Chris Larabee awoke in his room over the Saloon with a groan.   "Mr. Larabee how is your return to the land
of the living?"

Chris groaned, "Ezra, what happened?"

"Well, Mr. Larabee, it would appear that Miss Maggie exacted her revenge."

"How’d she out drink me Ezra?  She’s a woman.  A woman can’t out drink a man.  How’d she do it?"

"It would seem to me that Miss Maggie detests gambling as well..."

"What does gambling have to do with this?"

"Mr. Larabee , she left nothing to chance."

"Ezra, please.  My head is killin’ me, just spit it out."

"Well Mr. Larabee I’ll excuse your detestable use of the language, due to your current circumstances."

"EZRA!"  Chris was trying not to lose his temper but, he was failing.  I feel like I’m going to be sick he
thought to himself, I haven’t been sick from drinkin’ in a long time.  "Please, Ezra just tell me what you
know and leave me to die in peace."

"Now, Now Mr. Larabee no one is going to die, just remember I am merely the messenger and the messenger
never gets killed.  It would appear that Miss Maggie exchanged her bottle of tequila for water.  And one
can not get intoxicated off of water."  Ezra knew there was about to be an explosion he was just sorry
he had been chosen bearer of the dreadful news.

"SHE WHAT?!?  She lied to me.  I didn’t stand a chance of winnin’.  I shoulda known she wouldn’t fight fair.
All of this ‘cause Kelly was havin’ a bad day.  I didn’t put the bottle on her table.  I didn’t put it
in her glass.  I didn’t force her to get drunk. Shoot, if she wanted to drown her sorrows I’d a got
drunk with her.  I got to the Saloon to late, she was already drunk.  So what if I didn’t stop her.  It’s
her business, she’s an adult.  She can make her own choices."

"Yes, Mr. Larabee now that you have succeeded in waking the dead what do you suggest we do?"  Ezra
asked.

"DO? Do about what?"

"Revenge, Mr. Larabee, Revenge."  Ezra stated with a smile.

Chris decided his untimely death would have to wait. "OK Ezra get everyone together and meet in the Saloon.
Oh and Ezra have a pot of coffee ready will ya."

Later In The Saloon…..

Chris Larabee slowly sat down at a table that had a pot of coffee on it.  He noticed there was a member of
the seven missing.  "Where’s Vin?"

"It seems that Kelly saw Vin ill in the alley.  And with her being his comforter, well she talked Maggie
into letting her take Vin with them.  To comfort him she kept saying and something about whistling and Vin
having better lips.  I decided I didn’t want to hear further."

"THEY KIDNAPPED VIN!"  There was the explosion they all knew was coming.  "I can’t believe they would sink
this low.  Faking the drinking contest and now this.  Well, we’re gonna get ‘em back."

Buck Wilmington interrupted Chris tirade.  "Chris you’re talkin’ like they’re the enemy."

"They are!"

"Chris I don’t think I’ve seen a lovelier group of ladies.  Maybe we should just reason with them."  Buck
thought that if this could end peacefully he’d have much better success of some companionship tonight.

"There’s no reasonin’ with them anymore Buck.  They got me drunk and took Vin!"

"Chris, Vin went willingly."  Nathan couldn’t keep silent any longer.  "There was no force used.  I
reckon Vin just needed to be comforted."

"Don’t we all Bother Nate"  Josiah sighed.

"He was sick, he didn’t know what he was doing.  Vin wouldn’t join them."  Chris wished his head didn’t
feel like exploding.  Maybe then he could make sense of all this.

"Might a make a suggestion, gentleman?"  Ezra asked with a gold-tooth smile.

"What’s on your mind Ezra?"  Buck asked.

The Ladies Camp….

" How are you feelin’ Vin?" Kelly asked checking his forehead to make sure he wasn’t warm.

" I’m doin’ real good now.  Thanks for your help.  Ya think I can have my coat now?"  Vin asked .

" Vin, are you cold?"  When he shook his head no, Kelly continued " you don’t need to wear your buckskin
coat if you’re not cold."

"I know you like my harmonica playin’ Miss Kelly would you like me to play ya somethin’?"  Vin asked.

"No Vin ya need to take it easy but if ya wanna whistle that’s ok."

"Maggs, I’m really worried about her."  Cassie stated as she watched Kelly keep Vin’s coat and his harmonica
from him.

"What do you mean?" Maggie asked she had seen nothing strange from her friend.

"Her fascination with his lips for one thing."  Cassie answered.

"No, it’s his whole mouth.  And what’s wrong with that.  Come on Cass haven’t you ever watched him
whistle or pull the cork out of a canteen?" Maggie had quit talking and was daydreaming about the
tracker’s lips.

"Not you too.  Guys it’s not safe to keep Vin here.  You don’t think clearly when he’s around."  Cassie was
getting very concerned about her friends.

"It’s the LEAN"  Mog cried.  "Who else can LEAN like that?"

Kim had a dazed expression on her face and said in a dreamy voice  " Oh what I wouldn’t give to be his
gunbelt strapped to his leg."

The sound of horses thundering towards them stopped the conversation.

"Hello there Cassie darlin’"  Buck whispered with a wink.

"Vin are you ok?"  Chris asked as soon as he saw Vin sitting beside Kelly by the campfire.

"Yeah, Chris I’m fine.  They’ve takin’ real good care of me.  I haven’t had any kind of accidents.  I’ve not
been shot, stabbed, drugged or anything.  Just comforted.  These ladies ain’t so bad, Chris."

"Larabee, did you come here to pay up for our wager earlier?"  Maggie asked.

"You got your reward when I passed out drunk in the floor.  Now I’ve came for my own wager.  Your gonna
play Ezra in a game of chance."

"NO, I’m not.  Do you think I’m stupid Larabee?"

"Are you sayin’ you can’t play with the big boys." Chris taunted.

"Fine any wager you want just not playin’ Ezra in a card game."  Maggie glared at the man dressed in
black.

Chris smiled this was going to be so much easier than he thought.  " A real drinking contest.  You, me, Vin
and Kelly.  We pour shots from the same bottle so we know what we’re drinking."  Chris noticed Maggie was
getting a questioning look on her face.  " Maggie your not chicken are ya?"

"Fine Larabee!  Your on!  Kelly get over here.  You to Vin."

The drinking contest continued for quite awhile.  Ezra once again was placing bets on who was to win.  Little
did Chris and Maggie know that the winner had already been chosen.  It seems as if a certain group of ladies
and a certain group of men decided that the feud should really come to an end.

Maggie and Chris both had their heads laying on the table, neither one could take another drink.

"Vin, it’s all up to you now." Chris whispered to his best friend.

"Chris, I’m sorry but, I ain’t gonna go against Kelly she’s my comforter.  We decided to win together."

" What do ya mean, Vin?" Chris asked confused.

"Kelly, what’s he talking about?" Maggie asked as concerned and confused as Chris was.

" Simple,  we won.  We get to choose our prize and that would be for you and Chris to KISS and make up!?

"WHAT?"  Chris and Maggie screamed in unison.

"Come now a wager is a wager.  Pay up." Ezra laughed.

"Are ya scared Maggie?  I doubt Chris’ll bite ya unless ya ask him to that is."  Buck added.

Chris and Maggie decided that the best thing to do would be to kiss and get it over with.  Once they got
started it was once again a battle of wills as to who was going to end the kiss first with Ezra again taking
bets.
