Scene
1
Setting: Bay City, Cory mansion, Derek has walked Amanda to her
door.
Derek: (looking around the outside of Amanda'
house) So this is where you live, huh? pretty big… don't
tell me you live here all by yourself.
Amanda: (opening up the door) No, no I live here
with my daughter, Mother and brother.
Derek: Oh, (not walking in behind her)…well,
I'd better say goodnight then…
Allie: (she comes rushing up behind
Amanda)..MOM! where have you been?
Amanda: Allie, can't you see I'm talking to
someone?
Allie: (looking at Derek) Oh, hi…but it's
an emergency!
Amanda: (smiling at Derek) there always seems to
be one, what dear?
Allie: It's my science project, it's ruined!
(grabbing Amanda's hand) come look (dragging Amanda to look)
Amanda: (looking behind her) Come on in, Derek,
this will be just a minute…
Derek walks in behind them, we see on the table Allie's science
project that is in ruins.
Allie: It's due tomorrow. What am I going to do?
Derek: (walking up to the table, he starts to
roll up his sleeves) Well, we'd better get started then.
Amanda: Derek, you don't have to help….Allie
knows that she was supposed to have this done earlier.
Derek: Hey, I'm pretty good at science, so the
more hands the better. Now, Allie, tell me what was the outcome
supposed to be?
Allie: (looking at Derek) You'll help me?
Really??
Derek: You bet, kiddo.. now come on, let's get
to work here..(he sits down at the table and Allie starts talking
away about what was supposed to happen and Derek is listening
intently to her, we see Amanda stand back and look at this scene)

Scene 2
Setting: Carlino's, Katia is sitting at a table with a cup of
tea.
Paulina: Can I get you some more hot water?
Katia: (looking up) Oh, yes, please..
Paulina: You don't sound like you're from around
here.
Katia: I'm actually from Russia. I was born in
Canada and spent the last 10 years in Russia.
Paulina: Wow, that sounds interesting. What
brings you all the way to Bay City?
Katia: (her face darkening a bit) I'm here to….to
…..to visit an….acquaintance.
Paulina: Oh, really? Who is it? Maybe I know
them?
Katia: Derek Summerfield..
Paulina: hmmmmm . . . that name does sound
familiar.. Well, I'd better get you that hot water, if you need
anything else just give me a holler.
Katia: Thank you, that's very kind of you..
Paulina walks off, we see Maria and Patti walk through the door
talking away..
Patti: So you say Carlino's is the best for
pizza, hmmm?
Maria: Oh, yes, especially if you like
anchovies!
Patti: And who doesn't like anchovies? (they
both laugh)
Katia has seen them walk in and is looking at Maria and Patti.
Katia (to herself): you just wait, Patti, you
can't keep me away from Derek I will find him and make him pay,
you just wait!
Scene 3
Setting: New York restaurant, Nick has told Linda all about Vicky
, Shane and Jake.
Nick: So don't you see why I cant forgive her?
She took my father away, just when I was getting to know him.
Look at what she's done to her boys and to Jake. If he can't
forgive her then why should I………. tell me why
should I?
Linda: (she puts her hand on his arm).. Nick, I
cant help but feel for you, and I can see how much this hurts
you, but I can also see the pain on Vicky's face…….. Do
you want my opinion?
Nick: (looking at Linda) Sure..
Linda: I think…..I think that sometimes in
life …..we all do things that we regret, and from what I've
seen of Vicky she regrets the things that she has done. I don't
think that she intentionally wanted to hurt you…do you?
Nick: …(reluctantly) No, I don't. She was
reckless, she's always been reckless!
Linda: Haven't we all been reckless at one time
or another? I'm sure you haven't been a goody twoshoes all your
life, have you?
Nick: (smiling for the first time in a while)
How'd you know?
Linda: (smiling back at him) Oh, just a good
guess..
Nick: (he sits back in his chair) And what about
you…tell me… you must have done something reckless in
your life as well.
Linda: (laughing) me reckless? Let me think,
hmmm, would you say coming to New York with you is reckless?
Nick: (laughing) Well, if you hang with me, who
knows? Come on, let's get out of here and see the city (he gets
up and puts a couple of bucks on the table and grabs her hand and
starts for the door and then suddenly stops, he picks up his hand
that is holding hers and says) You don't mind, do you?
Linda: (shyly) No..
Nick: (smiling) Good, come on let's go then…..

Scene 4
Setting: Sally's apartment
Song in the background is called Sad Eyes were hear

I hold my tongue, I don't do much talking

well go ahead baby, I got plenty of time because

Well for awhile, I've been watching you steady

(Sally is in her kitchen, she is making herself some toast and a
cup of tea. She has a robe on and some pink fluffy slippers. The
doorbell rings.)
Sally: Who could that be this early in the
morning…
She goes to answer the door but no one is there she looks around
and then sees on the floor is a vase full of Yellow Roses and a
card.
Sally: hmmm, (she picks up the roses, smells them and walks back
into her apartment, sits down on the couch and places the roses
on the table and opens the card, she reads the card and it says..
"Just as a Yellow Rose brightens up any room
So is your smile that lights up my life"
Tom
Sally sits back on the couch and looks at the roses and the card
again and a little smile lights her face. As we fade out we hear
the rest of this song)
I know you think you'll never be mine

that shy smiles sweet, that's a fact
go ahead, I don't mind the act…..

Scene 5
Setting: Restaurant in New York, Jake and Emily are having
breakfast.
Jake: Okay, Emily, what's so important that you
had to track me down?
Emily: What I don't get a 'hello, how are you'
after all these years?
Jake: I'm sorry, Em, I'm just a little
pre-occupied is all.
Emily: What's with the blonde up there?
Jake: That blonde is my Wife.
Emily: Is that the one you had all those dreams
about? Hmmm, you sure didn't treat her like one while I was there…
Jake: Yes, that is the one, but she's soon to be
ex-wife, that is…
Emily: (smiling) Oh, really now…. She sure
seemed to be a little protective of you.
Jake: Yeah, well, she'll get over it. Come on, we're not
here to talk about me, what's up?
Emily: (looking around) I'm in a little trouble.
Jake: Oh no, not again, what did you do?
Emily: I kinda got involved in a little, hmmm…..
in a little…… Well, I inadvertently stole some art from
a Museum in Paris.
Jake: WHAT??
Emily: Shhh, keep your voice down! …it
wasn't my fault, really it wasn't, I got involved with this guy…and
well, it was an accident, Bunny, really it was…
Jake: Okay, okay…where did you meet this
guy?
Emily: In a little bar down the coast?
Jake: (rolls his eyes) start from the beginning and this
better be good, Em!….

Scene 6
Setting: Cory mansion, Derek and Allie have been working on her
project for a few hours now.
Derek: (looking at the project) You know, Allie,
you see this little red wire here? I think the only thing that
was wrong was that you forgot to connect it to the white wire.
Allie: Really? I thought I had it connected
right…. thanks. Ummm, what's your name?
Derek: (laughing a little) It's Derek
Allie: And what were you doing with my mother??
Derek: Boy, you're just full of questions like
your mother, aren't you?
Allie: Yep!
Derek: Well, I'm an old buddy of Jake's and he
asked me to come and do him a favor while he was gone, so I will
be working with your Mom for awhile.
Allie: (excited) Jake?
Derek: Yep, Jake, so do I pass the test?
Allie; For now…
Derek: Good, because I have a feeling you're one
tough kid to win over, you know? you remind me of….
In walks Amanda.
Amanda: How you guys doing? Can I get you
something else to drink?
Derek: No, we're just about done here. Allie did
a great job on her project.
Allie: Not without your help… Derek.
Derek: Hey, we make a great team, don't we?
Allie: (smiling a little) Yeah..
Amanda: Well, it's now way past your bed time,
Allie, you had better head off to bed, I'll be up in a few
minutes to kiss you goodnight.
Allie: (disappointed) I'm too old for that,
Mom..
Amanda: Not in my book now go on and thank Derek
for his help.
Allie: Thanks, Derek..
Derek: You bet, kiddo, anytime!
Amanda walks Allie to the stairs and Allie leans closer to Amanda…
Allie: He's cute, Mom..
Amanda: Yeah, I know he is….. now go on…go.
(Amanda turns around to walk Derek to the door)
Derek: You've got a great kid there, Amanda..
Amanda: Yes, she is a handful, but I wouldn't
trade her in for anything.
They both look at each other for a moment not sure what to say,
then Amanda goes and opens the door, Derek walks out and turns
around.
Derek: hmmmm…. Thank you for showing me
around again I had a great time..
Amanda: Oh, me too…I uh…did too.
Derek: So will you think about my invitation
then?
Amanda: (a little smile on her face)….hmmmm
(softly she says) Yes…Yes, I will.
Derek leans in closer to Amanda, her eyes open a bit not sure
what he is going to do, he stops and looks at Amanda, smiles and
leans in and kisses her on the cheek. He steps back and softly
says…
Derek: Thank you again….goodnight. (he
turns around and walks off)
Amanda: ….uh.. uh….goodnight. (she
closes the door, turns around and leans against it, puts her head
back and closes her eyes and hits her head softly against the
door and lets out a deep breath)

Scene 7
Setting: Mustang Sally's
As usual Shari is behind the bar and Anne is sitting on a stool
talking away
Anne: (laughing) …and then after I get off
the stage, he comes up to me, hitches up his pants and says….so
little lady how about you and me having us a dance? Mind you,
he's already had a few too many so I say 'I'm sorry, Sir, I only
go out with men who…'
In walks Tom who is whistling to himself as he walks by..
Shari: Hold up there, mister..
Tom: (he stops and turns to them) And how are
you two beautiful ladies doing this morning?
Anne: Okay, what's up, Tom? It's not every
morning we see you in here this early plus in a good mood. What's
the deal.
Tom: Can't a guy be happy for a change?
Shari and Anne at the same
time: NO.
Tom: Oh, come on now, don't give me grief this
morning, I'm just in a good mood is all.
Shari: Ok, and who put you in this good mood?
Tom: (smiling) no one….
Anne: Tom..
Tom: (sits on a stool) Oh alright, I just sent
something to Sally and I'm hoping she likes it. And THAT's all
you're getting out of me.. (he gets up and walks off)

Scene 8
Setting: New York City, Jake took Emily to get her a room at a
hotel and told her to meet him at Mustang Sally's that night to
see what else they could do about her situation. He didn't want
to go back to the apartment because he was afraid that he might
run into Vicky again so he went to Central Park to walk around.
Vicky also left the apartment after calling Kris to tell her
what's going on and that she would pick up Steven later, she also
went to Central Park and is sitting at the pond looking into the
water… We hear this song in the background as we see Jake
and Vicky remembering..

Jake's arms when he came back from the dead, at the docks when

after Kirklands accident)

(We see Jake walking along and standing on the other side of the
pond looking into the water and remembering all the times he held
Vicky, when he took her in his arms on the porch and told her he
was going to take her dancing, holding her on the swings after
she proposed, her sitting in his lap at Kirkland's bedside after
his accident, sitting on the couch and holding her when she got
back from Florida with the boys, picking her up and sitting on
the bed on their honeymoon, e they danced their first dance

As the song fades away we see Vicky put her head in her lap she
lifts it up wipes the tears from her eyes and slowly gets up and
walks away. Across the pond we see Jake stand there with his
hands in his pockets, his head is leaning back to stop the tears
from running down his face. He opens his eyes and a tear runs
down his check, he wipes it off and he slowly turns around and
walks the other way….

Scene 9
Setting: Mustang Sally's
Nicole and Jax are walking through the front door, talking away
and laughing and then you see her give him big push..
Nicole: Get outta here….you don't say..
Jax: (laughing) hey, there's no need to push me
through the next room and I do say that's exactly how it
happened!
Nicole: Well, I don't believe you!
Jax: hmmm, so you're gonna need proof, are you?
Nicole: You just telling me isn't going to cut
it, mister..
(they both walk right by Anne and Shari who just stare in
wonderment)
Anne: And what's that all about? (watching
Nicole and Jax walk right by them)
Shari: Not a clue….
(just then we see Sally walk through the doors holding a vase
that has some yellow roses in them, she walks right by Anne and
Shari not even noticing them)
Anne: Okay, there goes another one, what is
going on here? has this place gone crazy?
Shari: (laughing) it must be what Nicky is
putting in the cooking?
