The programme itself is forgettable, but during filming, Chamberlain did get to meet Kildare producer Douglas Benton for the first time.
"The first time I met him," recalls the veteran producer of many shows, including not only Kildare but the likes of Ironside, "was when he did a small part for me in an episode of the old TV show Thriller that we made with Boris Karloff. He was green, raw. He had only been acting for six or seven months. We had him in this little part mainly because of Monique's (his agent) insistence. And I thought to myself, 'another pretty boy. He doesn't seem strong enough to be a leading man.' Soon after, when I went over to work on Dr. Kildare, I was dumbfounded at how much he had learned."
