[The episode opens with an exterior shot of Angel Grove High School.
 Inside, Jason, Trini, Kimberly, and Billy are walking through a
 corridor. Kimberly is reading a newspaper.]

Kimberly : [excitedly] "And because of their contribution to justice,
           and their unending efforts to protect the entire planet,
           Angel Grove city officials have declared today...Power
           Ranger Day!

[They all laugh and walk off. Zack passes by them without noticing. He
 greets a girl and then turns in the direction that the others have gone.]

 Zack : [calling] Hey, guys! What's up? [laughs]
Jason : Hey!

[Zack laughs. Jason, Billy, Kimberly and Trini stop at the base of a
 staircase, and Zack joins them.]

   Trini : [to Zack] Hey! We're reading about the Power Rangers!
    Zack : [amused] Oh yeah? What's it say?
Kimberly : "Mayor Carrington hopes that the mysterious superheroes
           will make a public appearance in Angel Grove Park, where
           countless fans will be gathered to celebrate them."

[She closes the paper and starts walking away.]

Kimberly : I have a feeling the Power Rangers will show up...don't
           you?

[Billy laughs.]

Trini : Mm!

[Billy and Trini follow Kimberly. Jason and Zack slap hands.]

Jason : I wouldn't be surprised!

[They leave as well. Bulk and Skull come down the stairs.]

Skull : [earnestly] C'mon Bulk, ya gotta tell me! What are you
        planning?
 Bulk : [whispering] Okay! All right! Okay!

[Bulk shoves Skull and they go to the base of the stairs. Bulk walks
 ahead slightly and edges around the side of a pillar. Skull edges
 around the other side, focusing all of his attention on making sure
 that no-one is looking. Thus he is unprepared when Bulk springs out
 in front of him. Skull recoils and winces, just as Bulk begins to
 unveil his master plan.]

 Bulk : [excitedly] You know how they're planning that party for the
        Power Rangers in the park?
Skull : [growing excitement] Yeah, yeah!
 Bulk : [grabbing Skull's coat] Well, -we- are gonna steal a little
        bit of their thunder! [lifting Skull by his coat] We're gonna
        show Angel Grove that the Power Rangers aren't the only
        superheroes in this city!
Skull : Yeah! They're not the only superheroes in this city!

[Bulk drops Skull.]

Skull : [suddenly confused] They're not?
 Bulk : Heh! Wait'll they get a load of us!

[He laughs and beckons for Skull to follow. Skull follows, still
 looking confused. Cross up to an exterior shot of Rita's Palace.]

Rita's voice : Maybe -we- should attend this little party-

[Inside, Rita is making mystic gestures over some lit candles.]

  Rita : -too!
Squatt : [excited] Whoo!!
 Baboo : [excited] Will there be any little Swedish Meatballs?!?!
Squatt : Wow!
Goldar : Quiet, you bubbleheads! We're not going for a social visit,
         we're going to destroy the Power Rangers!

[Four images follow in quick succession. The first is the eyes of
 Rita's mystic skull glowing. The second is a brief shot of dark
 rolling skies. The third shot zooms back in on the skull. The final
 switch is to that of Rita poring over her crystal ball. Rita's voice
 can be heard over the top of all of these.]

Rita's voice : That's -right-, Goldar, and to finish them off I will
               use -all- of my power to activate your Zord; Cyclopsis!

Rita : [incanting] Ohh...my star..of doom, wild STARS! An evil witch
       ARRIVES!!! WHO DARRRES to challenge you!

[This is the best I can do with this line, but I'm not sure if it's
 quite right.)

Squatt : [nervous] I can't watch!
  Rita : Bring forth Cyclopsis, nowwww!!!!

[Lightning strikes from the dark skies above and charges up the skull.
 Finster, Baboo and Squatt cringe away in fright.]

Goldar : I shall not fail you, my Queen! I will pilot Cyclopsis and
         send the Power Rangers to their doom!

[Cross over to Angel Grove Park, which has been set up for the
 imminent celebration. Jason and Zack are walking through the crowd.]

Jason : Billy and the girls are supposed to meet us...right around
        here.
 Zack : Check it out, man! All these people...are here to see the
        Power Rangers!

[They both laugh and briefly lock hands. They are now approaching
 Angela, who is in the crowd ahead.]

  Zack : Hey, Angela! Hey why don't we get together tonight, and go
         out? I'm serious!
Angela : No, Zack! If you were a Power Ranger, I would say yes in a
         -minute-! Keep trying!

[She walks off, leaving a very frustrated Zack in her wake.]

Jason : [amused] Nice to feel appreciated, huh?
 Zack : [frantically] Speaking of which, don't you think it's...about
        time for us to morph into costume?
Jason : Whoa! Whoa! We've still got a little time. I mean..by mingling
        with a crowd like this, we lessen the chances of anybody
        finding out who we really are.

[Kimberly, Trini and Billy are walking elsewhere in the crowd.]

  Kimberly : [excitedly] I -cannot- believe how many people are here!
             Hey look, there's Ernie!
     Billy : [waving] Hey, Ernie!
     Trini : [waving] Hi!
     Billy : Ms Appleby, hi!
Ms Appleby : [passing] Hi, kids!

[Ernie walks by and completely ignores them.]

   Billy : [excited] Prodigious! Everyone's here to see the Power
           Rangers!
   Trini : [excited] Gosh, this is so neat!
Kimberly : [more seriously] I don't see Tommy anywhere.
   Trini : He probably feels bad. Y'know, kinda left out?
Kimberly : [cheering up a little] Yeah, he'll show up!
   Billy : [pointing] Hey look, there's Jason and Zack! Come on!

[They head off in that direction. Cross up to an exterior shot of
 Rita's Palace.]

Rita's voice : Look at them!

[Cross to Rita laughing inside.]

  Baboo : [surprised] You -want- a big crowd?
 Squatt : Yeah, we'll trap the people in another dimension and make it
          -easy- to hunt the Rangers down!
Finster : My Queen, the dimensional vortex beam is -ready-!
 Goldar : Soon, every one of them will be our prisoners!

[Rita makes a fist(Rita : Huh!).]

[Cross back down to the park, where Bulk and Skull are now walking.
 Bulk snatches a poster off a wall, scrunches it up, and throws it
 onto the ground. They both laugh.]

 Bulk : Today's the day the people of Angel Grove are gonna meet this
        city's newest superheroes! C'mon, let's duck in here!
Skull : Yeah, let's duck in here! [kicks poster on the way]

[They go around the wall, which turns out to be one side of a photo
 booth, and enter. Clothes soon begin to fly out the door. Shortly
 afterwards, the two of them are once more walking through the crowd,
 now dressed in superhero costumes - Bulk in blue, Skull in purple.]

    Bulk : [grandly] With iron chests, and arms of -steel- , -
   Skull : We've got -real- superhero appeal!
    Bulk : We'll protect this city with all our might! Bulkster, -
   Skull : -and Super Skull; -
Together : -we'll set things right!
    Bulk : C'mon, let's go show up those Power Rangers!

[He sticks out a fist.]

Skull : Yeah!

[They tap fists and walk off. Cross over to Billy, Kimberly, Jason,
 Zack, and Trini.]

Jason : So, you guys ready to morph?
 Zack : [excitedly] Oh yeah! [laughs] Yes! Yes!

[The others are a little taken aback by this outburst.]

Zack : I gotta impress Angela!

[They start to laugh just as Bulk and Skull come barging through.]

 Bulk : [grand voice] Out of our way!
Skull : [grand voice] Yes, out of our way!

[They walk off.]

Kimberly : [confused amusement] -What- are they doing in those
           costumes?

[The five of them laugh.]

Jason : -This- I've got to see.

[Bulk and Skull are now stepping onto a stage. On the wall behind
 them, there is a large portrait of the Power Rangers holding the
 Power Blaster. Bulk approaches the podium.]

Bulk  : [to microphone] Testing! ... Testing! Testing! Hello, good
        citizens of Angel Grove, and welcome...to this city's most
        historic moment! A moment when two of the most dynamic,
        -powerful-, incredible superheroes ever to walk the Earth
        decided to move to... -this- fair city, and protect its
        people! Of course I'm talking about myself...and my sidekick.
        [raising fists] I'm...The Incredible Bulkster!

Skull : And -I'm-...Super Skull! Boy Wonderful!

[The Rangers and some members of the crowd laugh.]

Sceptical Boy #1 : Show us some of your superpowers!
Sceptical Boy #2 : Yeah!

[Some members of the crowd start to echo this demand. Bulk and Skull
 walk left onto center stage. Bulk kneels down and points to the sky.
 Skull remains standing and also points that way. Bulk stands and they
 both point towards the crowd. They turn to the right. This time Skull
 kneels and points to the sky. Bulk stands and does the same. Both of
 them now go into a manic fighting sequence, much to the amusement of
 the crowd.]

Zack : [laughing] This is classic!

[On stage, Bulk and Skull continue their crazy routine. Cross up to
 the moon and focus in on Rita's Palace.]

Goldar : [drawing sword] My Queen, at your command, all of Angel Grove
         will be beamed...into another dimension!

[Rita has been watching proceedings through her telescope.]

  Rita : Zap them -now-! [laughs]
Goldar : [mockingly] Goodbye, snivelling citizens!

[Back at the park, the antics of Angel Grove's newest superheroes are
 thoroughly entertaining the crowd. All of a sudden, Bulk and Skull
 glow and vanish. A few moments later, the two sceptical boys vanish,
 followed by some other members of the crowd.]

Zack : [warily, still facing the stage] Where'd he go?

[More crowd members, including Angela, vanish. Two more sections of
 the crowd are similarly beamed away.]

Jason : [shocked] What's going on?

[The last of the crowd disappears, leaving the Rangers standing
 alone.]

Kimberly : [worried] Whoa!
   Trini : Oh, no!
Kimberly : Where's everyone gone?
   Trini : The whole park is empty!
   Jason : [to communicator] Jason to Command Center, we have an
           emergency!
  Zordon : [communicating] Yes, I'm already picking it up, Rangers. A
           powerful vortex beam, emanating from the moon, appears to
           have enveloped everyone in Angel Grove.
Kimberly : Rita!

[In the Command Center, Alpha pushes some buttons on one of the
 control panels.]

 Alpha : I've got something, Zordon! [heads towards the Viewing Globe]
Zordon : Good. Now lock the scanner onto the dimensional beam and
         track its co-ordinates carefully, Alpha.

[Alpha starts in surprise as he observes the Viewing Globe.]

Zordon : Look for any movement toward Earth.

[The Viewing Globe shows images of a reddish/pink beam firing onto
 Earth, and also of the Earth growing steadily larger as if something
 is moving towards it.]

 Alpha : [confused] But how can the moon -move-?
Zordon : The moon cannot, Alpha. But Rita's Palace can!

[Cross back to the Rangers in the park.]

Zordon : [communicating] If she brings it to Earth, as I fear she may,
         it will greatly increase her powers.

[The Rangers look around, apparently at a loss. Back up at the Palace,
 Rita moves away from her telescope.]

  Rita : Ha! All right, time to travel, everyone!
Squatt : Ooh, should I pack a bathing suit?
Goldar : [drawing sword again] To power my Battle-Zord, the Palace
         must be close to it!

[The Palace starts to shake.]

  Rita : That's why I'm taking us to Earth!
Goldar : Where I shall destroy the puny Power Rangers once and for
         all!

[The clay monsters on Finster's shelf start to shake.]

Squatt : [looking through telescope] Ooh-hoo! We're right on target!
         Yeah-heh!

[Rita's Palace(now sitting atop a skyscraper) descends through the sky
 and lands in the city. The impact shakes up the Rangers in the park.]

   Jason : [to communicator, urgently] We've got big trouble down
           here, Zordon!
Kimberly : [shaken] Ooh!

[Cross over to the landed Palace in the middle of the city - a bastion
 of evil strength. Inside, Goldar is on the Balcony.]

Goldar : Summon Cyclopsis, my Empress!

[Rita laughs and activates her Wand. A pink beam fires upon Earth and
 lands in the city. Strange bit - she should now be in the Palace on
 Earth, but the beam is shown coming from space(presumably the moon).
 Maybe the beam was from some other source in response to her
 summons.]

[The ground opens and Cyclopsis arises - a white, powerfully built
 battle machine with red eyes and a long horn protuding from its head.
 The single eye which gives Cyclopsis its name is located in the
 middle of its forehead.]

[Cross to Alpha inside the Command Center.]

 Alpha : With their powers right in downtown Angel Grove, Rita will
         be ten times more powerful, Zordon!
Zordon : Yes, Alpha. Activate the Viewing Globe!
 Alpha : Ai-yai, yai-yai-yai!

[The Viewing Globe shows Goldar teleporting to the inside of
 Cyclopsis's head.]

Zordon : Goldar, as I suspected. And with the power of Rita's Palace
         they have activated Cyclopsis, Goldar's Warzord!

[The Viewing Globe shows Goldar laughing inside his cockpit.]

Zordon : It looks very bad indeed.
 Alpha : We haven't seen this monster in ten thousand years!
Zordon : [communicating] Rangers, you must morph to downtown Angel
         Grove, and activate Megazord!

[Cross back to the park.]

Jason : It's Morphin' Time!

[The Morphing Sequence begins.]

    Zack : Mastodon! [morphs into the Black Ranger]
Kimberly : Pterodactyl! [morphs into the Pink Ranger]
   Billy : Triceratops! [morphs into the Blue Ranger]
   Trini : Sabre-toothed Tiger! [morphs into the Yellow Ranger]
   Jason : Tyrranosaurus! [morphs into the Red Ranger]

[The Power Rangers come flying down through the air to land in
 the city.]

Red Ranger : All right Rangers, let's do it!
   Rangers : We need Dinozord power, now!

[The five Zords are summoned.]

Red Ranger : All right!

[The Rangers leap into the air and arrive in their Zord cockpits.]

   Red Ranger : [in Tyrranosaurus] Rangers, log on!
 Black Ranger : [in Mastodon] Mastodon, ready to kick it!
  Blue Ranger : [in Triceratops] Triceratops, online!
Yellow Ranger : [in Sabre-toothed Tiger] Sabre-toothed Tiger, ready!
  Pink Ranger : [in Pterodactyl] Pterodactyl, ready to rock!
   Red Ranger : [in Tyrranosaurus] All right, Rangers, power up your
                Crystals! Now! [inserts Power Crystal]
Other Rangers : 2...1...Power Up! [they insert their Power Crystals]
   Red Ranger : [in Tyrannosaurus] All right Rangers, let's show 'em
                some Megazord Power!

[The Zords join together to form the Megazord in Tank Mode. There is
 a brief shot of the Rangers inside the cockpit as it lights up, then
 of the Tank rolling along, and then back to the cockpit again.]

Red Ranger : All right! Let's switch to Battle Mode!
   Rangers : Morphin'!

[The Dinozord insignia lights up and the Megazord's hands form.]

Voice : Megazord Sequence has been initiated!

[The Megazord rises and completes its transformation. Its eyes glow.]

Voice : Megazord activated!

[Cross to the Megazord's cockpit.]

Red Ranger : Let's do it!
   Rangers : Right!

[The Megazord charges towards Cyclopsis.]

Red Ranger : [in cockpit] Goldar's driving Cyclopsis!
    Goldar : [in Cyclopsis] [laughs]

[The two battle machines stare each other down.]

Goldar : [in Cyclopsis] Attack!

[Cyclopsis advances on the Megazord. Cross to its cockpit.]

 Black Ranger : Here he comes!
  Blue Ranger : We can't allow him to gain a strategic advantage.
                We've gotta match him move for move!
Yellow Ranger : If we don't, we're finished!
   Red Ranger : Right!

[Cyclopsis closes in. Inside the cockpit, Goldar thumps the control
 panel. Cyclopsis ferociously punches the Megazord, sending it
 reeling back. The Megazord steps around Cyclopsis to the right;
 Cyclopsis turns to face it. Cyclopsis kicks the Megazord and then
 sends it flying back with another punch. A third punch is delivered;
 the Rangers are thrown around by the impact of the blow. Before it
 can recover, the Megazord is pounded once again.]

[Rita laughs gleefully from her Palace and Goldar joins in.]

[The Megazord is knocked back by two more staggering blows. Goldar
 continues to laugh, now confident of a victory. Twin panels open up
 from jutting sections on Cyclopsis's top torso, revealing a series
 of cannons. A barrage of fire sends the Megazord crashing to the
 ground face-down, again buffeting the Rangers.]

[Cyclopsis begins to destroy buildings in the surrounding area whilst
 the Megazord watches helplessly from the ground. Cross to its
 cockpit.]

Pink Ranger : Jason we've gotta get up! We can't let him trash the
              whole city!
 Red Ranger : I'm trying! Cyclopsis is too powerful! I'll try and get
              the controls to respond. Patch in the emergency pods
              and give me full power!

[This strategy works - the Megazord is now back in the fray. Cyclopsis
 swings and misses, then catches the Megazord with a glancing blow.
 This time, the Megazord retaliates with a strike of its own.]

Red Ranger : [in cockpit] All right!

[Once again Cyclopsis blasts the Megazord, jolting the Rangers.]

Black Ranger : Jason! We need help!
  Red Ranger : I know! It's time to call in Dragonzord!
               [plays dagger flute]

[The Dragonzord arises out of the water and comes ashore. It arms its
 missiles and fires at Cyclopsis, taking it by surprise. However,
 this advantage is short-lived; Cyclopsis appears completely unharmed
 by the blasts. It lumbers over to face the Megazord and the
 Dragonzord which are standing together.]

[The Dragonzord presses the attack and swings its tail at Cyclopsis,
 which manages to avoid the move. Cyclopsis responds by belting the
 Dragonzord away with a hard kick. The Megazord advances upon
 Cyclopsis yet again, and the latter whirls around to meet the
 renewed challenge.]

Goldar : [in Cyclopsis] Time to feel the power of Cyclopsis!

[Cyclopsis extends its hands mystically towards the Megazord. The
 Megazord suddenly halts as a red light emanates around it. Inside
 Cyclopsis, Goldar laughs and makes an upward motion with his
 controls. The Megazord rises into the air and hovers helplessly. It
 is apparent that the Megazord is now helpless under Goldar's
 control. He swings his controller around, causing the immobilised
 Megazord to arc through the air in the same manner.]

[Goldar laughs and swings the controller once more, and the Megazord
 crashes to the ground in front of the Dragonzord. The unscathed
 Cyclopsis throws back its head and claps its hands as if to mock its
 opponent. Incredibly, the Megazord manages to rise again. The
 Megazord and Dragonzord defiantly clench their fists. Cross to the
 Megazord's cockpit.]

Red Ranger : All right! Switch into Dragonzord Battle Mode!

[Dragonzord Battle Mode forms. Cross to the Megazord cockpit.]

Red Ranger : All right Rangers, let's move in!

[The Tyrranosaurus roars. A cloud of dust engulfs Cyclopsis, causing
 the evil Warzord to make convulsive movements.]

Goldar : [activating controls in Cyclopsis] Take that!!!

[Cyclopsis stretches out its hands again and the dust cloud reverses
 itself back onto the Tyrannosaurus. Sparks fly and it crashes to the
 ground. The Battle Mode Dragonzord fires a ball of energy at
 Cyclopsis. Once again, the seemingly indestructable Warzord deflects
 the blast right back to its source.]

Goldar : [in Cyclopsis] This is almost too easy!

[Cyclopsis fires again and downs the Battle Mode Dragonzord. It
 advances triumphantly and stamps on the chest of its fallen
 challenger. Cross suddenly up to Rita on her balcony.]

Rita : Smash them! [growls]

[Cyclopsis kicks the fallen Zord; it rolls along the ground. Cyclopsis
 follows after, ready to finish the job.]

[The Tyrannosaurus is now back up, ready to defend its companion.
 Goldar laughs and activates his controls again. Cyclopsis's fists
 fly away(attached to its wrists by cables) and connect off-screen
 with the two Zords.]

[A moment later both of them are dangling in the air, held by
 Cyclopsis's extended fists. Surges of electricity are channeled into
 them along the lengths of cable before both Zords are flung to the
 ground once more.]

  Rita : [on Balcony] I -hate- those guys!
Goldar : [in Cyclopsis, triumphantly] They're both down! Now to take
         'em out!

[Just when all seems lost, Titanus comes rolling up, guns blazing. The
 cables are destroyed and the Battle Mode Dragonzord is quickly
 standing again. Charges of electricity ripple through its body as the
 Power Staff is summoned forth. Inside the cockpit, the Rangers are
 looking around in wonder at their sudden turn of fortune.]

 Red Ranger : All systems back on-line!
Pink Ranger : Yes!
 Red Ranger : Initiating Ultrazord Sequence!

[The Ultrazord forms; Cyclopsis quickly turns towards it. Titanus
 roars and the Ultrazord rolls off towards Cyclopsis. Cross to the
 cockpit.]

Red Ranger : Ultrazord powered up and ready for action!

[The Pink and Yellow Rangers nod.]

Rangers : Lock on and fire!

[A barrage of artillery from the Ultrazord blasts Cyclopsis, and the
 Warzord immediately begins to short-circuit.]

Goldar : [in Cyclopsis] My Zord! This is impossible!

[He vanishes just in time, as Cyclopsis falls and explodes. Its
 decapitated head flies up into the air and lands a short distance
 away. Inside the cockpit, the Rangers are celebrating.]

     Rangers : Yes!
 Pink Ranger : Right on!
Black Ranger : Yeah!

[Cross up to a furious Rita on the Balcony.]

Rita : Why you...take this!!!

[She fires her Wand. The ground breaks beneath Titanus, who is now
 separated from the MegaDragonzord. He collapses into the growing
 hole. Rita growls and fires another blast at Titanus. She laughs
 gleefully as he sinks lower. Titanus roars in despair and the
 MegaDragonzord quickly hurries to his aid. It grabs hold of his
 neck and tries to pull him back up again.]

[Unfortunately, Rita is not having any of this.]

Rita's voice : No, you don't!

[She zaps her Wand at the MegaDragonzord, forcing it to release its
 hold on Titanus. Titanus is finally swallowed completely under the
 earth and there is an explosion. Rita laughs again. Cross to the
 MegaDragonzord cockpit.]

Blue Ranger : [panicky] Titanus is gone! Now what?
 Red Ranger : I don't know, Billy. [clenches fist]

[There is a brief outside shot of Rita's Earth Palace. Dark gloomy
 clouds start to roll overhead and Rita appears outside, seemingly
 in the sky.]

Rita : [laughs] Hey suckers, you're next! [grandly] You will -all-
       suffer the same fate!

[Cross over to a strange obelisk which is topped by three prongs,
 almost like a claw. Bolts of lightning flash amidst the red sky
 above.]

Rita : [chants] Mishar! Sozar! Miah-slee! Lokar! I summon thee! LOKAR!

[A face now protudes from the upper section of this obelisk. Twin red
 beams shoot out of its eyes and off into space, eventually vanishing
 in a blue blip. Moments later, a fireball returns along the same path
 and travels to Earth. Lokar's eyes appear in the dark sky over the
 city and a moment later his whole head materialises.]

Rita : You, Lokar, shall be the final ingredient in my master plan,
       and what a beauty too! With your power I can recreate
       Cyclopsis, and all the world is mine! So be it! Haa!

[During the course of this speech it is revealed that Rita is actually
 standing on top of a tall building. She activates her Wand once more.
 A fiery explosion rises out of a chasm and a surge of lightning
 strikes the city. A rebuilt Cyclopsis emerges from this latter
 explosion.]

[Lokar's arrival is now shown on the Viewing Globe.]

Rita : [on Viewing Globe, aiming Wand] Take that! Haha!

[Cyclopsis's return is shown on the Viewing Globe. The five unmorphed
 Rangers are all watching this in the Command Center.]

   Jason : [seriously] Lokar's outta control.
    Zack : Looks like Rita's reconstructed Cyclopsis!
Kimberly : [worried] Zordon, what are we gonna -do-?
  Zordon : Nothing, until your Zords are re-energised; only then can
           you battle Lokar.
    Zack : So if we stop -him-, we stop Rita and the others, right
           Zordon?
  Zordon : Yes, Zack. Alpha is scanning the computer memory for more
           data on Lokar.

[Alpha is working away at a control panel in front of the Rangers.]

Zordon : It should provide a clue to help you defeat him.
 Billy : Zordon, what about all the people? Where are they?
Zordon : My sensors indicate that they are all safe, but out of reach
         in Rita's dimensional vortex.

[Jason is visibly disturbed by this news.]

Jason : [realising] We're their only hope.

[The others look at Jason for a moment before turning back to Zordon.]

Zordon : That is correct, Rangers. Because if you lose this battle,
         they will all be trapped in Rita's vortex; forever.

[Jason and the others look very troubled indeed as they contemplate
 the tremendous responsibility that has been laid at their feet.]
