Jake's Dream, Part 5

SCENE 19

FADE IN: The Cory Estate is full with Matthew, Racheal, and Carl. Jake barges in the door and heads directly for the living room.

MATTHEW: [seeing Jake enter and walks straight for him] So, what did you do this time?

JAKE: [holding up his hand in Matthew’s face] Sit down, before you get hurt!

MATTHEW: [getting in Jake’s face] What did you say?

RACHEL: [walking in between them] That’s enough! We need to find Allie, and this is not the way to do it!

CARL: [walking to pour a drink] She’s right. Fighting amongst ourselves will only lead to anarchy

MATTHEW: [looking at Jake] There’s a big word. Do you know what it means?

JAKE: [watching Matt circle behind the couch, getting a little irritated] Where’s Amanda?

CARL: [walking to hand Jake the drink] She’s upstairs in Allisandra’s room [gestures the drink to Jake]

JAKE: [walks past the drink in Carl’s hand] I need to talk to you later. But, right now, I need to see Amanda.

FADE OUT: Rachel and Matt are sitting on the couch, as Carl stands holding the glass.   Jake heads out of the living room and up the stairs to Allie’s room.

SCENE 20

FADE IN: Vicky and Steven are still locked arm in arm as they approach the door of the Cory Estate. Vicky knocks on the door and Carl answers the door.

CARL: [holding the door open] Yes.

VICKY: [looking at Carl] I think I really have the wrong house.

CARL: [looking down at the boy] I will be the judge of that.

VICKY: [looking a little embarrassed] Is a person by the name of Jake Mckinnon here?

CARL: [gesturing a warm invitation into the house with his hand] Come in. He will be right down.

FADE OUT: Vicky and Steven head into the house and await Jake’s return to the living room.

SCENE 21

FADE IN: Amanda sits on the bed looking at Buster the Turtle’s empty glass container and is frantically searching for the turtle itself. Jake enters the room and sees Amanda with tears in her eyes and sitting on the bed.

JAKE: [standing still in the door frame and whispers] Amanda . . . [getting no response, and speaks a little louder] Amanda . . . [still no response. Jake walks toward the bed and sits beside Amanda]

AMANDA: [still looking at the empty case that is on the floor] She wouldn’t leave without . . .

JAKE: [ bending down to pick up the turtle container] I know.

AMANDA: [looking at Jake who is looking at the empty glass case] Why?

JAKE: [looking Amanda in the face and shakes his head no]

AMANDA: [looking Jake in his eyes with her pleading eyes]

JAKE: [takes his hand and places it on her cheek and wipes away a tear] I will find her.

AMANDA: [still with Jake’s hand on her cheek and shakes her head yes] I know!

FADE OUT: Jake helps Amanda off the bed and they both head downstairs to where everybody else is. We see the pan of the camera shoot to the floor where the turtle comes from underneath the bed and crawls on the floor.

SCENE 22

FADE IN: Jake and Amanda come down the stairs and into the living room to see Vicky, Steven, the rest of the Cory clan, and Joe Carlino.

JAKE: [looking irritated] What are you doing here?

JOE: [turning around to face him after talking to Matt] Good . . .

JAKE: [looking at Vicky] Shut up Carlino! I meant her.

CARL: [walking to the coffe table to put down some food for Steven] She was looking for you.

AMANDA: [looking shocked and staring at Vicky] That’s her! She’s the one that you are looking for.

JAKE: [looking at Vicky and then to Amanda]

AMANDA: [getting hysterical] You. You are the one that. . . [getting ready to go after Vicky]

JAKE: [grabbing her by the waist] She’s not the one.

VICKY: [getting off the couch and backing away] What is going on?

AMANDA: [fighting Jake to let her go] That’s her, they want her!

JAKE: [shaking Amanda a little] She’s not the one.

AMANDA: [pulling away from Jake] I saw the picture

JAKE: [looking her in the eyes] Twins! She hired me to find her twin.

VICKY: [standing near Captain Carlino] Can somebody tell me what is going on here?

JAKE: [looking at Vicky over Amanda’s shoulder] You expect me to answer your questions, but [walking past Amanda and to Vicky] you won’t answer any of mine?

JOE: [stepping in front of Jake] Maybe, you should answer mine.

JAKE: [getting in Joe’s face] Who the hell invited you here?

RACHEL: [standing next to Carl] I did.

JAKE: [turning to face Racheal] How much did it cost to get him over here? [looking at Carlino in the eyes] Four, Five Hundred?

JOE: [looking smug] Less than your outstanding bar tab at the Harbour Club.

JAKE: [turns and looks at Amanda and laughs]

AMANDA: [getting worried at what Jake is about to do] Jake

JAKE: [swings around and decks Carlino straight in the jaw, knocking him over and onto the floor]

VICKY: [side stepping Joe and moving to Steven on the couch]

STEVEN: [standing on the couch] Cool

CARL: [going to Jake and holding him back from Joe] Come on, we need to talk!

MATTHEW: [going to help Joe up and talking to Jake as he does it] I still can’t figure out what my sister, or Allie sees in you.

JAKE: [shaking Carl off and walking out of the living room, and looks at Amanda] I still can’t believe you are her brother.

CARL: [talking to Rachel] I will be right back, Darling. [walks after Jake]

FADE OUT: Amanda, Vicky and Racheal are in shock. Matthew is still helping up a groggy Joe Carlino, and Steven is loving every minute of the action. Jake and Carl are heading out of the living room with Jake shaking his hand.
