t hard to see that they’re having a great time. It is the last and best of several Kelly/Sinatra-films, Kelly always got the leading role in these because he had the better looks. Impressive directional debut from Donen and Kelly, music by Leonard Bernstein. |
