Characters: Vicky & Jake
Setting: The Cottage & Jake’s car
(Vicky is pacing the house, constantly looking at her watch)
Vicky: (growing concerned) Where is he? He
should have been home or at least called
me by now.
(Vicky picks up the phone and begins to dial)
Vicky: (con’t) His phone is either off or
dead. I hope he is all right.
Cut to:
(Jake lying in the car covered in blood and not moving, as we
hear sirens in the background)

Scene 26
Characters: Chris, Joe and Josie
Setting: BCPD & Crash site
(Joe is at his desk, as Chris enters)
Chris: Hey Joe, Where’s Toni?
Joe: (not looking up at Chris) She and Josie are
out on Route 9, there was a bad car accident.
(Joe’s phone rings)
Joe: (picks up the phone) Carlino. Hey Josie, is
everything OK?
Josie: Not really, Joe, that accident you sent
us out to investigate, it’s Jake McKinnon
Joe: WHAT?? Is he hurt bad?
(Chris looks on concerned)
Josie: Looks that way, they are loading him into
an ambulance right now. You better call Vicky and let her know.
Joe: Actually, I’ll go over there and tell
her. I don’t want her driving after she finds out. Thanks
for calling Josie.
(Hangs up)
Chris: What’s going on?
Joe: Chris, that car accident on Route 9, it was
Jake’s car. Josie said he is in bad shape. they are taking
him to the hospital right now. I gotta go tell Vicky. Oh god,
Paulina also.
Chris: No way man, can’t be Jake. he should’ve
been home by now. Look Joe, you go tell Paulina, I’ll go
tell Vicky and bring her to the hospital.
Joe: You sure, man?
Chris: Yeah, your gonna have your hands full
with Paulina, I wanna do this for Jake.
Joe: OK
(We fade out as Joe and Chris take off out the door)

Scene 27
Character Vicky, Chris, Joe and Paulina
Setting: Vicky & Chris at the cottage, Joe & Paulina the
restaurant
(Vicky is still pacing the house, a frightened look on her face)
Vicky: He probably hit traffic and his phone is
dead, he will be home soon.
(She hears a car door slam and runs to the door and opens it, and
see Chris walking towards the door)
Vicky: Where is he, Chris?, Have you heard from
him?
(She notices Chris is upset)
Vicky: (con’t) What is it? What’s
wrong?
Chris: Vicky, I think we should go inside.
Vicky: It’s Jake, isn’t it? what
happened?
Chris: Can we please go inside?
(They both head in the house)
Chris: I think you should sit.
Vicky: (looking scared) NO! just tell me.
Chris: Vicky, Jake was in a car accident on
Route 9, he is in bad shape. They are taking him to the hospital.
(Vicky’s face turns white as a sheet and she faints in Chris’s
arms)
Chris: Vicky, Vicky, Are you OK?
(starting to come around)
Vicky: Yeah, I’m fine, what happened to him?
Chris: I don’t know the details, I came
here to take you to the hospital.
Vicky: Then lets go.
Cut to Joe and Paulina in Carlino’s
(Paulina is at the counter and turns to see Joe walking in)
Paulina: Hey sweetheart, what are you doing here
so early?
Joe: (serious look on his face) Honey, there is
something I need to tell you.
Paulina: (getting scared) What is it, what
happened?
Joe: (trying to calm her) It’s Jake, he was
in a car accident, he is being taken to the hospital.
(As he finishes his sentence Paulina races out the door)
