Maggie's eyes widen. "You can't promise you'll never hurt him again! You ARE
getting soft!"

"No, I'm just turning over a new leaf. No more torturing the ones I love,
fictionally speaking of course. J.D.'s gonna be safe with me from now
on…"

"Okay, hold it right there. Have you been taking some of my meds. You
can't do this. Its not right. Its immoral, unjust, inhumane, and down
right ludicrus." Maggie sighed as she let out the last of her pent up
breath. "If you don't torture JD, you'll regret it the rest of your
life. I mean, how do you think Vin knows how much I care about him."

Penny raised a disbelieving brow to her 'abnormal' friend.

"So, I go a little overboard every now and then, but still he gets the
point. Remember when I crashed Cassie's story 'Angel of Mercy'." Maggs
waited while recognition came into the brunette's eyes. "Well, I left
them with a quote from Scorese or something like that. 'You have to love
something enough to kill it.' Give or take a word here and there."
Maggie swung her hand in the hair.

"But, Maggie. I'm afraid that after a while I'll begin to enjoy it so
much that I might do something I can't fix." Penn hung her head in shame
at the very thought.

"Nonsense. There's nothing we can't fix. And even if we can't fix it, we
can always call on others to help. Well, except for the Dark Quill. I'm
still not sure if I'm alive or dead. This limbo is a real bi---." Maggie
caught the warning glare from her friend and curbed her initial words.
"Anyway, see what I mean."

Penny mulled over the girl's wisdom and finally conceded. "Yeah. If I go
a little too far, I can always count on you or the others to help me
out." The brunette smiled suddenly and took back her letter.

"Well, how's the guilt?" Maggs leaned back in the grass and stared at
the clouds floating above her.

"I still feel kinda guilty, but as long as your around, I'll keep it in
check." Penn stuffed the note back in her book and got up to leave.
After she stood, she noticed Maggie wasn't following.

"Maggs, you coming?"

The dark haired girl slit her eyes open and gave her friend a maniacle
grin. "Do you think I'd get a lot of death threats if I happened to
'accidentally' write another deathfic?"

Penn's heart suddenly stopped beating. "Not JD!"

Maggs waved her hand at the brunette. "Of course not. Cassie's little
C-Harlot threat along with that MARY SUE drivel is still roaming around
in my brain. No, I was thinking more along the lines of Ezra." Maggie's
eyes twinkled with delight as she jumped up to stand by Penny.

"I think you better ask Mog."
