Detective Conan is a japanese comic series written by Gosho Aoyama.  Now in Japan there have been 29 volumes and 11 completed special volumes.  It is made into an animation series in Japan and 4 movies, now you can still find it on Monday, 19:30 in Yomiuri TV, Japan. 

The beginning

Shinichi Kudo is a famous high school detective in Tokyo, Japan.  He always solve difficult cases that can't be uncover by police.  One day, when investigating some suspicious guys from a dark organization who wore black dresses top to bottom, Shinichi got catched and he was forced to drink poison by them.  Luckily, Shinichi was alive, but his body shrinked into a little boy.

Conan Edogawa

Because it is dangerous for people surround him if the black dresses guys know the truth that he still alive, Shinichi decided to hide his identity and use a cover name : CONAN EDOGAWA.  Conan is taken from Sir Conan Doyle, the author of Sherlock Holmes, while Edogawa is taken from Edogawa Ranpo, a famous Japanese mystery writer.   

In the Ran's House

Professor Agasa, the only person who know the secret, advised Conan to stay in Ran's house. Ran is Shinichi's closefriend.  The reason is because Ran's father, Kogoro Mouri, is a detective and there is a big possibility to find any subject related to the dark organization.  Conan agreed, so he stayed in her house without telling the truth to Ran and her father.  Unfortunately, Kogoro is a bad detective, so he only got few cases.  Conan must help him solve those cases secretly with the help of Professor Agasa's tools, and make him famous. 

Detective Boys

To fooled the people, Conan advised to go to school like other 6 years old kids.  So he return to his former school, Teitan primary school.  Conan and his -6 years old- friends (Genta, Ayumi, Mitsuhiko) formed a detective groups in the school.   They have badgets from Prof. Agasa with the name : Detective Boys.  They often help Police solve cases  (Of course with Conan's help).
