Romance Never Dies Part 5

Scene 13

Jake and Vicky are sitting down at the table. They have already eaten the main course, and are now onto desert.

Jake: So are you enjoying yourself Mrs. McKinnon?
Vicky: Yes. This has to be one of the most romantic moments of my life.
Jake: One of the most romantic? I thought this would surpass all of the other romantic moments of your life.
Vicky: Well, you must have forgotten the night that you recreated our prom, the night that you decorated the street and we danced under the moonlight, and our honeymoon.
Jake (smiling): Didn't I just tell you that I would never forget anything about us? I haven't forgotten one second of my life with you, and I never will.
Vicky (moving her hand over to Jake's, and then grabbing his hand): Well, then I hope you won't forget this moment either.
Jake: What do you mean?

(Vicky reaches into her purse and pulls out a little box. She places it in front of Jake. Camera focuses in on box and then fades out.)

Scene 14

Jake (looking at the box): What...what is it?
Vicky: Open it up. You're not the only one who has a surprise.
Jake (fumbling to open the box): I wonder what it could b..... (Jake looks at the object.) A pacifier?
Vicky (smiles and nods her head): Yes...
Jake: Does this mean...
Vicky: Yes.
Jake: I'm going to be a father!
Vicky (tears in her eyes): Yes! We're finally going to have that baby!
Jake (a tear rolls down his cheek. Gets up from his chair. Goes over to Vicky and picks her up and hugs her tight.): I love you so much Vicky!
Vicky (wiping the tears from Jake's face and then wiping her own): I love you too.

Jake lets go of Vicky. Vicky then sits down. Jake gets on his knees, and places his hand on Vicky's stomach. Vicky places her hand on top of Jake's. They both smile. Camera focuses in on their hands (Jake is wearing his wedding band!) and then fades out.

Scene 15

Jake and Vicky are in their hotel room. Vicky is lying in bed and Jake is looking out the window.

Vicky: Jake, honey, aren't you coming to bed?
Jake (trying to hide the fact that he was crying): In a second. (sniffles.)
Vicky (getting out of bed and walking over to Jake): Jake, are you okay?
Jake (still crying): I am so much better than okay.
Vicky: Then why are you crying? (wipes Jake's tears away)
Jake (stroking Vicky's hair): Because I am so happy. I have wanted to be a father for the longest time, and it means so much to me that you are the woman that I am having a baby with.
Vicky (starting to cry now): I know. (Vicky embraces Jake. They begin to kiss.)
Jake: Is it okay if we...
Vicky: Definitely.

Jake carries Vicky over to the bed. They begin to kiss as the camera pans out.

Scene 16

Jake and Vicky are lying in bed. Vicky is asleep and Jake is awake. Jake is looking at Vicky and smiling. His hand is on her stomach. Jake begins to fantasize about his life as a father.

First, we see Jake feeding his baby GIRL. He's sitting on the couch feeding the baby, with Vicky by his side. The camera then pans over to the kitchen table. The baby is now about 2 years old, and Jake is feeding her baby food. She then spits out the mashed carrots and they land on Jake's face. Vicky who is standing behind Jake begins to laugh. The camera then pans to the window, where we see Jake and his little girl outside. Jake is pushing her on the swing. Steven and Kirk are throwing her a little pink ball while she is on the swing.

Vicky begins to stir and stops Jake's day-dreaming. As soon as she awakens, Jake kisses her.

Scene 17

Jake and Vicky are packing their things.

Jake: I can't wait to get back to Bay City. Wait till the boys find out that they are going to have a baby sister.
Vicky: Baby sister? What makes you think that it's a girl?
Jake (shrugging): I don't know. It's just a feeling. Wouldn't you like to have a girl?
Vicky: I would love it. I already have the name picked out if it's a girl.
Jake: And what would that be?
Vicky: Bridget Michaela (sp?) McKinnon. What do you think?
Jake: I love it! Now let's hurry up and pack, otherwise, we're gonna miss our flight.

Jake and Vicky finish packing and then hurry out the door.

Scene 18

Jake and Vicky are back home. They are outside the cottage.

Jake: I can't wait to tell the boys!
Vicky: I know! They are going to be so excited!
Jake: Steven! Kirkland! We're home, boys!

Steven and Kirkland come running out of the door followed by Donna, who is now walking.

Kirkland (running to Vicky): We missed you Mommy!
Steven: We missed you, too, ... Dad.
Jake (smiling): We missed both of you, too.
Vicky: We have a surprise for you two.
Kirkland: What is it? What did you get us?
Vicky: Well, it's not here yet.
Steven: Well, when is it going to get here?
Jake: Oh, in about 9 months. (grabs Vicky's hand)
Donna: You mean...
Vicky: Yup!
Donna: (running down the steps and hugs Vicky and then Jake.) Congratulations!
Kirkland: I don't get it.
Steven: Kirk, we're gonna have a baby brother or sister! (runs over to Jake and Vicky and hugs them and Kirk follows.)
Jake: Well, I believe that it's going to be a girl. Are you boys going to be okay with that?
Kirkland and Steven: You bet...Dad!

Jake hugs Steven and Kirkland. He then takes Vicky's hand, and Donna takes the boys hands. The 5 of them walk into the cottage, and close the door. The camera focuses in on the "Jake and Vicky's Place" sign.
