Well another little bit on censoring media came up again in Colorado.
As I have covered it in the boycott of shows before I will continue. Denver TV stations, still reeling from last week's violence
at Columbine High School in nearby Littleton, are considering preempting
numerous network and syndicated shows that could be upsetting to the local
audience. Today's (Thursday) Washington Post observed that ABC affiliate
KMGH has already pulled the network broadcast
of Mr. Murder (1998) (TV) (which concludes tonight). NBC affiliate KUSA
is considering yanking the miniseries Atomic Train, which begins Sunday,
about a nuclear bomb that threatens Denver. (Network execs reportedly considered
eliminating the Denver references, but determined that there were simply
too many of them.) CBS affiliate KCNC-TV has preempted this Saturday's The
Howard Stern Radio Show following an uproar over his comments on radio last
week when he wondered whether the two teen aged killers had tried "to
have sex with any of the good-looking girls" at the school. On Wednesday,
the Colorado Senate passed a bill formally censuring Stern and calling on
his radio outlet, KXPX to drop him.
