Vin turned around quickly, when he heard the sound behind him.  Oh God, there was another one
over there!  He was alone, and surrounded.  Dear God, he thought.  I have to find a way out of
here.  He tried to elude them, but there were just too many of them.  He really did think he'd
escaped them all, but just then an unseen opponent had snuck up behind him.  No!  He wasn't
gonna let this happen.  He tried to run, but found himself trapped in a nightmare.  It seemed like
everytime he thought he was free and clear, another one turned up.

"Vin, you might as well come on out.  You know we aren't going anywhere till you do."  One of
them from somewhere behind him yelled.

"I ain't gonna go down without a fight."  The tracker hollered back at his unseen opponents.

"Aw, come on Vin.  Don't make this any harder than it has to be."  This time the voice came from
off to his left a ways.

"I don't care what ya'll say, I ain't coming out."  Vin yelled back at his tormenters.

Finally a white flag appeared.  One of the pack, a little bolder than the rest stood upand called in
a gentle voice.  "Vin, how about I come up there alone, and we talk about this?"

"No way!"  Vin responded nastily.  "The last time I trusted one o' you, I almost got my hide coat
stole right off my back."

"But Vin, you know it's only cause we're worried about you."  The whiny voice came from up
ahead of him this time.

"Aw, hell!"  Vin cursed softly to himself.  Too dang many of them.  I might as well give up he
thought dejectedly.  "Iffen I come out peaceable like, will ya let me keep my coat on?"  He called
to the gang that surrounded him.

"What dya think?"  Carolyn asked Jo.

"No way!"  Tirya interjected before Jo could answer.  "We've been trying to get that damned coat
off of him for 2 years!"

Maggie and Cassie piped up together. "Why don't we just tell him he can keep it, and then we'll
get it off him in the sequel?"

Nancy had had enough of this nonsense.  "Vin Tanner, either you come out right now," she
threatened him, "or I'm gonna dump you back in that hole.  And, don't think I won't do it!"

Vin knew he was beaten.  He tried to keep some dignity about himself as he stood and leaned up
against the nearest tree.  They like when I lean he thought. Maybe if I smile real nice, those
doggone fic writers for stop hurting the hell outta me just so they got somebody ta comfort.

Poooor Vin, so delusional.  He must still have one of those nasty fevers Carolyn gave him. .  or
was it Maggie. . . No wait it was Nancy. . .no it had to be Jo. . .

Well that's it guys.  I hope I didn't make anybody mad.  And just so's ya'll know, I'm getting in on
the fun with my friend Shawna.  I just stabbed Ol Vin in the gut, and Shawna is gonna beat the
crud outta Ezra!
