A long time ago, in the galaxy far away…

______" The power is strong in the dark side…" Hitomi sat mesmerized as she watched the old man hand a small metallic tube to his protégé, stopping only to pop a handful of popcorn into her mouth. "…let the force be with you, always."

______She stared wide-eyed as the boy switched the light saber on and started on his quest for the galaxy’s freedom. She was about to pop another handful into her mouth when Yukari accidentally bumped the tub of popcorn with her hand, causing it to spill its contents all over Hitomi. She yelped and glared at her best friend’s direction but Yukari didn’t seem to notice as she was busy lip-locking with Amano in the dark theater. Gads, they weren’t even paying attention to the movie anymore!

______Grumbling, Hitomi stood up and moved one row down and sat to finish the movie in peace. Yukari and Amano didn’t even seem to notice she had left. Rolling her eyes, she turned back to the large screen and watched in complete interest till the end credits began rolling by. She stood up and stretched herself, looking at where Yukari and Amano were still busy making out, oblivious of the crowd leaving beside them. Sighing, Hitomi tapped her best-friend softly to indicate that they should be getting home and the three left the theatre in embarrassed silence.

______Outside Yukari turned to Hitomi, smiling tentatively as she wrapped her arm around Amano’s waist," Well, what did you think of the movie?" Hitomi looked at the happy couple now and shrugged, feeling so much like the fifth wheel. " It was pretty good. I especially liked the light sabers. And the part where the guy gets frozen solid. How about you?"

______Yukari blushed and tried avoiding her friend’s gaze. " Yeah, um..me too." Hitomi had to hold herself from bursting out in laughter. It was obvoius that Yukari had eyes for only one thing…and it certainly wasn’t the movie screen!

______" The movie was pretty cool. If only we could like, live in another galaxy and have all those cool space cruisers, life would be awesome, huh?" he asked Hitomi, smiling at her. Hitomi smiled back. " You never know, Amano-senpai. That just might be possible."

______Yukari laughed. " My best friend, the ever -present optimist and dreamer. What will we do without you?!" Hitomi shrugged. " Things can happen." She smiled to herself, thinking carefully of Gaea. Yes, sometimes things like that were actually possible.

______They stopped at Hitomi’s house and she bade her friends farewell before retreating inside the house and up her room. Drawing back the curtains, she lay down on her bed and raised her eyes slowly to stare at the full moon illuminating the night sky. Somewhere out there, there lay a world, so much different from her own. A world called Gaea.

______Somewhere out there, there stood a king; ruler of a kingdom called Fanelia.

______And somewhere out there, there was a connection, between two hearts and two minds that would meet again someday…some way…somewhere out there…

______She was sure of it.

______A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away… there existed a mutual agreement for peace between the alien races and space colonies. The space colonial government ruled the galaxy and the Jedi knights protected the peace of the universe. Many colonies were headed by the Royal Monarchy and all was well…

______Well, it was until a few years ago when a small significant planet created a huge time rift between the galaxies with their stupid machine-like city that they ingeniously called " The Absolute Good Fortune Utopia" or the fate controlling device. By activating it, the power of the gods of Atlantis was unleashed and thus created an imbalance in nature.

______Two years after Dornkirk died, he had ressurrected into another paradox and through means of the black nebula, he was able to transport himself into another galaxy. Since the balance of time and space had shifted slightly, many things had been going astray lately and there appeared the presence of the ever famous star wars and certain intergalactic invasions. Drawn to the Dark Side (well, he always was a leading antagonist anyway!) Dornkirk became an emperor to a large planetary battle station called the Death Star and proceeded to try to change the world once more…this time with his newest craze: space cruisers and laser guns galore! Of course, he needed a very trusty captain to do the work for him and knowing he couldn’t call on Folken, he called for the next best thing…

______Dilandau: Next best thing?!! You mean the only good thing!

______Alright, alright…anyway, he got Dilandau, now known as Dragon Vader or Darth Slayer (take your pick, it’s all the same anyway!) and with the rest of his troops they proceeded to, erm, burn down the galaxy and eradicate the peace force that was fighting against them. The dark side was getting more powerful with each step and the presence of Jedi knights was needed once more…

______Of course, because of the stupid interference of the Fate Changing Device, the generations of Skywalkers ceased to exist as the powerful protectors of the universe, but instead remained as lonely farmers on the planet Anshar. So the teachers of the Force set out to look for their strongest Jedi knight…and found nothing.

Obi Wan Kenobi: " Shit! This is the last time I’m listening to you. I told you looking in the Aurora mountains was a stupid idea! I had to carry you the whole way! Do you know how heavy you are?!"

Yoda: " Don’t be so hot-tempered, my friend or the Dark Side will get you…"

Obi Wan Kenobi: " Well, I certainly hope they’ll hurry up if it means getting me away from you!"

Yoda: *glares at his companion " Forget this nonsense, we have a Jedi to find! We’ve looked everywhere and still nothing but incompetent fools with the sword! What are we going to do now?!"

Obi Wan Kenobi: " Well, I do have one idea…"

Yoda: " Oh no…"

Obi Wan Kenobi: " Hey, at least it’s certainly better than you’re whole "hiking" idea! "

Yoda: " Alright, my friend, what is it?"

Obi Wan Kenobi: " Well, I recently read a book and I heard about this thing called the ‘summoning of seishis .’ You become a Miko and then you summon people who would protect you… maybe we could do the same for the galaxy, cause we’re obviously never going to be able to find him ourselves! "

Yoda: " I suppose…eh, what the hell! Desperate times call for desperate measures. What do we do? "

Obi Wan Kenobi: *lights a fire on the altar " Well, we’re gonna be praying then we’ll be waiting…"

Yoda: *bows his head anxiously " Let’s just hope the Force makes the right decision and brings us someone who can defeat the Emperor…"

In other parts of the universe…

______" SERENA?!!! SERENA!!!" Allen screamed as he ran outside for the umpteenth time that day. "Serena, where are you?!" Grabbing his sword he ran back to the place where he had left her that morning. He had been gone only for a few minutes and when he had gone back she had just suddenly disappeared. No, he thought with growing worry, not another abduction! Don’t tell me I’ve lost her again?! No…not again!!!

______" Allen- san, what’s wrong?" the black haired young man asked as he walked up to his friend, his cat companion trailing by his side. Allen lay scrunched up on the ground looking as if he was about to cry.

______" Van, Serena’s disappeared once more… they’ve…they’ve kidnapped her again! Oh hell, I wasn‘t there to save her!!"

______Allen continued to bash his fist into the ground and Van awkwardly put a hand on his friend’s shoulder. He exchanged a look with the cat-girl, pleading to her to help him. " Maybe she just wandered off, " Meruru provided, kneeling beside the blonde swordsman, " Have you tried looking?"

______" I’ve looked everywhere!" Allen said exasperated. " She’s gone…all gone…and it’s all my fault!" Meruru bit her lip, exchanging another look with Van when she suddenly remembered. " The pendant!" she said, pointing at the chain that hung on Van’s neck, " Why don’t you use the pendant to locate her?! Didn’t Hitomi use that once to find Van?"

______Allen looked up excitedly. " Of course! The pendant!," he said, grabbing the chain from Van before his friend could react.

______" Now wait just a minute…" Van said nervously. Meruru shot him a look and turned to Allen eagerly, hoping her idea had worked. Allen closed his eyes and tried concentrating on thoughts about his sister. A large gust of wind suddenly blew past them and Meruru grabbed Van’s arm, cuddling closer for warmth. After a few minutes, Allen opened his eyes once more and shook his head sadly. He returned the pendant to Van and sighed, " Still no clue. I can’t seem to find any lingering traces of her anywhere around here…"

______Allen looked down in disappointment, his shoulders drooping low and Van couldn’t help but stare at the pendant in his hand. If only Hitomi was here…He was sure she could find Allen’s sister with her amazing psychic powers. Closing his hand on the pendant, he remembered once more just how much he missed her. Meruru, seeing the whole group sad, couldn’t help feeling sad herself. She softly lay her head on her best friend’s shoulder, joining the group in their sad thoughts.

______All three sat in silence until this bright beam of light came careening down from the heavens, creating a large pillar of light around the three of them. Before anyone could react, they felt themselves being pulled up from the ground and sucked into the pillar of light.

Hitomi, Van thought, closing his eyes.

Serena, Allen thought, hoping the pillar of light would bring him to where she was right now.

Meruru, meanwhile, just held on tighter to Van’s arm as they floated softly high above the sky and into the heavens.

______Hitomi awoke to the distant sound of flapping wings. Looking out her window she saw a small white feather float past her and land on the window sill. Hesitantly she reached out to touch it before it quickly dissolved into thin air.

______Van, she thought, he’s calling me! Hitomi stuck her head outside the window and the sound of flapping wings reached her ears once more. It seemed to be coming from the roof and Hitomi cranned her neck to see if she could find anything. Biting her lip, she slowly climbed out of her window and with the help of a large branch hanging over the drain pipe she pulled herself up to reach the roof.

______It was empty.

______Hanging on to the drain pipe she cranned her neck further to see if she could spot any movement coming from the farther side but before she could push herself up completely she felt the pipe crack in front of her and she felt herself falling through the air.

______She screamed as she dropped downwards but before she could hit the ground she saw a large beam of light descend upon her. Closing her eyes , she sighed in relief.

______Van, she thought quietly, You’ve saved my life again.

______But just as suddenly as it had appeared, the beam of light suddenly disappeared from around her and Hitomi felt herself falling once more…straight into a large cushioned bed! Gasping, she looked around as feathers filled the air from the initial contact and she found herself in a large, well-furnished room, a dead woman at her feet. Hitomi just stared at the corpse, hoping everything she was seeing was all a bad dream but the dead woman stayed the same: unmoving and bleeding all across the carpet.

______Gulping, Hitomi stuck a foot out to nudge the body and it rolled over easily, revealing a very beautiful woman with a bloody knife in one hand and a letter in the other. Not knowing what else to do, Hitomi took the knife from the woman’s hand and hid it neatly in the cabinet, just in case she was still alive and decided to kill her as well. Carefully side-stepping the body, she moved to the doorway and tried to walk out when she realized that the door was locked from the outside.

______What is going on here? she thought in confusion. She was saved from her fall to be brought instead to this glamour-studded room, locked in with a dead woman! Hitomi looked back to where the woman lay, the letter still clutched firmly in her hand. Out of sheer curiosity and the need for answers, Hitomi forced herself to entangle the letter from within the woman’s grasp and check its contents. As she opened the small envelope, a tiny disc slipped on to her lap accompanied with a small note.

______Hitomi raised the note to the light and realized that it was written in a different language. For some inexplicable reason though, the symbols started jumbling before her eyes and before she knew it she could read the blurred out letters. The woman had killed herself out of grief for her people and in hopes that the Imperial Forces would think that they had buried the important information only available to her, along with her body. She was a princess of noble birth and the disc enclosed in the letter included the valuable information the enemy’s troops needed for their secret weapon. The letter was intended for somebody though. Probably the princess hoped that someone would find her and deliver the message to the person.

______" But who in the world is Obi Wan Kenobi?" Hitomi thought aloud. Suddenly she heard the door being rammed through and Hitomi quickly hid the letter and the disc inside the inner pocket of her shorts. A large troop of soldiers came barging through and they grabbed Hitomi roughly by the arm.

______" Princess, you’re under arrest! No need to struggle, you’re coming with us!"

______" W-wait, I’m not the Princess!" Hitomi protested but the soldier continued dragging her with him. A thin courtier suddenly approached her, having recently escaped from the clutches of one of the guards. " No please, don’t hurt her!" he pleaded loudly. Turning to Hitomi he said apologetically, " I’m so sorry, Princess! We tried to protect you…we did. But they were just too strong!" Hitomi stared at him in disbelief. " But I’m not…don’t you know who your Princess is?!"

______By that time, one of the guards had arrested the man once more and he shouted back as they dragged him away from her, " Of course, ma’am! You are! And you always will be our Princess, no matter wh—"

______Hitomi’s eyes widened as she heard a loud slashing noise accompanied by the man’s scream before his head fell to pieces on the floor. Turning her head away, Hitomi was sure she was ready to throw up. The soldier holding on to her dragged her across the court and out into the street. Outside, she saw thousands of villagers calling out to her, apologizing, and pleading to the guards to spare her life…to spare their princess’ life. It suddenly occurred to Hitomi that they all probably have never seen their princess and since she was in the same room, they figured she was the princess. Hitomi couldn’t help laughing as they boarded the ship. The irony of the situation was too hilarious. The whole thing looked like it came out of some weird movie. Whoever thought that a simple girl like her would be mistaken for a princess? And in a t-shirt and shorts too!

______The laughter immediately died in her throat though as she looked out the window and saw the huge battle-station they were bringing her to. She suddenly remembered the sci-fi movie she had watched with Yukari and Amano and she felt herself go cold. The soldier who had arrested her grabbed her once more by the arm and pushed her to the large sliding door. For some reason, Hitomi had a feeling she knew what would happen next, and just as she had thought, the large door slid open to reveal a dark-robed figure with a large mask on his face, carrying a blow torch.

______" Well, well, princess," the figure said snidely," We’ve caught you at last. You know what we want, and you’d better hand them over now …or else we might just decide to have a royal barbecue!"

______Hitomi looked at the figure closely. Haven’t I heard that voice before…? She glared at him defiantly. " Over my dead body!"

______" My pleasure!" he said, holding the blow torch in front of her, almost frying her nose in the process. Hitomi’s eyes widened. No, it can’t be! she thought incredulously.

______The dark figure threw back his head and let out the most maniacal laugh Hitomi had ever heard. A laugh that she knew belonged to only one person. Oh no, she thought as she watched him fire up the torch once more, it is him!!

______Before they knew it, Hitomi had fainted dead away, the sound of laughter echoing across the hallway and into the darkness…
