Announcer's voice : Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to the Angel Grove
                    Martial Arts Expo!

[The demonstration comes to an end, and the crowd cheers.]

Announcer's voice : Let's hear it for that awesome display of Martial
                    Arts.

[As the announcer speaks, the focus shifts to the five Rangers on the
 sidelines. Jason, wearing a red vest, is getting ready to take part
 in the Expo. Billy(with a towel draped over his right shoulder) and
 Zack are standing to his left; Kimberly(holding a drink bottle) and
 Trini are standing to his right. Trini rubs Jason's stomach whilst
 Zack massages his shoulders.]

 Zack : All right now, Jase, now remember: think positive, concentrate
        on your moves.
Trini : Yeah, and focus your mind [points to her head] as well as your
        body. [touches Jason's stomach]

[Kimberly sips from the drink bottle.]

Jason : [quietly] Thanks, guys, but, ah, it looks like I'm gonna need
        all the help I can get.

[The source of his disquiet is now revealed: another Expo participant
 practicing his moves across the room. This well-muscled young man is
 wearing a green vest and has a matching headband over his long, dark
 hair. He performs a series of spinning kicks followed by some rapid
 arm movements.]

[Zack watches the display, notably impressed. Billy shakes his head in
 silent, stunned respect.]

Zack : Man, that dude is pumped.

[Still shaken, Billy nods agreement.]

    Zack : [to others] Who is he?
   Trini : I don't know. Probably some new kid in school.
Kimberly : [captivated] He is really cute.

[Trini smiles at Kimberly. Jason grimaces in the direction of Zack and
 Billy and then favours Kimberly with the same expression. Kimberly
 grins in return.]

Announcer's voice : Coming up next: a Karate competition featuring
                    Angel Grove's finest ... and a new challenger.

[Jason continues warming up as the announcer speaks; across the room,
 the mysterious green challenger is doing the same.]

[Up on the Palace Balcony, an impressed Rita moves her eye away from
 the telescope. As the camera pulls back, it can be seen that her
 minions, minus Finster, are also present.]

  Rita : Ooh, did you see that guy? He'll be a great Green Ranger!
Goldar : [turning towards her] Hah!
 Baboo : Huh? You mean one of their own kind?
Goldar : Of course!
  Rita : [grinning] Hoo, I'm such a genius.
Goldar : [repeatedly raising sword in excitement] How brilliant: the
         Power Rangers destroyed by another teenager!
  Rita : Yes!
Squatt : Yes!
 Baboo : [simultaneously] Ooh, yes! [nods to Squatt] Uh-huh!
Squatt : [nods to Baboo] Huh-hoo!

[The pair of them hurry away.]

Baboo : I can't wait to see how Rita's gonna pull this off!

[The scene closes with an exterior shot of the Palace. Most of its
 lights are strangely dimmed ... a literal indication of the dark work
 afoot.]

[Cross back to the Youth Center, focusing upon a purple "Martial Arts
 Expo" banner.]

Voice : Come-to-me!

[Jason's bout against the green challenger has now begun. As the scene
 begins, the scoreboard shows 58 seconds left on the clock. It also
 reveals the challenger's name(Tommy) and lists the score as 1:1.]

[Jason flips backwards, goes on the defensive against a high kick
 followed by three spin-kicks, and fights back with a spin-kick of
 his own, sending Tommy to the mat. The referee steps in.]

Referee : Break ... break.

(Jason's friends watch from the sidelines.]

   Zack : All right!
  Trini : [rubs hands in delight] Yes!
Referee : [off-screen] Return to center.

[Jason and Tommy are now back in the middle of the mat waiting for the
 judges' decision. Tommy is standing to the left of the referee; Jason
 is standing to the right.]

Referee : Judge's call: [raises right hand] one point.

[The scoreboard updates to 2:1(in Jason's favour) as the clock counts
 down from 0:44 to 0:42.]

Referee : Fight stance!

[Jason and Tommy go into fighting stance. The referee sticks out his
 hand.]

Referee : [quickly] Come-to-me! [steps back]

[Jason opens with a flying kick at Tommy, who quickly rolls out of the
 way. Tommy gets to his feet and back-flips over Jason's next kick. He
 dodges a third kick, ducks a fourth, and finally retaliates with a
 spinning attack of his own, taking Jason down.]

Referee : [intervening] Break, break, break!

[Focus briefly upon Kimberly, Trini, Billy, and Zack. The four of them
 now seem a little more wary.]

Referee : [off-screen] Return to center.

[Jason and Tommy return to the center of the mat.]

Referee : Judge's call: [raises left hand] one point.

[The scoreboard places the score at 2:2 and counts down from 0:39 to
 0:37.]

Referee : [off-screen] Fighting stance. [on-screen] Come-to-me!

[Jason ducks another spinning kick from Tommy. Tommy hesitates for a
 moment and then bears down on his opponent with a kick and a couple
 of punches. Jason is sent to the mat, and Tommy strikes him again.]

Referee : [moving Tommy away] Break, break, break!

[This is followed by a shot of the avid crowd.]

Referee's voice : Return to center!

[The three judges are briefly shown. Two trophies and a bell can be
 seen at their table.]

Referee : Judge's call: [raises left hand] one point.

[Billy, Trini, Zack, and Kimberly are now watching anxiously.]

Referee's voice : Fighting stance.

[The scoreboard updates to 2:3(in Tommy's favour) and counts down
 from 0:31 to 0:29.]

Referee : [off-screen] Come-to-me!

[Jason charges at Tommy, throwing a powerful high-kick. Tommy ducks it
 and retaliates with an onslaught of spinning kicks and punches; Jason
 is forced onto the defensive ... and off the mat.]

Referee : Break, break, break-break-break! Back to center, back to
          center.

[Jason and Tommy return to the middle of the mat.]

Referee : Judge's call: [indicates Jason] out of bounds.

[The scoreboard is updated to 2:4 in Tommy's favour.]

Referee : [off-screen] Win one point. Fighting stance!

[Jason's friends are watching even more anxiously.]

Referee's voice : Come-to-me!

[Jason spin-kicks towards Tommy and takes him down with a side-kick.]

Referee : Break, break!

[Jason and Tommy return to the center.]

Referee : Judge's call: [raises right hand] one point.
   Zack : [calling] Come on, Jason!
Referee : [off-screen] Fighting stance!
   Zack : [calling] Time's running out!

[The scoreboard counts down from 0:05 to 0:03 ... ]

Referee's voice : Come-to-me!

[Tommy rushes Jason, throwing a kick and two punches. Jason blocks the
 first, dodges the second, and knocks Tommy to the mat with the aid of
 a couple of kicks. He lands a final strike upon his downed opponent
 and then steps back.]

Referee : Time!

[Cross over to Kimberly, Billy, Trini, and Zack. Trini and Zack seem
 particularly pleased.]

Zack : Yes!

[The remaining second counts down, and the bell rings to end the
 match.]

Referee : Judge's call: [raises right hand] one point.

[Ernie smiles in the background.]

Referee : Match ends in a draw: no winner. Bow to me.

[The crowd applauds as Tommy and Jason bow to the referee. He bows to
 them in return.]

Referee : Bow to each other.

[Tommy and Jason bow to each other and then shake hands.]

Jason : Good match, man. You got me going.
Tommy : [friendly] Yeah, same here.
Jason : See you round.
Tommy : Okay.

[Tommy and Jason turn and go their separate ways; the crowd continues
 to applaud them.]

   Jason : [rejoining his friends] Cool match(?)
   Billy : Most impressive(?) {jumbled}
Kimberly : [smiling] You did great!
    Zack : You were awesome, Jason.

[Billy slips the towel over Jason's right shoulder and pats him on the
 back. Jason gratefully takes the drink bottle from Kimberly, and the
 five of them start walking away.]

Jason : I didn't win. [starts sipping drink]
Trini : [gently chiding] Oh, come on, Jason. In Karate, it's the
        dignity and spirit with which you compete that's most
        important.
Jason : Mm-hm, I know. Listen, I'm gonna catch a shower, and, ah, I'll
        meet you guys at the Juice Bar.
 Zack : Sounds good.
Trini : Okay.

[Jason gives Zack a friendly tap and heads off to the showers(Billy
 claps him on the back as he goes). Billy, Trini, and Zack then walk
 up towards the Juice Bar. Kimberly stays behind, seemingly entranced
 by something(or someone) off-screen. After a moment, Trini returns.]

Trini : Hey, Kim, are you coming?

[Kimberly has been staring at Tommy. Unaware of this scrutiny, Tommy
 shakes hands with another martial artist.]

Tommy : [smiling] Yeah, thanks.

[Trini puts her arm around Kimberly's shoulders.]

   Trini : [smiling] He is gorgeous, isn't he?
Kimberly : [slight laugh] Yeah, you can say that again.

[They watch Tommy towelling himself.]

   Trini : Maybe you'll catch him in school tomorrow.
Kimberly : [nods] Yeah.
   Trini : Come on.

[Trini turns around and leads Kimberly towards the Juice Bar.]

[Cross to an exterior shot of Angel Grove High School, presumably the
 next day. Inside, a student, engrossed in a book, approaches his
 locker. Kimberly is standing nearby, removing some books from hers.]

[Bulk and Skull sidle into view, the former consuming some kind of
 chocolate-covered snack.]

   Skull : [seedy] Hey, baaabe. [grins and goes into strong-man pose]
           Need a big, strong man to help you with your books?
Kimberly : Dream on, Skull.
    Bulk : Oh-ho. [puts snack inside jacket] Time to teach her a
           lesson.

[Skull nods and prepares to remove his own jacket ... and that's when
 Tommy steps in.]

Tommy : [curtly] Hey. Didn't you hear the lady?

[Bulk, Skull, and Kimberly turn to face him. Bulk and Skull regard
 Tommy with contempt.]

Tommy : [to Bulk] She said no. [glares at Skull]

[A pause whilst this sinks in ... ]

Bulk : [dangerously] I think it's time for somebody else to be taught
       a lesson.

[Skull grins menacingly.]

[Calling upon his notable skills, Tommy starts chopping and kicking at
 top speed, thoroughly alarming Bulk and Skull. Kimberly grins. In the
 background, one of the classroom doors is opened.]

Bulk : [shell-shocked] M-maybe we'll teach you that lesson s-some
       other time!

[Skull puts on a reassuring grin. The two of them utter barely audible
 "Yeah"s and do an abrupt about-face, Bulk raising his eyebrows in
 shock. Tommy watches in mild disgust as they flee the scene.]

Skull's voice : [desperately] Go over to the RIGHT!!

[Bulk is barging down the left side of the corridor with Skull in tow,
 right towards the open door.]

Skull : [wretchedly] The door!

[Bulk narrowly dodges the door, and Skull stumbles after him. Tommy
 watches them go, shaking his head. Kimberly chuckles in appreciation,
 and Tommy is also smiling as he turns to face her.]

Kimberly : Thanks. That was really great.
   Tommy : Sure. [brief hesitation] I'll see you later. [walks away]
Kimberly : Hey!

[Tommy turns back, still smiling.]

Kimberly : Um, I'm Kimberly. You're new around here, aren't you?
   Tommy : Yeah. I'm Tommy.

[They shake hands.]

Kimberly : Hi.
   Tommy : Hi.
Kimberly : Um ... listen, do you want to get together with some of us
           after school? You know, nothing major, just hang out, at
           the Youth Center?
   Tommy : [nodding] Yeah. That sounds cool.
Kimberly : [smiling] Okay.
   Tommy : Well, I'll see you then. [starts walking away] Bye.
Kimberly : Bye.

[Kimberly beams, obviously smitten.]

[Cross to a shot of the moon's cratered surface followed by a panning
 shot of Rita's Palace from bottom to top. Its lights are now back on
 again.]

Rita's voice : Soon, young Tommy, you will go under my spell, as I
               call forth the power of the sixth Power Coin!

[Rita is chanting strange words and making arcane gestures over her
 crystal ball. Focus in upon the magical skull; its eye-sockets glow
 red as she speaks.]

Rita : You will become my evil Green Ranger, after you face my Putties
       in a test. [chanting] Yol ya-zha shabah!

[The skull's eye-sockets flash red again.]

Rita : Bom-zhe-dah-deh ... BAAAAAAA-SHELAH!!

[Flickering lights appear inside the crystal ball.]

[Elsewhere, Tommy and a couple of other guys are walking through the
 city. Tommy has a green bag slung over his left shoulder.]

         Tommy : [to others] All right.
Tommy & Others : See you later.

[Tommy waves and turns off into an alley lined with garbage cans and
 boxes. Suddenly, startled, he looks up to see several Putties(three
 are shown in the air) somersaulting towards him. In no time at all,
 he is surrounded by five of them and preparing for combat. The clay
 soldiers swarm around him, some swapping positions, and during this
 time it can be seen that the five have mysteriously become four.]

Note - some of the editing in this scene is weird. A slight degree of
       guesswork has been employed with regards to the numbering of
       Putties.

[One of the Putties delivers a hard kick to Tommy's torso. He doubles
 over from the force of the blow and falls towards another Patroller,
 discarding his bag along the way. This Putty shoves him back towards
 the first one; he ducks its kick and then pushes it up against the
 alley wall. Without losing momentum he flips the clay soldier over
 his head, and then his outstretched hands touch brick.]

[A Putty punches Tommy, sending him staggering into the clutches of
 another. After a brief struggle he flips this opponent into a pile
 of boxes and garbage bags, sending up a cloud of dust. He then goes
 into defensive stance against the others.]

[Tommy turns to the right just in time to see a punch which knocks him
 back several paces. After watching the swarming Putties for a moment,
 he calls a battle-cry and resumes defensive stance. From here on, the
 tide begins to change.]

[A Putty kicks Tommy against the wall and follows up with a quick
 double-punch. Tommy ducks a fourth blow and then back-kicks his
 opponent into the wall. The Putty collapses.]

[Searching for an advantage, Tommy suddenly fixates upon a discarded
 garbage can lid. He flips towards the lid, seizes it, and springs
 back into the fray.]

[Using the lid as a makeshift shield, Tommy blocks a Putty's punch and
 then kicks the soldier away. Another Putty comes at him with a flying
 kick. Tommy again blocks with the lid and retaliates with a jumping
 spin-kick that sends his opponent flying. Turning towards a third(or
 possibly the first) Patroller, he uses his shield to block a rather
 ineffectual kick, strikes it against the Putty's back, and finally
 shoves the soldier away.]

[One of the two remaining Putties presses the attack. Tommy side-steps
 its blows and swings with the lid, hitting the Patroller as it tries
 to back-flip. He spin-kicks the Putty, felling it.]

[Tommy hurls the lid, frisbee-style, at the last Putty. The metal disc
 slams into the Putty's chest and knocks the soldier into a huge pile
 of boxes and garbage bags.]

Tommy : [in battle stance] Huh! Tchuh!

[The defeated Putties vanish; Tommy shakes his head in bewilderment.]

Tommy : [to himself] Man! Why me?

[Up on Rita's Balcony, the flickering candles serve only to emphasise
 the eerie atmosphere. Rita, Finster, Baboo, and Squatt are present.]

Rita : Yes ... this boy is truly the one that shall become my evil
       Green Ranger!

[And with that, she holds her Wand aloft. Lightning surges into it,
 and the Balcony is rocked with sparks. Finster, Squatt, and Baboo
 cower as the lightning suffuses the skull with power.]

Rita's voice : Prepare my crystal ball to receive him!

[The skull's eye-sockets fire multi-coloured energy beams into the
 crystal ball, which glows in the same way.]

[Back in the alley, Tommy picks up his discarded bag.]

Tommy : [to himself] That was like a bad dream.

[He is just slinging the bag over his shoulder when an unnatural wind
 starts to gather around him. Tinges of green light reflect from his
 body as he lowers the bag, transfers it from left hand to right, and
 drops it again.]

       Tommy : Hey! What's going on?!
Rita's voice : Tommy!

[Looking up, he sees a shadowy Rita standing on top of a building.]

 Rita : I have chosen you!
Tommy : [defiantly] Noooo!!!

[Rita cackles and zaps Tommy with her Wand. His body is engulfed with
 yellow/green fire, and he vanishes from sight.]

[Cross back to an exterior shot of Rita's Palace, revealing its lights
 to have been doused once more. Inside, the skull finishes charging up
 the crystal ball. Rita's minions(now including Goldar) gather around
 as she picks it up.]

Rita : [examining crystal ball] Ho, there you are. You've arrived at
       last. [to minions] What do you think?

[A mysterious dark chamber is now portrayed. A shrouded figure lies
 within, surrounded by a rectangle of lit candles. Green light
 pulsates throughout the room.]

Squatt's voice : He's perfect, your Evilness!

[Rita makes arcane gestures over her crystal ball.]

Rita : [incanting] Yom ... yah-shah sha-ba!

[The green light flashes through the candle chamber with greater
 intensity(Rita's voice : Receive the Power!).]

  Rita : [incanting] Om shez-naaaaa ... zeh ... hebuh!
Squatt : [excited] Yes! Yes!

[The skull's eye-sockets flash red again.]

Rita's voice : Arise, my Green Ranger!

[In the chamber, the figure sits up. Lights shine upon him, and the
 shroud dissipates. Although the figure is portrayed in shadow, there
 is a noticeable discrepancy between his features and those belonging
 to Tommy.]

[Focus upon his unkempt face. Its dark eyes spring open, with flashes
 of blue sparks, and then glow green. A moment later, this visage
 melds into Tommy's regular face. Blue sparks flash again, briefly
 covering his brown eyes.]

       Tommy : [dully] How can I serve my Empress?
Rita's voice : As a Ranger you can now enter the Command Center. There
               you'll disable Zordon, and then destroy the Power
               Rangers.

[As Rita continues to speak, "Day Of The Dumpster" footage shows each
 Ranger individually morphing.]

Rita's voice : Jason, the Red Ranger ... Zack, the Black Ranger ...
               Kimberly, the Pink Ranger ... Billy, the Blue Ranger
               ... and Trini, the Yellow Ranger.

[Focus on the entranced Tommy again.]

Rita's voice : Now, prepare to receive the sixth Power Coin, and
               become my Green Ranger!

[Tommy silently holds out his right hand. As he stares into his open
 palm, a claw-symbol Power Coin appears within, momentarily burning
 with green fire. His fist closes over it.]

[Over in the Command Center, Alpha is arguing with Zordon.]

 Alpha : But, Zordon, I might miss out!
Zordon : Would you -please- take this opportunity to recharge, while I
         place myself into a meditative state?
 Alpha : [humbly] Yes, Zordon. You're right, of course.

[Back in the dark chamber, Tommy stands up, still tightly clenching
 his Power Coin.]

Rita's voice : And now, morph into the Green Ranger!

[Tommy is again illuminated by flashes of green light. There is a loud
 flash-bang, and a cloud of green smoke hides him from view. When it
 clears, the Green Ranger is revealed.]

[His uniform resembles that of the other Rangers, the main difference
 being a golden neck shield which protects his upper torso. A diamond
 shape makes up the base of this shield. The costume has gold bands
 upon its sleeves, and the visor of the helmet is rimmed with sharp
 teeth, in a similar manner to that of the Red Ranger. A thin crest
 runs across the top, and two "eyes" can be seen upon the temples.]

Green Ranger : [raising right fist] To the fall of Zordon, and the
               destruction of the Power Rangers!

[Over in the Command Center, yellow/green fire rises from the floor
 near the Viewing Globe, outlining the form of the Green Ranger. He
 looks around for a moment and then sneaks towards the inner circle.]

Rita's voice : You know what to do.
Green Ranger : [with soft intensity] Your wish is my command, Empress.

[Unfortunately for all concerned, Alpha has taken Zordon's advice and
 is currently being recharged just outside the inner circle. The Green
 Ranger creeps over to the helpless robot, produces a disc from his
 belt, and shoves it into the compartment on Alpha's back.]

Alpha : [stirring] Alert! Alert! Hostile takeover!

[The Green Ranger rips out the cord connecting Alpha to the recharging
 unit.]

Green Ranger : [menacingly] Sweet dreams, tinhead.
       Alpha : Alert. [deactivating] Alert. Alerrrrt ...

[From here on, Alpha starts making small, disoriented motions, now
 effectively disabled. Zordon addresses the intruder.]

      Zordon : How is it possible that you are here? Only one who has
               a Power Coin may enter this fortress undetected.
Green Ranger : [stepping up] Yes, I have the Coin. [holds out hand]
               And the Power! [clenches fist] And there's -nothing-
               you can do to stop me.

      Zordon : So Rita has finally chosen someone to give it to.
Green Ranger : [nods and indicates self] Right, Zordon. I am her Green
               Ranger, and -she- is my Queen.
      Zordon : Tommy, she has you under an evil spell. Let me help. I
               can save you.
Green Ranger : Worry about saving yourself, old man!

[He suddenly begins ripping out the control panels.]

Zordon : No! You must not do this. Alpha! Alpha 5, wake up!

[Zordon's image becomes less substantial as the Green Ranger continues
 his frenzied rampage.]

Zordon : Alpha, you must warn the other Power Rangers! Tommy, stop!
         You don't know what you're doing! No! I'm losing power!
         Losing my orientation ... losing contact with your dimension!
         Tommy ... nooo!!

[The Green Ranger laughs amidst the destruction he has wrought.]

Green Ranger : [gleefully] It is done, my Empress. Zordon has been
               eliminated. And the Power Rangers are -next-!

[The Green Ranger illustrates the last point by slapping his left fist
 against his right hand; he then laughs evilly as Zordon's image fades
 away. The last part of this footage plays again, presumably owing to
 a commercial break.]

Green Ranger : So long, Zordon. My work here is -done-.

[He touches the Morpher on his belt buckle, and his body is once again
 covered with green/yellow fire. The evil blaze vanishes from head to
 toe, leaving no trace of him behind.]

[Cross up to Rita, peering over the edge of her Balcony.]

Rita : Yess! [turns around] And now, for an even BIGGER ... surprise!

[Her wicked laughter is heard as the focus shifts to some images of a
 lush, mountainous area, followed by a shot of a dark cave. Baboo and
 Squatt are standing nearby.]

Squatt : With Zordon out of the way, it's just a matter of time before
         Rita controls the whole -world-! [laughs]
Goldar : [also standing nearby, on a separate shot] Ready, Empress!
  Rita : [on Balcony] Magic Wand, make my Goldar grow!

[She throws her Wand; it lands on Earth and grows the growling Goldar
 to giant size.]

Squatt : [excited] Oh, boy! You watch! He'll crush them all!
Goldar : [stomping forward] And now for an end to those Power Rangers!

[Over at Billy's garage, Billy, Zack, and Jason are cleaning the
 RADBUG.]

Billy : I don't think I've ever seen the RADBUG this clean.
 Zack : [chuckles] Yeah, well, ah, it's gonna be stylin' after Zack's
        Wax. [laughs]
Jason : "Zack's Wax"? [throws cloth at Zack's face]
 Zack : Hey! [throws cloth at Jason, laughs, and points "warningly"]

[Just then, Kimberly and Trini arrive. Kimberly seems a bit subdued.]

   Trini : Hey, what's up?
    Zack : Hey, ladies, just in time. [hands cloth to Kimberly] Just
           grab a rag and ... join in. [indicates RADBUG]
Kimberly : [returns cloth] No, I'm not in the mood.
    Zack : What's wrong?
   Trini : Tommy.

[Kimberly turns to Trini in mild shock; apparently that was privileged
 information.]

   Jason : The guy I fought in the competition.
Kimberly : Yeah ... he was supposed to meet me at the Youth Center,
           and he never showed.
    Zack : [reasonably] Well, maybe something came up.

[Kimberly gives a shrugging sort of nod. Just then, things take a more
 serious turn as Jason's communicator sounds. The Rangers gather round
 to hear a message from a very distraught Alpha.]

Alpha's voice : [via communicator, distorted] Ran-rangers! Rangers! If
                you read me, please come in, Rangers ...

[Jason taps at his communicator.]

Jason : [to communicator] Alpha, you're breaking up. I can't hear you.
Billy : [testing his own communicator] The communicators! They're non-
        functional. Teleportation's down.
Trini : [worried] Guys, something is seriously wrong.
Jason : We have to get to the Command Center.
Billy : The RADBUG.
 Zack : It's the only way to fly.

[Billy nods, and the five of them climb aboard. Trini gets in through
 the right passenger door, whilst Zack and Kimberly(in that order) get
 in through the left one. Jason and Billy start to enter through the
 front doors, the latter taking the driver's seat.]

Billy : Buckle up, everyone.

[Switch to a shot of the RADBUG soaring through the sky. A closer shot
 portrays its occupants from a "front-of-the-car" perspective. Zack
 and Kimberly have mysteriously swapped seats, but the others are in
 the same place.]

   Trini : Alpha sounded upset.
   Jason : Yeah, I think something bad is going down.
Kimberly : I bet Rita's up to something.
    Zack : Can't this thing go any faster, Billy?
   Billy : [dubiously] All right!

[The RADBUG suddenly speeds up(Everyone : Whoaaa!!), coming to a bumpy
 halt inside the wrecked Command Center. The Rangers get out.]

Jason : [shocked] Look at this place!

[A couple of quick shots portray the ruined control panels.]

Trini's voice : The control panels have been ripped out!

[Inside the main circle, Alpha is moving jerkily. Crackling energy is
 all that can be seen of Zordon.]

Zack's voice : Oh, man, this place is totalled.
    Kimberly : Look! [points] You guys, Zordon's gone.

[The five of them rush over to Alpha.]

Billy : [horrified] Alpha! What happened?!
Alpha : [uncontrollably/voice distorted] Power Rangers! Power Rangers!
        Come in! I need help! Power Rangers!
 Zack : [simultaneously] What's wrong with him??
Billy : Someone must have fed a virus into his data bank.
Alpha : Power Rangers!
Trini : [upset] Billy ... can you help him?
Alpha : Power Rangers, come in! I need help!

[Billy removes the disc from Alpha's back. Alpha stops convulsing.]

Alpha : Power Rangers ...
Billy : [somewhat surprised] Affirmative.
Alpha : [returning to normal] Power Rangers, you're here!
 Zack : Alpha, who did this to you? Where's Zordon??
Alpha : All my memory chips have been scrambled. No recollection! Was
        barely able to contact you.
Jason : Somebody obviously broke into the Command Center.
Trini : But -who-? No-one has access to this place without a Power
        Coin.

[Kimberly has noticed something on the Viewing Globe.]

Kimberly : [worried] Look at this.

[She touches Jason's arm to get his attention. Everyone walks over to
 the Viewing Globe.]

Zack : It's Goldar.

[The Viewing Globe shows Goldar growling menacingly.]

Jason : Alpha, we have to stop him. You'll be all right?
Alpha : I'm semi-operational. You take care of Goldar. I'll try to
        locate Zordon.
Jason : It's Morphin' Time!

[The Rangers reach for their Morphers, and the Morphing Sequence
 begins.]

    Zack : Mastodon! [morphs into the Black Ranger]
Kimberly : Pterodactyl! [morphs into the Pink Ranger]
   Billy : Triceratops! [morphs into the Blue Ranger]
   Trini : Sabre-toothed Tiger! [morphs into the Yellow Ranger]
   Jason : Tyrannosaurus! [morphs into the Red Ranger]

[The Rangers appear out in the mountains. They go into battle stance,
 Blade Blasters at the ready.]

Rangers : Power Rangers!
 Squatt : [excitedly] The Power Rangers are here, Rita! Bring on the
          Putty Patrol!

[A dark grey Putty Patroller leaps towards the Black Ranger. He dodges
 its attack and chops another(normal) opponent with his Blade Blaster,
 knocking it away. Turning, he strikes the first Patroller, stuns it
 with a kick, and sends it rolling with a hard blow from his weapon.]

[Nearby, the Pink Ranger flips towards a couple of Putties. She spins
 around, swinging her Blade Blaster, and takes one of them down. With
 a kick and a slash, she tackles the other.]

[Goldar growls fiercely, watching from above. Standing upon a nearby
 cliff-top, the Green Ranger is also observing the melee, seemingly
 unnoticed by all. He lowers his clenched fist as he speaks.]

Green Ranger : To the beginning of the -end- for the Power Rangers!
      Squatt : [capering below] W-hoa, this is gonna be fun! Go get
               'em, Goldar!
      Goldar : [advancing] Get them, Putty Patrollers! Get them all!
               [laughs and draws back sword as if to strike]

[Identical Pink Ranger battle footage, seen a couple of moments ago,
 is now repeated. Goldar growls and laughs as he watches from behind
 a cliff. The Green Ranger is not visible upon it; he must be standing
 elsewhere.]

[The Yellow Ranger slashes a Putty with her Blade Blaster, whirls
 around, and slices a second opponent.]

[The Blue Ranger takes down two Putties; the Red Ranger disposes of
 two more and strikes a third.]

[Goldar growls and shatters the cliff with his sword. Boulders roll
 towards the Rangers(now standing together again).]

Red Ranger : Come on, Rangers, we've got to keep it together!
     Baboo : Ba-ba-bing! Ba-ba-bang!
Red Ranger : We gotta stop Goldar! We need Dinozord Power NOW!

[The Rangers raise their arms to the sky. Each Zord is briefly focused
 upon: the Tyrannosaurus rising from its firepit, the Mastodon running
 through icy wastes, the Triceratops moving through the desert, the
 Sabre-toothed Tiger leaping out of its forest, and the Pterodactyl
 flying out of its volcano. The five of them are then shown on-screen
 together.]

Red Ranger : Do it!

[The Rangers leap into the air in the following order: Red, Pink and
 Yellow, Blue and Black. Each arrives in his or her cockpit.]

   Red Ranger : [in Tyrannosaurus] Log on!
 Black Ranger : [in Mastodon] All right! Let's do it to it!
  Blue Ranger : [in Triceratops] Systems nominal.
Yellow Ranger : [in Sabre-toothed Tiger] Yes! Ready to rock!
  Pink Ranger : [in Pterodactyl] All right, let's get it together!
   Red Ranger : [in Tyrannosaurus] All right, power up your Crystals!

[As he speaks, the Red Ranger removes the Power Coin from his Morpher,
 upon which the words "Zyuranger" and "Kyoryusentai" are visible. He
 converts the Coin into a Power Crystal and inserts it in the control
 panel.]

Other Rangers : [inserting their Power Crystals] 2 ... 1 ... Power Up!

[The Megazord(in Tank Mode) forms. Cross to its cockpit.]

Red Ranger : Switch into Megazord Battle Mode, now! [grabs Crystal]

[The Dinozord insignia lights up, and there is a quick shot of the
 back of the Rangers' heads in the rising cockpit as the Megazord
 enters Battle Mode.]

Voice : Megazord Sequence has been initiated.

[The Megazord finishes its transformation.]

Voice : Megazord activated!

[Charges of lightning touch the completed Megazord. Goldar growls and
 draws back his sword in preparation for combat.]

Red Ranger : [in cockpit, urgently] We need the Power Sword, now!

[The Power Sword drops into the Megazord's right hand. Cutting the
 blade through the air, the Megazord advances upon Goldar, slicing
 him as they pass side-by-side. The combatants lock blades for a
 moment and then draw away, slashing each other in the process.]

[Goldar springs off the ground and slams both feet into the Megazord's
 chest, producing a shower of sparks and causing the battle vehicle to
 reel. The gold warrior spins back through the air and neatly lands
 some distance away.]

Goldar : [re-advancing] Prepare to feel the wrath of Rita Repulsa!

[Goldar laughs as battle is resumed. Locking swords once more, the two
 of them begin to circle each other.]

Squatt : [below, excited] Oh, boy! Wow!

[Goldar growls one last time and suddenly vanishes! The Megazord takes
 an inadvertant step towards his last location and then stops. Inside
 its cockpit, the Rangers are now looking towards the ground.]

  Blue Ranger : Who's -that-?
Yellow Ranger : Huh?

[The five of them have caught their first glimpse of the Green Ranger
 standing below.]

Green Ranger : My turn! [leaps onto the Megazord's head]

Green Ranger : Time to meet the Green Ranger!

[He opens the door at the back of the cockpit, startling the other
 Rangers.]

 Blue Ranger : We gotta- Hey!
Green Ranger : [clenching fist] Long live Empress Rita!

[The Green Ranger punches the Yellow Ranger; she flies against the
 control panels, throwing up an explosion of sparks. The others are
 thrown by the impact.]

[Switch to an exterior view of the Megazord. It shakes, sparks flying,
 as the inner battle escalates, and in no time the apparently defeated
 Power Rangers come tumbling out of the sky in this order: Blue/Pink,
 Black/Yellow, and finally Red. The Green Ranger drops neatly after
 them.]

[The Power Rangers crash-land upon rocky ground in front of a set of
 stone stairs. The Green Ranger lands on his feet.]

Green Ranger : You're finished!

[The Green Ranger charges into battle, kicking at the Red Ranger, who
 rolls clear. He ducks away from the Blue Ranger's attack, blocks a
 kick from the Yellow Ranger, and takes down the latter with a kick
 of his own.]

[The Green Ranger turns and blocks an attack from the Pink Ranger,
 knocks her down with a single hard strike, and whirls around just
 in time to duck a jump-kick from the Black Ranger.]

[Leaping off the ground, the Green Ranger locks his legs around the
 Yellow Ranger's neck. He twists them, wrenching her head to one side,
 and simultaneously grapples with the Blue Ranger. The Yellow Ranger
 disentangles herself, and the Green Ranger's feet hit the ground. Now
 standing securely, he easily throws off the Blue Ranger.]

[The Pink Ranger leaps at the Green Ranger, Blade Blaster drawn. He
 deflects the attack and kicks at her. As he does so, the focus shifts
 up to Rita, who has been watching from the Palace Balcony.]

Rita : [delighted] Haha! Yes!

[Back on Earth, the Green Ranger is now facing the Black Ranger, both
 wielding Blade Blasters(the latter's stolen from the Pink Ranger). He
 chops at the Black Ranger, who parries with his own weapon, and then
 slashes the Pink Ranger, knocking her to the ground.]

[The Green Ranger turns and parries with the Black Ranger again, then
 launches a kick, which is ducked by the latter. His next attack is
 more successful: a fierce chop which sends the Black Ranger rolling
 back towards the steps, groaning in pain.]

[The Black Ranger comes to a halt near the downed Pink Ranger. The
 Red, Yellow, and Blue Rangers hurry to their sides.]

Yellow Ranger : [to the Black Ranger] Are you okay?
   Red Ranger : [to the Green Ranger, defiantly] You think you're so
                tough? [touches chest] Take me on!
 Green Ranger : With pleasure!

[The Green Ranger hurls his appropriated Blade Blaster at the Red
 Ranger's chest. There is an explosion of sparks, and the Red Ranger
 reels back, his suit partially scorched. They charge at each other,
 and battle re-commences.]

[Both Rangers launch simultaneous high-kicks, and both miss. The Red
 Ranger spin-kicks at the Green Ranger, who ducks; the Green Ranger
 spin-kicks at the Red Ranger, who similarly dodges. As if fighting
 in a mirror, the well-matched pair block a third kick from each
 other.]

[The Green Ranger grabs his opponent's hands and starts to force them
 down. All of a sudden, he knocks them into the air, leaving the Red
 Ranger's torso unprotected. Two blows stun the leader of the Power
 Rangers, and a third sends him rolling back towards the others. He
 staggers to his feet.]

  Blue Ranger : [concerned] Jason!
Yellow Ranger : Oh, no!

[The Green Ranger summons up a green ball of energy and hurls it at
 the others. It rips into them, producing a considerable explosion,
 and knocks them off their feet. Freeze in upon the laughing Green
 Ranger.]

[Back in the Command Center, Alpha is working at the damaged control
 panels, desperately trying to locate Zordon.]

Alpha : Ai-yi-yi-yi-yi! Ai-yi-yi-yi-yi! Zordon, come in!

[Zordon's tube crackles silently ... ]

Alpha : Zordon! [pushes buttons] Ai-yi-yi-yi-YI!

[He thumps the keypad in frustration and despair.]

Alpha : [scared/concerned] Zordon, oh, Zordon ... where -are- you?

[Jason, Zack, Kimberly, Trini, and Billy teleport in behind him.]

   Jason : Alpha!
   Alpha : Rangers, I still haven't been able to bring Zordon back!
   Jason : [urgently] Well, keep trying. We need answers now!
Kimberly : A guy in a green costume attacked our Zords.
    Zack : He just busted right in! Do you have any idea who it was?
   Alpha : [sadly] I'm sorry, Rangers. I don't.

[Alpha starts convulsing again.]

   Trini : Alpha?
   Billy : [examining Alpha] He's still not competely recovered from
           the computer virus.
   Alpha : [distorted again] Quasitronic circuitry now in overload!
           Overload! Temporary shutdown! [leans forward and shuts off]
           Shutdown ...
    Zack : [tense] This is bad news. [paces away] MAN!
Kimberly : [worried] First Zordon disappears, and then this green guy
           shows.
   Jason : And I think we only got a -small- sample of his true power.
   Trini : [worried] This is all too weird. What are we gonna do?
   Jason : Prepare ourselves. We don't have Zordon to help us this
           time.
    Zack : [realising] We'll have to do it on our own.
   Jason : I think we've only made it to round one, of what's about
           to be a major battle.
   Billy : [points towards Viewing Globe] Hey, look.

[The five of them approach the Viewing Globe. It shows but a single
 chilling image: their nemesis, the Green Ranger, laughing evilly.]

Green Ranger : [on Viewing Globe] To the -fall- of the Power Rangers!

[The Power Rangers exchange troubled looks.]

Green Ranger's voice : I'll destroy you, one and all.

[His malicious laughter rings out through the ruined Command Center.]
