Delivery From the Stork, Part 3

Scene 9

Characters: The guys
Setting street corner

The guys are awaiting the second limo on the street in front of the apartment complex.

Cameron:[looking at Gary] Man! Mckinnon and Carlino sure get into it in a hurry.
Gary: Imagine if their kids got together in the end.
Joe[walking by and hearing Gary] Bite your tongue Sinclair. That will never happen while I am alive and breathing.
Jake:[leaning over Joe's shoulder] Yeah, you tell him Carlino. [jake looks puzzled and pushes Joe in the back] Why won't that happen? My daughter woun't be good enough for your son to marry.
Joe:[looks Jake in the eye] Yeah

The limo arrives and Matt and Cass separate Jake and Joe and throw them into the separate limo's.

Gary: Here Chris.
Chris: What is it?
Gary: The bottom half of the scavenger list. Good luck and Godspeed.
Chris: Godspeed? What is that supposed to mean? Gary!

Gary's limo holding Matt, Cameron, Joe, and Gary head off.

Chris:[pulling out Jake from the limo and throwing him against it] What did Gary mean by the word Godspeed.?
Jake{being held up against the limo with a shocked look on his face] Well. . . [kisses Chris on the lips causing Chris to let go, and Jake quickly gets into the limo followed by Joe and Nick]
Chris:[standing alone] I'm going to jail tonight! I can feel it in my bones, I am going to get arrested and will be the girlfriend of Bubba. [Chris gets in the car shaking his head.]

Scene 10

Characters: Vicky and the gals and Lila
Setting: Harbour club

The girls are still playing cards

Vicky: In or out Amanda?
Amanda: Out!
Vicky: Woo-hoo! Looks like I will have my daughters college fund by the end of the night.
Paulina: [chewing on a celery stick] Nobody likes a gloater.

Lila walks in the room and looks at the table filled with cards and chips.

Lila: Well, looks like you girls need help teaching Vicky a lesson.
Vicky: [looking at Lila] I don't remember you on the guest list.
Lila: What's the matter Vicky? Scared of a little competition.
Vicky: [southern accent] In your dreams Sugar-pie. Deal her in.
Lila:[looks at her with a face of disgust] No, don't deal me in! I am just here for a message from your husband and Cass.
Vicky: Cass and Jake? I could understand Cass, but Jake giving you a message for me. I find that hard to believe.
Lila: It is more of a bet between you and Jake.
Vicky: Is that right! What's the bet[crosses her arms in front of her]
Lila: Who ever gets the items on this list first?

Paulina grabs the list and looks at it.

Paulina: A scavenger hunt!
Lila: Yes, the women againts the boy's. Winner gets to dare the loser on Donna's fund raiser.
Donna: I like that idea.
Amanda: Let's separate and get the goods on the list.
Lila: My job is done.
Vicky: Freeze Southern Belle! You are on my team! [Vicky walks toward Lila and whispers in her ear] What is he up to?
Lila: He's your husband, you figure it out.

Scene 11

Characters: Jake, Cass, Nick and Chris
Setting: the docks

The gang is in the limo and looking at Jake staring out the window. Two women approach the limo.

Jake:[rolls down the tinted window] Hello Ladies
First Hooker: Looking for a good time tonight.
Jake: [gets out of the car with a brief case in hand and walks the two ladies down to the end of the docks.]
Chris: I knew it! I'm a dead man.
Cass: Why are we down here and not looking for diapers? I mean that is the first thing on the list.
Nick: [sticking his head out the window and bringing it back in] Why is Jake giving those girls a briefcase of money?

Jake comes back into the limo shaking the snow from his leather jacket.

Jake:[looks at the faces of the men, and hearing nothing coming out of theirs mouths] What?
Chris: [shaking his black leather hat head] What? What! What is going on?
Cass: I don't see those on the list Jake.
Jake: See what?
Nick: Hookers Jake!
Jake: Oh, those. . . well I think they like to be called street walkers. Isn't that what Lila calls her mom?
Cass: Watch it Mckinnon!
Nick: What is the deal Jake?
Jake: [messing Nick's hair up] just part of the plan Nick! Just part of the plan.[taps on the private glass of the window and talks to the driver] It's time to play with some fire my good lad.

Scene 12

Characters Joe, Cameron. Gary, and Matt
Setting: Outside a shopiing mall

Joe: [pulling at the locked door] Great! Mckinnon is going to win the bet.
Gary: I wouldn't be too sure about that, I think our wife's and girlfriends have the game won.
Matt: Yeah, I mean they have half the stuff on the list already. Gary and I just had a kid, and Paulina is a closet keeper.
Cameron: I think the other guys are having the same luck as we are. Plus, we don't have to find everything on the list, just more than the others.
Joe: I don't know! Something is off about this entire thing.
Gary:[shocked look on his face] What do you mean?
Joe: Somehow, I think Jake wanted us out of the way.
Gary: What gives you that impression?
Joe: The way that he suckered me into this bet, and you went right along with him.
Matt: Why was Jake so anxious to let 3 detectives on the same team?
Gary: Here phone Lila!
Joe: It was Paulina idea, the list is in her handwriting.
Gary: Paulina doesn't have a cell phone and Lila does.

Joe places the call

Scene 13

Characters Jake, Cass, Nick and Chris
Setting: Grant's apartment

Cass: Ahh. . . Jake. What are you doing?
Jake:[on his knees picking the lock to the door] What's does it look like I am doing?
Chris: Sending us to the electric chair!
Cass: They don't fry people for breaking and entering!

The door opens and Cindy is standing over Jake and looking down at him

Cindy: Well, should I call the cops?
Jake:[still on his knees] Well, you could do that! But it could be the biggest mistake of your life.
Cindy: I don't think you are in a position to make threats Mckinnon.
Jake:[stands up and looks at the rest of the guys] And I don't think you are in the postion to be that confident.
Cindy: What is that supposed to mean?
Jake[pulls out an enevelope from his chest jacket pocket] Well, it looks like that cushy apartment you are standing in is owned by yours truly.
Cindy: Grant gave this apartment to me. We are getting back together!
Jake: You are that is just great! However, if that were the case, then why did I find a restraining order drawn up to keep you away in his apartment Fire Bug.
Cindy: You did not!

Jake walks past Cindy and into the apartment.

Jake: I bet Grant is waiting for you to call him and invite him over, so he can use and abuse you like he has done in the past.
Cindy: I'm not buying it Jake. Those papers are fake.

Jake hands Cass the papers and Cass looks through them.

Cass: Those are completely legal and it is the judges signature.
Jake: Any other excuses you might be able to come up with in defense for Mayor Sleaze.

Cindy is shocked and starts to cry.

Jake: [sitting down beside her] I don't think you should be crying, I think you should get angry.
Cindy: I have tried, he simply gets out of it.
Jake: Call him and tell him you have the dirt on him.
Cindy: What information would that be?
Jake: Kirkland is a Harrison, but not Grant's. Then once, he is over at the Paradise Motel you let me and my friends do the work.
Chris: I knew I was going to wind up in jail tonight.

Exit Scene

Scene 14

Characters: Jake, Chris, Nick and Cass
Setting: Outside of the limo on Centre Street

Chris: I am pulling out of this right now Mckinnon!
Cass: Too late, once we were in Cidny's apartment. . .
Jake: You were in trouble.
Chris: You are telling me we have to help him get away with this!
Cass: I am sure it is nothing as drastic as murder. Probably a harmless prank like the baby switch with Kirk. Right Jake?

Jake opening the trunk to the limo and peeks his head around the open trunk lid.

Jake: Sure!
Chris: Baby switch?
Cass: you haven't heard about that yet? You have got to her this [puts his hand around Chris' shoulder and walks him to the sidewalk bench.]
Nick: Jake?
Jake: What is it Nick? I am kind of busy here.
Nick: What about the bet?

Jake pulls Nick to the back of the limo and points down to the trunk filled with all the items on the list.

Nick: There was no bet or scavenger hunt was there?
Jake:[arm around Nick and looks him in the eye] Nope! Nothing but an Alibi!

Jake screams for Cass and Chris.

Chris: What do you have to do now?
Jake: Nothing!
Cass: Good!
Jake: However, we must make one stop before collecting our money.
Cass: Why do I have a feeling it involves number 13 on the list?
Jake: [slams the trunk] You would be correct! You are one smart cookie, Cass.
Chris: What's number 13 on the list?
Cass:[looking at Chris with a worried look] You don't want to know!
