Vicky: Wow!! I haven't felt anything like that since...
Jake: Since when? What?
Vicky: Never mind. I don't know. I must be imagining things again. We've
only been trying for a little while and I don't want to get your hopes up.
Jake: Wait a minute. You don't think...?
Vicky (smiling): Let's wait and see. I hope my imagination isn't running
away with me again.
Scene ??:
the Mckinnon's livingroom
Jake comes up behind Vicky and puts his arms around her
Jake (smiling): So?
Vicky: For the last time, I don't know yet, and I won't know until I do
the test.
Jake: What, you haven't done the test yet?
Vicky: No. I'm too scared to, Jake.
Jake: You, scared? Why? You're never scared. You're one of the bravest
people I know.
Vicky (teary-eyed): What if I'm not again? I can't go through that again
Jake. I can't put you through that again.
Jake: If you're not, then we'll just keep trying!
Vicky: You won't be mad?
Jake: Of course not, Vic. I don't want you to feel like you've failed or
anything like that. If this is too much, then we'll just take a break.
Vicky (crying, shakes her head no): How did I get so lucky?
Jake: (wipes her tears away) I am the lucky one.
He kisses her.
Scene ??
the Mckinnon's livingroom
Vicky and Jake are sitting on the couch. Vicky is holding the test in one hand and holding
Jake's hand with her other hand.
Vicky: Okay, but I can't look. You have to look and tell me.
Jake: Vic, you're shaking.
Vicky: I'm just a bit nervous, that's all.
Jake: Look, no matter what happens, it still is and always will be Jake
and Vicky forever, alright?
Vicky nods and hands him the test. He looks at the clock. Then he turns the test over and
looks at it. He starts smiling and crying at the same time. He looks up (to heaven) and
mouths: Thank you God. Vicky doesn't notice any of this because she is looking away. Jake
squeezes her hand. She looks up, but not at Jake.
Vicky: Well?
Jake: You're going to be a mother, Mrs Mckinnon.
She looks at him and they both start crying and hugging each other.
