muppets

Did you know that the word "muppet" is taken from the words "puppet" and "marionette", because the Muppets are a mixture of both. Sesame Street was the first Muppet production, but soon the Muppets had a show of their own: The Muppet Show
The Muppet Show ran for five years, 1976-1980, with a grand total of over 120 episodes (each with a special guest). The Muppets were created by Jim Henson (seen in the picture with Kermitt). Sadly Jim Henson died but his work still goes on. Most recently The Muppets Tonight was shown on British television in 1996. Two Muppet movies have graced the movie scene since 1990, and all in all, Jim's work lives on. These pages are a celebration of all things Muppetational
