The Screwing of John Keel

16th of April 1999

John Keel author of "Mothman Prophecies" is being screwed out of any income from the film of the same name based on his book. For 2 reasons (as listed in Cinescape). 1. The book is based on a true story so Keel needs not approve of the use of his story (even if it is about aliens that kidnap decent folk- wow does this mean they're really out there for legal reasons only??). 2. Keel did not trademark his books name, so Hollywood can use it. This is the second movie being based on the Urban Legend that Keel writes about the first (Indie) is near completion whilst the (Hollywood) other is yet to get off the ground, although Richard Gere has been cast in it. The Indie film is just called "Mothman" click here to go to the official site.
