Characters: Jake and Vicky
Setting: The Cottage
(Vicky and Jake cleaning up from dinner)
Jake: (looks at his watch) Wow, it's 10 already.
Vicky: Are you serious? Where’d the time go?
Jake: (kissing Vicky’s neck) Good question, but I know what I wanna
do with the rest of my night.
Vicky: (seductively) I wonder what that could be?
Jake: (whispering in Vic’s ear) Leave this mess for the morning.
Vicky: I’ll race you upstairs.
(Jake and Vicky race up the stairs)

Scene 9
Character: Jake and Vicky
Setting: Bedroom, the next morning
(Vicky is sound asleep, Jake watching her sleep and brushing the hair out of her face)
Jake: (whispering) Vic, Vic, honey, wake up.
(Vicky sleeping with a smile on her face)
Jake: She must be dreaming of me.
(Enter Vicky’s dream, song playing in background “Isn’t She Lovely” by
Stevie Wonder)
(Donna, Steven and Kirkland at the cottage, enter Jake and Vicky with their baby daughter
in Vicky’s arms)
Jake: We’re home.
(Boys fighting over who gets to see the baby first)
Vicky: (whispering) Boys, be quiet she is sleeping, you will both get a
chance to see and hold her, just relax.
(Vicky sits on the couch with the baby, the boys sit next to her)
Jake: SO what do you guys think of your new baby sister?
Steven: She’s so tiny.
Vicky: The two of you were this tiny when I brought you home from the
hospital.
Kirkland: Nooo, I was never that tiny.
Vicky: You wanna bet, I have the pictures to prove it.
Kirkland: I’m just happy I don’t have to be the baby anymore.
Donna: I’m just glad that I now have a granddaughter to spoil.
Jake: Nobody is gonna spoil my daughter but me.
Vicky: and what am I, chopped liver? I was the one who was in labor
for 18 hours, I have every right to spoil my only daughter.
Jake: Don't you mean our only daughter.
(Jake, Vicky and the boys are on the couch lokoing lovingly at the baby)
Donna: Now that’s a Kodak moment.
(End Dream)
(Vicky rolls over to find Jake gone, and wakes up)
Vicky: Jake, Jake, where are you?
(Sees note on Jake’s pillow, picks it up and reads it)
(Voice over)
Jake: Hey Vicky, I tried to wake you, but you looked like you were have a
great dream, (hope it was about me), so I decided to let you sleep, I am taking Steven and
Kirkland to Donna’s. Then I have some errands to run. I’ll be home later..Love
ya Jake.
Vicky: Ok Jake, you just better be home by 7.

Scene 10
Characters: Jake and Chris
Setting: Woman’s clothing store
(Jake wlaking around trying to get an idea. Chris smeaking around trying not to be
noticed)
Jake: (looking around for Chris) Chris? Chris? Buddy? Where
are you?
Chris: (getting annoyed) Shhhh!!! Yo, man, shut up.
Jake: (playfully) Oh, come on man, it could be worse.
Chris: (serious) How could it possibly get any worse then this? I am in a
woman’s clothing store shopping with another man.
Jake: Well, lets see, someone you know could just happen to come in here. You know..
someone like let’s say, Toni..
Chris: (while picking up some provaocative item) Man, don’t even
play. (holds it up to himself) What do you think of this?
Jake: (looking disgusted) I like it, until you held it up to yourself.
But I have to say that’s a great color for you.
Chris: Go to hell. I am never shopping with you again.
Jake: (picking something up off the rack) Now this is perfect. We’re
outta here.
Chris: Thank god!!!
(Jake’s cell phone rings)
Jake: Mckinnon. NO, I’m not doing it... It’s my anniversary.
Get Walsh to do it? (pause) Oh he is? Everyone is? What about Amanda? (pause) Are
you kidding? Fine, where is it? Chicago?!? Fine, I’ll go but I better be home by 7.
(Angrily hangs up the phone)
Chris: What was that about?
Jake: Miller is in the hospital, and can’t do his story in Chicago,
and I have to do it, and I have to be there as soon as possible. Everyone else has
assignments.
Chris: What about your anniversary?
Jake: Tell me about it. I just have to be home by 7. Right now, I have to
call Vic, and tell her. She is not gonna be happy.
(dials the phone)
(We see the phone ringing in the cottage and answering machine picks up)
Answering Machine: (Vicky’s Voice) You’ve reached the McKinnon
house. Nobody is home to take your call, but if you leave your name and number we’ll
get back to you ASAP. and if this is Jake you better be home by 7.
Jake: Okay, guess you’re in the shower or something. I’m just
calling to say I have to go to Chicago on assignment, but I promise I will be home by 7. I
Love You.
(Hangs up the phone, pays for item and leaves)
