Paulina: What's
up Jake, you didn't say very much on the phone.
Jake is about to reply when
Steven comes down the stairs.
Steven: Jake,
why is Mom outside crying? What's going on? Jake: Don't worry about it, Buddy, it's an adult
problem, you probably wouldn't understand anyway.
Steven looks at the floor. He
sees the pregnancy test. He picks it up and looks at it.
Steven: Is it
because of this?
Paulina takes it from him and
looks at it.
Jake (tearyeyed): Yeah.
They hug him. Then Paulina goes
outside to talk to Vicky and Steven stays and talks to Jake.
Scene ??: The Mckinnon's
livingroom.
Vicky returns. She sits on the
couch between Jake and Paulina and Steven sits on Jake's lap.
Vicky: I'm sorry
I just stormed out like that, I guess I overreacted a little. They
all hug.
Scene ??: The Mckinnon's
livingroom
Paulina and Steven go outside to
let Jake and Vicky have some time to talk.
Jake: What did
Paulina say to you?
Vicky: She said that she knew why I was so upset, and that I had
a right to be. She also said that I had a husband in here who was
feeling every bit as bad as I was, because he's blaming himself,
but he was trying to hide it to be brave for me. You know what?
Jake: What?
Vicky: I think she was right. I'm sorry Jake, I didn't think you
would be blaming yourself, I was too busy blaming myself.
Jake: It's not your fault at all.
Vicky: Okay, But it's not your's either.
Jake: Okay. I love you, Vicky.
Vicky: I love you too, Jake
