Scene
1
Setting: Mustang Sallys
The bar is closing, the last of the patrons are leaving. We see
the band packing up and Sally is sitting at the bar looking over
the books and receipts. Tom is at the stage putting up his
guitar, Anne walks up to him.
Anne: Well? What are you waiting for? A big sign
that says come on over!
Tom: (looking at Anne, then over to Sally) She
looks pretty mad to me, I don't think it's a good time to go over
there.
Anne: Listen, Tom…. there never is a good
time…
Tom: But she stormed off and you know how she
gets when she's mad, I think I blew it this time.
Anne: Oh Tom, you got to her… you know
that, now's the time to go in for the kill.
Tom: (looking astonished) What? Do I look like
the Great White Hunter to you?
Anne: (laughing) No, no but you need to talk to
her and if you don't then I will!
Tom: Oh, alright then, I'll go but it ain't
going to be pretty I can tell that from here! (he walks towards
Sally)
Tom: (standing behind Sally)….(softly)
Sally?
Sally: (not turning around) Tom, I don't want to
talk with you right now.
Tom: (sitting on the stool next to her) Why?
Sally: I'm doing all I can not to lose my temper
here.
Tom: Why, because I'm trying to tell you how I
feel?
Sally: (turning to him) Tom, I cant believe you
did that! I told you I wasn't ready yet!!
Tom: What am I supposed to do? Huh? Tell me?
Sally: Well…. for one not stand up in a
room full of people and did what you did!
Tom: (smiling) you liked it, didn't you?
Sally: HELLO!! … ARE you NOT listening to
ME!?
Tom: Oh, I'm hearing you loud and clear.
Sally: Oh, so you think you can hear me is that
it?
Tom: Yep that's it!
Sally: Well, hear this then, I'M NOT READY!!!
(she storms off again)
Anne: (walking up to Tom) well.. come on how'd
it go??
Tom: (looking after Sally) mad … she's mad
alright

Scene 2
Setting: Derek's place
Amanda is looking out the window as Derek comes back into the
room carrying two cups of coffee.
Derek: See anything exciting out there.
Amanda: (turning around) oh no, just the lights
of Bay City.
Derek: It is a beautiful city.
Amanda: Yes it is. Derek, I'm sorry I asked
about your wife.
Derek: (handing her a cup) It's alright, it's
still pretty painful
Amanda: How long has it been?
Derek: 3 years this fall
Amanda: Still hurts, doesn't it? I know what
it's like to lose someone you love
Derek: It's a pain that doesn't easily go away,
does it?
Amanda: (Looking out the window again) You just
learn to live with it …
Derek: Well, enough sad talk, lets talk about
you and me!
Amanda: (turning around, shocked) What?
Derek: (sneaky smile on his face) Yep us, so
when are you going to show me the sights of this city?
Amanda: (laughing a bit) Hmmm. . .the sights you
say? Okay, how about tomorrow we see this town.
Derek: (smiling)… Deal?
Amanda: (smiling) Deal.
Scene 3
Setting: Airplane on its way to Bay City, Hillary and Julie went
to San Francisco and located where Bunny Ebhardt used to live,
and then found out that he was now going by the name of Jake
Mckinnon
Hillary: So now were looking for a Jake
Mckinnon, and Emily Brown
Julie: (Looking up from her laptop) Yeah, it
says here that he lives in Bay City with a wife and kids and now
owns the local newspaper. Hmmm . . . it seems that he has the
money to buy that portrait then why would he steal it?
Hillary: That's the question….. why? I bet
if we find Jake we will find Emily.
EXIT
Scene 4
Setting: Nick and Linda are sitting down to breakfast
Linda: hmmm. . . this coffee is good, only way
to start the morning is with a good cup coffee.
Nick: you said it.
Linda; Nick, may I ask a personal question?
Nick: (smiling) Shoot, I've got nothing to hide.
Linda: Well, I noticed that you weren't too
friendly to your sister.
Nick: You noticed, huh?
Linda: Well, it was kinda obvious.
Nick: I'm just not ready to forgive her…
Linda: for what??
Nick: She got my father killed!
Linda: (shocked) No? what happened…
Nick: She couldn't keep her eyes off another
man!
LInda: (calmly) I somehow think there's more to
it than that….
Nick: (frustrated) I guess I better start from
the beginning. It started when Shane Roberts hit town……
FADE OUT
Scene 5
Setting: New York City Apartment, Linda delivered the portrait to
Jake he went and sat down on the couch and opened it, Vicky sat
down next to him. There both just staring at the portrait.
Vicky: (looking at the portrait, softly) We had
something, didn't we….
Jake: …….yes, we did.
Vicky: A couple of crazy kids you and I were……
hey, do you remember the time you TP'd Johnny Olson's house and I
TP'd Jill Gumpy's house and then we were supposed to meet at the
swings only you didn't show up because …….
Jake: (smiling and interrupting her ) …because
I got caught?
Vicky: (smiling) yeah and then you took the
blame for Gumpy's house as well?
Jake: (laughing a little) But it sure was worth
it to see the look on Bridget's face when she knew it was you
too, but couldn't figure it out.
Vicky: Oh, she figured it out already, she just
thought you needed to pay for taking her cookies without asking!
Jake: (sitting back and laughing) … nooo,
she didn't know…. Did she??
Vicky: Yep, she sure did! (sitting back too and
then putting her hand on his shoulder ) …and remember I told
you I'd give you a kiss when you got back to those swings..
Jake: (remembering) …..yeah, I remember..
Vicky: I didn't think you would…
Jake: I'll never forget our childhood, Vick..
Vicky: I didn't think you would want to remember
those days…
Jake: (looking at Vicky) If I could change some
of the things in the past I would….. but I can't……..
so, so.. I just want to move on..
Vicky: You mean move on without me?
Jake: Listen, I don't want to hurt you anymore,
I just want to stop hurting.
Vicky: and you think by moving on it's going to
stop the hurting….
Jake: (getting off the couch and walking over to
the window) honestly…no, but it will be better than worrying
about what you're gonna do next..
Vicky: (getting off the couch and slowly walking
over to Jake) ….Jake, you talk a big talk but I know you, I
know you better than you know yourself. And as much as you want
me gone, you want me to stay just as much.
Jake: (Stepping past her) NO….
Vicky: (grabbing his arm and turning him around
to her, softly) Yes
Jake: No..
Vicky: (quietly).. yes, Jake..yes..
Jake: (looking down at her hand on his arm and
then into her eyes)…… I …..I want ….yo..….(just
then there's a knock on the door)
Vicky: Ignore that……. what were you
going to say??
Jake: (another knock) ….I …. I'd
better get that..(he heads for the door)
Vicky: Who could that be now!?
Jake opens the door, standing at the door is Emily Brown. She was
a good friend of Jake's when he thought he was Bunny Eberhardt.
Emily: Bunny! (She drops her bags and gives Jake
a big hug)…oh man its good to see you, I'd never thought I'd
find you…
Vicky: (Stepping up) ….who are you??
Emily: (looking over Jake's shoulder, then to
Jake) Who's this one Bunny, not another lady of the evening is
it??
Vicky: Lady of the EVENING, WHO you CALLING LADY
OF THE EVENING! (She starts for Emily)
Jake: (finally catching his breath)…Hold on
now, she's only kidding (turning to Emily) What you are doing
here Em, how'd you find me?
Emily: Well, it wasn't easy let me tell you,
I've been tracking you for weeks trying to find you. We need to
talk…
Jake: Okay, lets talk, come on, sit down….
Emily: Here? …. you want me to talk to you
with her in the room (nodding to Vicky)
Vicky: HER is not going anywhere! (with a smart
smile)
Jake: (looking at Vick then Emily) Okay then,
let's go out, come on, I'll buy you breakfast…
Vicky: Excuse me??
Jake: (To Emily) Why don't you go down and meet
me in the lobby, go on I'll be there in a few minutes…
Emily: Ok, Bunny,
Vicky: It's Jake, sweetie, not Bunny! And he's
taken so don't start getting any ideas!
Emily: Oh, really now, what? taken for a fool??
Vicky: You know I don't like you……
Jake: (interrupting, with a laugh) Okay, now Em
and Vick back to you corners…...come on, Em let's go..
(turning to Vicky) she's just a friend from San Francisco so you
can put your claws back in….
Vicky: Claws back in?
Jake: (putting his hand up) Don't start, you and
I are over, so really this is none of your concern (turning to
go)
Vicky: You know, Jake, you can treat me anyway
you want too right now, because you think I may deserve it…
Jake: May deserve it?…….Listen..I…
Vicky: (Interrupting)……BUT….you
better get it through that thick skull of yours I not going
anywhere……… until you and I work this out!! (she
turns around and heads for the bedroom and slams the door shut)
Jake walks out and slams the door shut too… turns around and
looks at the door we see a little smile come across his face, he
shakes his head and walks off.

Scene 6
Setting: Mustang Sally's, Anne and Sally are sitting at the bar,
up walks Shari.
Shari: So girls, anyone know who that handsome
man sitting with Nicole is? (looking over at Nicole and Jax) she
seems quite taken with him
Sally: Shari!…he just got here, sometimes
you really kill me, you know that?
Shari: (trying to look innocent) What?? …Oh…..
I see were still a little testy over what Tom did last night..
Sally: (just looking at Shari) Lets not go there
this early okay…
Anne: Well, from here he looks like a million
bucks especially this early in the morning…
Sally: You two (looking at Anne).. I can't
believe you guys… (she gets up and walks away)
Shari: (looking after Sally and smiling)…
Yep, I'd say she's still a little unnerved by Tom
Anne: (laughing) Oh, he's got her where he wants
her now..
We move to Nicole and Jax sitting at one of the tables having
coffee.
Nicole: So Jake told you to come to me, did he?
Jax: … and I suppose he forgot to tell you
that I was coming right?
Nicole: (smiling) bingo…so, tell me, why
did you come when Jake called?
Jax: Well, I've only been back from the Khalari
for just a few weeks, so I need to slow down the pace a bit and
this seemed like the perfect opportunity.
Nicole: Wait a second the Kalahari? what were
you doing in the desert???
Jax: Besides getting a good tan, getting lost,
getting chased by a group of outlaws, I was actually trying to
hunt down the leader of the Kalahari Seven.
Nicole: Kalahari Seven???
Jax: It was nothing, really, just needed to find
him so we could finish some business..
Nicole: (taking a sip of coffee, then leaning
closer) hmmm now this sounds interesting..
Anne: (walking up) Hi you two, and Nicole where
have you been hiding this handsome man??
Nicole: Anne, you and that mind of yours, why
don't you just stick to singing!
Anne: But then where is the fun??
Nicole: (shaking her head)… Well, Jax allow
me to introduce you to Anne..
Jax: (stands up) Well, Anne, it's nice to meet
you (he shakes her hand)..
Anne: and a gentlemen too…(looking at Nicole) He's
a keeper! (walking off)
Nicole: Well, as you can see Anne is not shy!
Jax: Well, it's nice to see some women who are a
bit bold..
Nicole: Oh, you like bold women do you…
Jax: (looking at NIcole) I like a woman that
knows her own mind is all, I don't like beating around the bush,
I want a woman who knows what she wants and isnt afraid to go
after it! And since were on the subject what about you, what do
you look for?
Nicole: (thinking for a moment) What do I look
for, you ask? Well, I want a man who also knows what he wants and
isn't afraid to go after it either! I want commitment, honesty,
trust, and I want a man with integrity!
Jax: and have you found this man yet??
Nicole: Tell me are there any out there??
Jax: (smiling, then waits moment to respond)….
Well you looking at one of them..

Scene 7
Setting: Derek and Amanda have spent the day together, its late
and night and they are sitting on this park bench, they are
looking at the stars and are eating some sandwiches that they had
gotten...
The song playing in the background is "It feels like

Derek: (taking a bite of his sandwich, then
looking around) wow, I didn't think Bay City had so much to
offer, good food, good company, (looking at Amanda) beautiful
women…
Amanda: (taking a sip of her coke, smiling) Glad
you liked it..
Derek: thank you for showing it to me, I haven't
had so much fun in a long time..
Amanda: me neither…and you're welcome.
Derek: and to show you my gratitude, I would
like to take you out..
Amanda: (a little Miffed)… You want to take
me out for gratitude?? Well, I don't need pity..
Derek: Hold on there… I'm not pitying you!
Amanda: Listen, I have plenty of opportunities to go
out, I just choose not too.
Derek: Where is this coming from, I didn't mean
to imply that you're a pity case..
Amanda: WELL, I'M NOT!
Derek: (starts laughing)
Amanda: What are you laughing at?
Derek: You…
Amanda: (angrily).. And what's so funny???
Derek: (trying to stop laughing) Well for one,
(he leans in closer) I…..I cant take you seriously (he
gently wipes the mustard that she has on the side of her mouth,
and then licks it off his thumb)….when you have some food
stuck on your face.
Amanda: (turning red and looking stunned for
moment, not quite sure what to do, and then starts to laugh with
him) I guess I did look pretty foolish..
Derek: No, no Red.... not foolish at all, quite
the contrary, I've never seen someone look so beautiful…
