Wednesday the 1st of September 1999.
Well August was a huge month for HFA.. Over
the pages and pages of stuff I have marked for calaculating stats through
HITBOX.. I can safely say that the total amount of hits for HFA in August
is the largest it has ever been: over 8,886..
Well how does that break down.. What films were people coming into look
for?? What were people most interested in.. Well here is the top 10 HFA
sites for August. It is amazing how many times TBWP pops up. As we move
into HFA's 1st birthday month September.
#1: The Road Rules Project
(A HFA SPoof/ SPOTlight)... 3652 hits over its 12 pages.
OF all the people that visited "The Road Rules Project" only 6
people found "Sarah's Journal".. SoI guess I have hidden it to
well. Fans of the original HAXAN Blair Witch site would love to find that
journal I'm sure, by clicking around etc.. But instead I think in the coming
days I'll list it in the nav bar. TRRP went down for a couple of days over
August an I apologise for that. The reason this section was so popular is
clearly because of the timing (upong the US release) and three other ver
important factors.. 1) TBWP Webring, which lead to 2) an article on spoofs
at NEWSWEEK.com, this sparked interest and a favourable review at 3) Yahoo..
Answer = success.
#2: The Blair Witch Project News Archive
on HFA... 1 page 2085 hits.
The news sections I only started watching this month.. When the stats went
through the roof on this particular page I can clearly say that I said the
words.. "HELLO!" out loud.. I had not listed the page on any search
engines and had not joined TBWP webring. But it happened and I'm thankfull.
Since than I joined TBWP webring and the page has contined it's successes.
#3: The Main HFA Page.. 1 page 1740
hits.
This is the page that you enter on and the one that I use as the navigation
page for users.. As is the joy of Hypertext, a user doesn't need this page
on the internet, as you can turn to any page you want from anywhere in the
world and find what you are looking for. If you know how to get there. However
to all that are REGular visitors on HFA, you would know that the front page,
is where you hear everything first.
#4: Stop It, You're Killing Me:
Unofficial Site (HFA).. 512 hits since Aug 13, over it's 11 pages.
What can I say.. This is great news for Indie film-making.. 3 out of the
top four HFA sites have been part of that kingdom of films. The film in
question here, is yet to even get a distribution deal and it seems that
people are keen to get on top of the film and ride it to the video shop
or box office.. I personally can't wait to see the film, hence the reason
I set it up. In a time when horror has got so serious, it's great to sit
back and just laugh.
#5: Film News Listed Alpha... 169 hits.
This is the site where people find the upcoming horror films and their respective
news archives. There are a HECK of a lot of films listed now.. I really
got to go through and check up on all of those films more regularly.. But
who has the time?? REally Horror is everywhere these days boys and Girls..
#6: The Blair Witch Project Trailer
Review.. 103 hits.
I'm glad you like to read trailer reviews.. Even more than the actual film
reviews.. I'd stopped putting them out because I thought no body cared..
But I was wrong.. The other big winners in the trailer reviews were, End
of Days and the Godzilla 2000 teaser..
#7: Cahiers du alt.horror: 93 hits.
This is the alt.horror webring site.. I'm such a slack ass when it comes
to the webring.. Look at how many people visited the page and I did nothing
to it all month.. This month I'm going to have to make up for it.. I think
the webring currently has about 16 sites in it.. Always looking for any
other horror we can get.
#8: News Main.. 83 hits.
This is the page that lists the news by the month and is basically the NEWS
nexus on the site.. But for latest news always check the MAIN PAGE.
#9: The Blair Witch Project Reviews..
77 hits
Well a whole bunch of people went into the review site expecting to get
a whole bunch of reviews.. And there is still only one.. Please feel free
to email any reviews.. I'll post them.. I actually have yet to see the film
because I'm in OZ, but tell you this much.. I got a ticket for FREE.. So
yay.. Thank you Village Roadshow and Jack Simm. So as soon as I see the
film I'll post my review..
#10.. The Crow: Stairway to Heaven TV HFA
news archive. 54 hits.
Well fans of the series really must love the show.. The axe swings left
and right all over it.. But the chance of the series being revived is keeping
people rolling into the TV news section. I have yet to see an episode of
the show, but by the number of hits it is getting (More hits than Crow 3
Movie news archive) I can assume that is a show to keep an eye out for.
The other TV show that is ranking high is not Buffy or Angel, but ROSWELL
seems there are a lot of people keen on that series and GvsE. If I did a
Top 11 Roswell would have made it in.
Other interesting things.. The Haunting 1963 SPOTlight was well hit..
The Ed Sanchez interview was the most popular interview and Arlington Road
was of intrigue. The usual string of sequel lovers keep Freddy Vs Jason
and Scream 3 alive.
Well what has happened to Australian Horror releases I hear you scream..
Well the JLC flick "VIRUS" has now moved back from it's release
of last week to some time in November. The Haunting was supposed to release
this week.. But instead "Thirteenth Floor" will open.. "The
Haunting" will go up against "Deep Blue Sea" at Holiday period
on the 26 of Sept.. 13th Warrior is a Nov 4, while Idle Hands is now Nove
18. Lake Placid has been kicked next week to Oct 28 with "The Bone
Collector".. While everything else stays kind of the same. |
