Scene 1

Characters: Vicky, Jake, Stephen, Kirkland, Donna
Setting: Vicky and Jake’s cottage

JAKE: (carrying Vicky) Welcome home, honey!

VICKY: (as Jake lies her down on the couch) I can’t believe I’m here, I almost forgot what the place looked like.

STEPHEN: We missed you so much, mom.

VICKY: I missed you all too. More than you’ll ever know.

JAKE: (To Stephen and Kirkland) Why don’t you give your mom and me a minute alone.

KIRKLAND: Ok!

(The kids run upstairs and Jake sits next to Vicky, she rests her head on Jake’s chest)

JAKE: Are you feeling ok, are you sure your should have checked yourself out of the hospital?

VICKY: I couldn’t stand to be away from you one more minute. I just want to be home with my family and sleep in my own bed.

JAKE: You don’t know how lonely that bed was without you.

VICKY: I think I have a pretty good idea.

(Jake kisses Vicky’s forehead and strokes her hair, Donna wheels herself in)

DONNA: Oh, Victoria, I’m so glad you’re home.

VICKY: (getting up to hug Donna) I am too.

DONNA: Oh darling! I am so sorry about everything that has happened.

KIRKLAND: Mom, come up and see what Jake got us for Christmas!

(The adults laugh)

VICKY: I’ll be right there, honey.

Scene 2

Setting: Their bedroom

(Jake and Vicky are nestled into bed)

JAKE: Are you warm enough?

VICKY: I’m always warm when I’m with you.

JAKE: Hey, you’re stealing my lines!

VICKY: (laughing) I think I might have missed your sense of humor the most.

JAKE: My sense of humor, huh? You missed that more than uh -

VICKY: (smiling) Well, now that you mention it-.

JAKE: I love you. I’m probably going to tell you that a hundred times a day now, but I didn’t say it nearly enough before.

VICKY: (snuggling next to Jake) I love you too. I never want to be away from you again, Jake.

JAKE: We’re never going to be apart again, I promise. I will die before I let anyone hurt you.

(Jake looks at Vicky and realizes she has fallen asleep. He kisses her head and reaches over to turn the lamp off.)

Scene 3

Characters: Jake and Vicky
Setting: Valentines Day at the cottage

(Jake walks up to Vicky and has both hands behind his back. He kisses her softly on the lips.)

JAKE: (He gives her a bouquet of red roses.) These are for you, the most beautiful woman in the world.

VICKY: They’re beautiful, Jake.

JAKE: (hands her a card) This too.

VICKY: (opens the card and looks at Jake tenderly, she puts her hand on his cheek) Oh, Jake, its just like the first one you ever gave me.

JAKE: (taking the card) "To my one and only valentine. Hugs, Jake."

VICKY: (throws her arms around Jake and kisses him on the lips) I love you, McKinnon.

(Night time, Jake and Vicky are in bed talking)

JAKE: (opening the nightstand drawer) There is one thing I saved to give you.

VICKY: What is it?

JAKE: It was supposed to be for our anniversary, then I planned for Christmas, but I wanted to give it to you tonight. Nothing is getting in my way. (Jake hands Vicky a small box)

VICKY: (opens the box) Jake. I can’t believe you remembered.

JAKE: How could I forget? You looked at that thing everyday in Lassiter. I already had Stephen and Kirkland’s names engraved on it.

VICKY: (taking out the gold locket) I always said I would have our kids names engraved on it.

JAKE: And wear it close to your heart.

VICKY: Jake, this is the best present you have given me…so far.

JAKE: (laughing) So far, huh? What else can I get for you, Mrs. McKinnon?

VICKY: Well I was thinking, you know it would be nice to put our baby’s name on this locket.

JAKE: Are you saying what I think you’re saying?

VICKY: Jake, it hasn’t been that long!

JAKE: Are you sure you’re feeling okay, the doctors told you that you should take it -

VICKY: Shut up and kiss me, McKinnon.

(The McKinnons share a passionate night that is too graphic to discuss here LOL)
