Character
Seaman Tony Piccolo
Delinquent overseeing most of seaQuest's
electrical systems.
Given gill-like breathing organs as a result of scientific experiments,
permitting him to work underwater without an air source.
His additude adds a whole new atmosphere to the seaQuest, and his jokes and pranks are hilarious. Tony has gills and can swim like a fish, and sometimes you wonder if they experimented on more than just his lungs. But beneath the huge attitude and the horrid sense of humor is a great guy who cares about his friends and has dreams of one day becoming captain of his own ship.
Biography:
Michael DeLuise
he plays on "seaQuest 2032." "The seaQuest is a military operation and Piccolo is a military bad boy, so it is fun to shake things up on the sub," adds actor. DeLuise - who shares "seaQuest 2032" screen credits with his older brother Peter (as Dagwood) - was born into a family of entertainers. He is the middle son in a family that includes his comedian/actor father, Dom; his actress mother, Carol; and his younger brother, David, also an actor. Having made movies on 8-millimeter film at age 7, DeLuise knew early that he wanted to work in show business. But it was not until he began driving at age 17, that his parents would let him work professionally. He won his first role on the TV series "One Big Family" with Danny Thomas, which led to roles in a variety of television and film projects. DeLuise's feature-film credits include "The Man Without a Face," starring Mel Gibson, "Encino Man," "Wayne's World" and "Midnight Edition," in which he played a deranged 19-year-old killer. This year DeLuise made his directorial and writing debut with the short film "Prey of Innocence," which premiered at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences theater in Los Angeles. DeLuise may be best-known for his work starring in the last season of "21 Jump Street," on which he also co-starred with his brother Peter, playing his brother on that series. His other TV credits include a recurring role as the son of Dennis Franze's character on "NYPD Blue" and a regular role on "One of the Boys," with Maria Conchita Alonso. Additionally, DeLuise guest-starred on "L.A. Law" and "Amazing Stories."
DeLuise is single and lives in Los Angeles when he is not in Florida filming "seaQuest 2032."
