Jason : [quietly] Man, I wish I could get my hands on this Green
        Ranger dude.

[Kimberly and Zack approach.]

Kimberly : [to Jason] We can't get a fix on Zordon.
    Zack : And without Zordon, we have -no clue- who that Green guy
           was that attacked us.
Kimberly : Look at this place.

[As she continues, Jason examines another piece of wreckage.]

Kimberly : Whoever broke in here knew -exactly- what to do. They
           totally trashed it.

[Zack nods solemnly.]

Kimberly : And they gave Alpha a virus.

[The three Rangers turn their attention to the other side of the
 Command Center. A motionless Alpha is standing there, back plate
 removed, whilst Billy scans his circuitry with a hand-held device.
 Trini stands nearby, worriedly looking on. In the background,
 three red tubes bubble away.]

Trini : Poor Alpha ...
Jason : [calling] You making any progress, Billy?
Billy : [turns and lifts protective eyemask] I'm doing the best I can,
        but I'm unfamiliar with his circuitry. [scratches chin] I'll
        try the Subatomic Manipulator. [lowers mask, resumes work]
Trini : Let's be careful not to hurt him, Billy.
Billy : Trust me, Trini, he can't feel anything. Even if we get him
        working again, there's no telling what shape his memory'll be
        in.

[Alpha jerks back to life.]

Billy : [gasps and raises mask] Hey, he's starting up!
Trini : [tense] Come on, Alpha!
Alpha : [shuffles around] Circuitry now operational. Operational.
        [suddenly, to Billy] Dude! [to Trini] Dudette!

[Trini bursts into relieved laughter.]

   Trini : Alpha, you're back!
Kimberly : [relieved] Good job, Billy!
    Zack : [grinning] All right, Alpha!
   Jason : [flatly] I think he'll be okay. But we still have to find a
           way to get Zordon back ... and figure out the story with
           that Green Ranger dude.

[Jason discards the piece of debris and turns away from the others,
 taking his thoughts with him, yet leaving them behind. Kimberly's
 face falls, as does Zack's, realising the truth of their leader's
 words. Zack watches him go and steps closer to Kimberly, briefly
 putting his arm around her. Both focus upon the revived Alpha,
 their faces a study in solemnness.]

[Cross to an exterior shot of Rita's Palace. Over on the Balcony,
 Rita moves away from her telescope, roaring with laughter.]

  Rita : Ah-hah-hah-hah! Finally, we can begin Phase Two of my plan.
Goldar : [standing nearby] Yess, and crush those Rangers!
  Rita : And that means the time has come to call on my Green Ranger.
Goldar : First, give him the Sword of Darkness.
  Rita : [hurrying off] Perfect idea. Perfect idea! FINSTER!!!

Finster : [in workshop, turns to the left] Ah ... yes, your Evilness?
   Rita : [barging in] Finster, I want to give Green Ranger the evil
          Sword of Darkness. [forcefully] You do remember it, don't
          you?
Finster : Oh, -yes-. I do.

[Flashback footage shows an axe-wielding Japanese warrior battling a
 dark knight in the wilderness.]

Finster's voice : When your evil knight defeated Zordon's soldiers
                  thousands of years ago, it was taken from him and
                  presented to you as a prize.

[As Finster speaks, the footage changes to a shot of the Sword of
 Darkness: a twisted, green-hued blade with a red gem implanted in
 its hilt.]

Finster : If you give it to Green Ranger, it has the power to keep him
          under your spell forever, as long as no-one destroys it.

[Rita nods, grinning with satisfaction.]

Finster : The problem, my Queen, is that Zordon knows its secret.
   Rita : Yes. But he's gone! [laughs wickedly]

[Close with a shot of the moon's cratered surface.]

[Cross back to the alley as shown in "Green with Evil Part I". Green/
 yellow fire blazes as Tommy re-appears, unmorphed after his last
 battle. He looks from side to side for a moment, until Rita's voice
 catches his attention; she is standing on the roof once more.]

 Rita : Green Ranger! You will remain here on Earth until further
        notice.
Tommy : Whatever pleases my Empress.
 Rita : Remember to keep your identity as the Green Ranger a secret.
        No-one must learn the truth.
Tommy : As you wish ... my Empress.
 Rita : Yes! [laughs and fades away]

[Tommy stares down at the Power Coin in his hand. Once again, it
 sparks with emerald fire. His eyes widen, the sinister glow flashing
 there, too.]

[Just then, Bulk and Skull walk past the entrance to the alley. Skull
 stops - Bulk bumps into him - and points out Tommy, who eyes the duo
 impassively.]

 Bulk : Well, looky who we have here, Skull.
Skull : Yeah. It's the new kid who made you look bad at school.
 Bulk : Mm-hm. Come on!

[Sneering, Skull follows Bulk into the alley. Smirking, Bulk circles
 Tommy, who glares in return.]

 Bulk : [to Tommy] Hey! Nobody insults -Bulk-. [indicates his stomach]
Skull : Yeah. [points at Tommy for emphasis] -Nobody-!

[Tommy eyes the pointing finger, radiating silent menace. Blissfully
 unaware, Bulk continues ... ]

Bulk : I think -you- owe -me- an apology. Huh?

[Skull looks expectantly at Tommy. Tommy slowly revolves his head,
 appearing to draw upon his inner power. His brow furrows; his eyes
 narrow ... and flash green. Bulk and Skull look at each other with
 unease; they moan and start to draw back as Tommy's eyes blaze once
 more.]

[Gibbering with fear, Bulk and Skull turn tail and flee. Tommy shoots
 three green eyebolts at their feet, propelling them headfirst into a
 blue dumpster - pained sounds echo within.]

[With the hint of a malicious smile, Tommy casually flips his Power
 Coin into the air and walks off. Bulk and Skull resurface from a
 pile of garbage.]

Skull : What is with that guy?!
 Bulk : I don't know. But he should have his eyes checked!

[Skull nods agreement. Tommy looks back in their direction for a
 moment and then continues on his way.]

[Over in the Youth Center, Jason is practising with a punching bag,
 held - with increasing difficulty - by Zack. Both of them are wearing
 different clothes, indicating some passage of time. Jason's rage
 becomes increasingly vocal, matching the fury of his blows. Finally,
 he seizes the punching bag chain, steadying it.]

Jason : MAN, I wish I knew who this Green guy was! I can't get him off
        of my mind! [throws another furious punch]
 Zack : [quickly] Yo, man, lighten up.
Jason : [tense] He wears a costume like ours ... but Zordon never
        mentioned anything about a Green Ranger!
 Zack : Do you think-

[Jason quickly cuts him off as someone walks past, taking advantage
 of the brief respite to regain his breath. A moment later he nods
 subtly, indicating the coast is clear.]

 Zack : Do you think he's the one that totalled the Command Center?
Jason : It's too much of a coincidence. I mean, he shows up, and then
        Zordon's suddenly missing.
 Zack : [suddenly] Maybe the guy's working for Rita.
Jason : Maybe. But all I know for sure is that I'd like to get my
        hands on this guy.

[Cross to an exterior shot of the Command Center. Inside, the camera
 pans across one of the damaged control panels. Billy slides out from
 underneath, where he has been trying to make repairs. In a moment, 
 it will be seen that Trini is crouched near his head and that Alpha
 is standing nearby.]

Trini : Have you guys come up with any answers?
Billy : Negative. These cables and wires have been completely burned.

[He gets up, holding a burned cable.]

Alpha : Ai-yi-yi-yi-yi-yi-yi!
Trini : [stands, too] No -wonder- we can't contact Zordon.

[Focus on Zordon's crackling tube again.]

Billy : They'll have to be replaced before we can do anything.

[He discards the cable and takes a red cloth from his pocket, using
 it to clean his hands and glasses.]

Alpha : If we can get the main generator online again, I can proceed
        with locating Zordon.
Billy : And we can repair our communicators.
Trini : Can you do it, Billy?
Billy : [briefly considers] Affirmative. It's just gonna take time.
Alpha : [lamenting] -Time-! The one thing we don't have.

[Cross to an establishing shot of Angel Grove High School. Inside,
 the corridor is bustling with students. Kimberly enters, slowing
 her pace as she spies Tommy removing a folder and a book from his
 locker. Both Rangers are wearing different clothes, indicating a
 new day.]

[Nervously smoothing back her hair, Kimberly approaches Tommy. Tommy
 studies his folder, engrossed in thoughts of his own.]

Kimberly : [smiles hopefully] Tommy!

[Tommy ignores her.]

Kimberly : Tommy?

[Tommy eyes her indifferently and returns to his folder. Confused by
 his taciturn manner, Kimberly hesitates and absently hitches the
 strap of her bag over her right shoulder.]

Kimberly : So what happened to you, um, the other day after school? I
           thought we were gonna meet.

[Tommy returns the folder to his locker.]

   Tommy : [curtly] Something came up.
Kimberly : Oh. [deflated pause] You know, I just got kinda worried ...

[He turns on her.]

   Tommy : [patronisingly] Hey. I'm a big boy, Kimberly. I don't need
           -you- to worry about me.
Kimberly : [hurt] Is something wrong? 'Cos you're totally acting like-
   Tommy : [aggressively] Like what?
Kimberly : Like you're upset with me?

[Tommy steps closer, bearing down on her.]

   Tommy : Has it ever occurred to you that I might have other things
           on my mind? Newsflash, Kimberly: you are not the centre of
           everyone's universe.
Kimberly : [crushed] Well, excuse me for living!

[Kimberly storms off, turning a hurt glance at Tommy on the way. Tommy
 watches her go, darkly amused by the encounter; green fire burns in
 his narrowing eyes.]

[Cross to an exterior shot of Rita's Palace, panning from bottom to
 top.]

Rita's voice : Ha, it's working. And once he has the Sword of
               Darkness, he'll be mine forever!

[Cross to Goldar inside.]

Goldar : But the Sword of Darkness is something he must earn!
  Rita : [moving away from telescope] Heh-heh-heh, yeah-h-h!
Goldar : A test of strength against the Putties!
 Baboo : Gosh and golly, that's a wonderful idea! Can we go watch it?
Squatt : [simultaneously] Boy, oh boy, that's great! I really want
         to see that!

[Rita turns to face her minions, who gather around.]

  Rita : Yes, we'll all go down to Earth together ... [laughs] .. and
         watch Green Ranger's test.
Goldar : And once he has the Sword of Darkness, your evil spell will
         control his every move forever!

[Fade to a shot of Rita leading her minions down a cliff path. Baboo
 is second in line, followed by Squatt and Goldar. Finster brings up
 the rear.]

Rita : Come, fools. I can't wait to see -my- Ranger!

[Tommy steps into view near the edge of the cliff, tensed for battle.]

 Baboo : Here, Evil One - the Green Ranger awaits your command!
 Tommy : You summoned me. I'm at your service, my Empress. Is it time
         to crush the Power Rangers? [bunches fist]
Goldar : Patience! You must first meet a challenge. Using only your
         skill, and no weapons, you must defeat the Putties, and then
         you'll receive the Sword of Darkness.
 Tommy : [determined] Hm!
  Rita : [simultaneously] Are you prepared? Now, to battle!

[She zaps Tommy with her Wand; he vanishes in a burst of yellow/green
 fire and reappears down on the beach, turning his head from side to
 side - awaiting his second test of prowess. Five Putties materialise
 around him, and he goes into battle stance.]

Tommy : C'mon, Putties! Who wants to be first?

[The first Putty mid-kicks at Tommy. Tommy grabs its foot and throws
 the Patroller to the ground. He raises his left leg(mysteriously
 changing to the right one over a shot change) and stamps at the
 fallen Putty; it rolls aside in the nick of time.]

[Another Putty kicks Tommy in the upper back, collapsing itself in
 the process. Tommy hits the sand facedown, and spins onto his back
 as another Patroller closes in. Planting both feet on its stomach,
 he boots it into the air twice, then rolls clear as it plummets
 down.]

[Scrambling to his feet, Tommy backs away from a spinning Putty. He
 ducks a trio of kicks and springs back up, unleashing a battle cry.]

[Nearby, a Putty is boosted into the air by its comrade. The airborne
 soldier soars towards Tommy, landing its right foot squarely upon his
 chest and knocking him down. Tommy gets to his feet and goes into
 defensive stance, regarding the surrounding Putties.]

[Goldar growls from above(Goldar: Yes!). Tommy scans the battleground,
 sizing up the opposition.]

Rita : Go, my Ranger! Go!

[Tommy runs and kicks down a Putty. He leans back to avoid a kick from
 another, grabs its arm, and flips the soldier down. Finishing it off
 with a punch, he turns in Rita's direction, clenching his fist.]

Goldar : Yes! He's doing it!

[Staring at his tightly clenched fist, Tommy seems mesmerised for a
 moment ... until he is alerted to the presence of another Putty. His
 face contorts with battle rage; he hurtles towards the last soldier
 and springs, legs wide apart, locking them around its neck. He flips
 to the sand, toppling the Putty head over heels.]

[Tommy stands up, having vanquished the last foe. The defeated Putties
 blink out of sight. Smug laughter rolls in his throat as he calls to
 his dark mistress.]

Tommy : You command ... [proudly indicates chest] ..and I obey,
        my Empress!

[Baboo, Squatt, Rita, and Finster regard him from the cliff-top.]

 Rita : [delighted] Yeess! You've done it!
Baboo : [calling] Welcome to the club, bucko!

[Tommy smiles in satisfaction.]

Rita's voice : You have earned the Sword of Darkness!
       Tommy : [in anticipation] Huh!

[The Sword of Darkness materialises in his hands, but without its
 earlier green aura. Tommy examines his new weapon approvingly and
 experimentally slashes the air. Behind him, slate-coloured waves
 lap the lonely shore.]

Tommy : [laughs evilly] The Power Rangers will be -destroyed-. And
        the Red Ranger will be the first to go.

[He idly turns the twisted blade, becoming accustomed to its feel. A
 tangle of emerald lightning blazes the sky, complementing his evil
 glee.]

[Over at Billy's garage, Zack jabs his communicator again, but it only
 makes the same offline sound. Kimberly is sitting nearby, and the
 RADBUG is parked behind them.]

Kimberly : I hope Billy and Trini had some luck at the Command Center.
    Zack : Well ... [stands up] ..they haven't fixed the communicators
           yet; they're still down. Looks like we're taking the
           RADBUG.

[Cross now to a corridor at Angel Grove High School. A pair of
 students - male and female - pass by, and Jason stops them.]

Jason : Excuse me. Hey, have you guys seen that new guy, Tommy?

[The students shake their heads and continue on their way.]

Jason : Thanks.

[He proceeds along the corridor and soon reaches the main staircase,
 still looking for Tommy ... just as Tommy comes down the stairs,
 looking for him. Undaunted by the latter's expressionless features -
 or perhaps too distracted to notice - Jason begins to speak.]

Jason : Hey, yo, Tommy. [apologetically] Listen, I know I said I'd
        work out with you later, but something came up. You know,
        sort of an emergency.

[Hands stuffed in pockets, Tommy is deceptively casual.]

Tommy : Is that right?
Jason : Yeah. How about a rain check?
Tommy : Sure. [pause] I understand.
Jason : [smiling] Cool. I'll catch you later.

[Jason turns to go. Tommy's eyes gleam, and he thrusts out his right
 palm, Power Coin cupped within. An emerald beam slams into Jason's
 back; he arches his spine, as if from a physical blow, and cries out
 as his body ignites with yellow/green fire. A burst of white energy
 whisks him away.]

[Back on the stairs, a gloating Tommy withdraws his arm.]

Tommy : One down ... four to go.

[Cross now to a dark, roughly circular chamber. Its circumference
 is a series of dark archways, through which dots of light(possibly
 stars) can be seen. Each archway is blocked by a monstrous head, all
 with spokes around them, giving a vague sun-like impression. The roof
 is open, and the floor is covered in white mist.]

[The white burst dumps Jason into this chamber, momentum causing him
 to stumble forward. His right hand clutches his back, touching the
 unmarked spot struck by the green blast, and possibly for easy access
 to his Morpher as well.]

[Shocked, he turns his head from side to side, treating the viewer to
 two sweeping shots of the spoked heads. With a burst of sinister
 music, the camera zooms in on one of them.]

[Jason hurries over to one of the archways for a closer look. After
 a brief examination, he grasps one of the spokes. The spoke gives
 him an electric shock; he howls and crashes onto his back.]

[Cross back to Kimberly and Zack at Billy's garage.]

Kimberly : [uneasily] Where's Jason? He said he'd meet us here.
    Zack : I don't know. It's not like him to be late.

[Back in the mysterious chamber, Jason rises to a crouching position,
 shaking his smarting hand.]

Jason : [to communicator, urgently] Command Center, it's Jason! Do you
        read me?

[The communicator makes its offline beep.]

Jason : [to communicator] Alpha, anybody, come in!

[Again, the beep. Jason jabs the communicator.]

Jason : [to communicator] Anybody!

[He looks around, fear starting to make inroads on his face.]

Goldar : [approaching from behind] Your communicator won't work in
         here!

[Goldar laughs as Jason stands to face him.]

Goldar : You must face me all alone!

[Jason reaches - and then scrabbles - behind his back, but to no
 avail. Goldar laughs mockingly, producing the missing Morpher.]

Goldar : Looking for -this-? [laughs again]

[Shock registers on Jason's face; Goldar cackles with glee. Fade out
 and fade back in, a short time later. Jason has marshalled some of
 his normal composure and is sending another urgent message.]

Jason : [to communicator] Command Center, come in. It's Jason. I have
        an emergency situation!

[Beep.]

Goldar : I told you it wouldn't work. But your Power Morpher might!

[He holds out the Morpher and laughs.]

Goldar : If you can get it!

[Jason lunges for the Morpher. Goldar moves it out of reach and fells
 him with a ferocious swipe. The gold warrior laughs again as Jason
 hoists himself up on his hands and turns back toward him.]

Goldar : [mockingly] Surely you can do better than that! Haha!

[Cross back to Zack and Kimberly at Billy's garage.]

Kimberly : I'm worried about Jason; he should be here by now.
    Zack : [finally] We can't afford to wait on him.
Kimberly : I just don't feel right leaving him.
    Zack : Don't worry. [rubs her shoulder supportively] Jason can
           take care of himself.

[Kimberly smiles, slightly comforted.]

    Zack : Come on, we'd better get to the Command Center.
           Alpha needs us.
Kimberly : [gets up] Okay.

[Kimberly opens the RADBUG's passenger door.]

Kimberly : [climbing in] I hope you know what you're doing.
    Zack : [entering driver's seat] Me, too. Buckle up!

[The RADBUG drives off and fades into thin air. Shortly afterwards,
 it is depicted in the sky - Kimberly and Zack are viewed through
 the windscreen. The vehicle swerves gently to the right, and Zack
 steadies its course.]

    Zack : [cheerfully] Man, this is the -only- way to fly. [chuckles]
Kimberly : [not in the mood] Yeah, right.
    Zack : Aw, come on, girl, cheer up. Billy and Alpha will find a
           way to get Zordon back.
Kimberly : It's not just that. It's ... it's Tommy.
    Zack : [sagely] Oh. [pause] He gave you the cold shoulder, huh?
Kimberly : It's like he totally -changed-.
    Zack : Yeah, well, we got bigger problems to worry about now.

[Unaware of the irony of that statement, he scans the sky ahead.]

Zack : Hold on, I'm setting down.

[He turns the RADBUG to the right, flies into the Command Center's
 tube, and pulls up inside. Trini, Billy, and Alpha look over from
 a control panel; Billy is hooking up wires, assisted by Alpha.]

[Kimberly and Zack disembark.]

 Zack : Any progress reaching Zordon?
Trini : Billy's almost got the main computer back up.
Billy : Just a couple more wires to connect and we should be getting
        -something-.

[Trini nods. Billy closes up the console.]

Alpha : [tense] Ooh! Cross your fingers, Rangers. [pushes buttons]

[Electronic sounds are heard as the computer reboots. A mechanical
 whirring begins, and the Command Center lights alternately brighten
 and dim.]

   Billy : [looking around] -Something's- happening.
Kimberly : [pointing] The Globe.

[The Viewing Globe shows the Green Ranger practising with the Sword
 of Darkness. His location is unable to be identified.]

Zack : Oh, man, look. It's that Green guy. [turns to others] Now's our
       chance to nail him and get to the bottom of what's going on.

[Alpha pushes a button on one of the control panels; the Command
 Center lights stabilise.]

Alpha : Subgenerator is now active! We have partial power.

[Kimberly turns to Trini, who beams. Zack's face expresses cautious
 hope.]

   Alpha : I'm checking the Morphing Log now. The computer has locked
           onto his energy field!
    Zack : All right! Let's morph and get this Green dude.
Kimberly : But we -need- Jason.
    Zack : [to communicator] Jason. Jason, come in. Do you read me,
           Jason?

[The beep comes again.]

 Zack : Man, these things still aren't working.
Trini : Where can he be?

[The three of them turn back to the Viewing Globe.]

[Back in the dark chamber, Jason and Goldar are circling each other.]

 Jason : [forcefully] I want my Power Morpher -now-.
Goldar : Now you're demanding. -Soon-, you will be begging.
         [holds out Morpher] If you were worthy, you would take it!

[Rankled, Jason kicks and swings at Goldar, then brings his right fist
 up to either block or strike. Goldar seizes the human fist in his
 larger one and starts to crush it; face contorted with pain, Jason
 sinks towards the ground.]

[Cackling maliciously, Goldar flips Jason onto his back. Jason's feet
 slam against one of the archways that ring the chamber. Goldar laughs
 again.]

Jason : [now with his back to the archway] Don't count me out -yet-,
        Goldar!

[He reaches back for a hand-hold, curls his legs over his head, and
 propels himself onto his feet. Roaring, he jump-kicks Goldar - the
 blow lands with a loud thump, knocking the gold warrior across the
 chamber. Goldar laughs harshly, unfazed by the blow. Tense, Jason
 goes into battle stance; an amused Goldar follows suit.]

[Jason kicks at Goldar, who easily ducks. Taking the offensive, the
 evil lieutenant restrains his opponent's arm and punches him in the
 stomach. He hoists Jason into the air, grabbing him by the neck and
 chest, and hauls him against one of the metallic dividers between
 the archways, growling all the while. Jason struggles to free himself
 from Goldar's hand, tightly locked around his throat.]

Goldar : [fiercely] Understand one thing, you pathetic little human.

[Jason's feet dangle above the ground, a testament to Goldar's
 incredible strength.]

Goldar : I can finish you off any time I choose!
         [laughs in Jason's face]

[Suddenly releasing the Morphin leader, Goldar turns away. Jason is
 badly shaken as he sinks to the ground ... ]

Goldar : But Rita has given you to me as a reward for my faithful
         service to her!

[ ..and slumps onto his back. Goldar laughs yet again.]

Goldar : Like tossing some meat to a hungry lion! [laughs]

[Clutching his side, Jason slowly backs up, the mist starting to
 swirl around him.]

[Cross back to the others in the Command Center.]

 Zack : Now, remember, Alpha - try to contact Jason and have him meet
        us at the bluff.
Alpha : You got it, Rangers.
 Zack : [solemnly] All right, then. It's Morphin' Time.

[They reach for their Morphers, and the Morphing Sequence begins.]

    Zack : Mastodon! [morphs into the Black Ranger]
Kimberly : Pterodactyl! [morphs into the Pink Ranger]
   Billy : Triceratops! [morphs into the Blue Ranger]
   Trini : Sabre-toothed Tiger! [morphs into the Yellow Ranger]

[The four Rangers descend through the air in this order: Yellow and
 Black, Blue and Pink. With a flash of green lightning, the Green
 Ranger arrives at the bluff, wielding the Sword of Darkness. He
 springs at the other Rangers, who are armed with Blade Blasters,
 and melee begins.]

[The Green Ranger lands between the Pink and Yellow Rangers, the
 former of whom dodges away. The Yellow Ranger parries an attack with
 her Blade Blaster and runs around behind the Green Ranger. The Green
 Ranger parries blades with the Black Ranger, who retaliates with a
 spin-kick. The Green Ranger ducks it, simultaneously sweeping low
 with his sword(also missing), and then takes down his opponent with
 another strike. Behind him, the Pink and Yellow Rangers swap places.]

[Turning to the left, the Green Ranger uses his sword to block a kick
 from the Blue Ranger and slashes him across the chest. The Blue
 Ranger falls and rolls - two down, two to go.]

[The Green Ranger's sword clashes against two Blade Blasters held by
 the Pink and Yellow Rangers, then cuts across their chests. He leaps
 off the ground, flattening both girls with a double-footed kick.]

[In the background, the Blue and Black Rangers have recovered. The
 Green Ranger whirls to face them. He spin-kicks at the Blue Ranger,
 parries a blow, and slashes him back down again.]

[The Black Ranger strikes overhead at the Green Ranger with his Blade
 Blaster. The Green Ranger quickly blocks, holding out his sword
 horizontally, and then pulls it away, flipping the Black Ranger
 down. Instantly on his feet again, the Black Ranger is unable to
 avoid an upward slash; he rolls back along the bluff and quickly
 goes into crouched stance. The others rush to his aid.]

Yellow Ranger : Zack!
  Blue Ranger : Zack!

[The Green Ranger's sword glows brightly, charged by white lightning.]

Green Ranger : Feel the power from the Sword of Darkness!

[He stabs it into the ground, sending a charge towards the other
 Rangers, who cry out and collapse.]

[Switch to an exterior shot of Rita's Palace, where evil laughter can
 be heard. Cross to Rita on the Balcony. Baboo, standing nearby, nods
 his head.]

  Rita : Things are going even better than expected.
Squatt : So, your Nastiness, what's the next step in your evil plan?
 Baboo : Yeah, -what-?
  Rita : [laughs] A Green surprise for the Power geeks!
Squatt : -Really-?
  Rita : [smiling] Mmm. Yeh-heh-heh-hes!
Squatt : WOW! That's great!
 Baboo : [simultaneously] Oh! How delightfully insidious!

[Cross over to the Green Ranger running down the slope of a quarry,
 brandishing the Sword of Darkness.]

Green Ranger : All right, Power Rangers. Now I'm gonna -finish- you!
               [clenches fist] 
Black Ranger : [raises arm desperately] Mastodon!

[The Mastodon emerges from its icy wastelands and sets off to answer
 the call.]

Blue Ranger : [raises arm] Triceratops!

[The Triceratops rumbles through the desert.]

Yellow Ranger : Sabre-toothed Tiger!

[The Sabre-toothed Tiger roars and leaps out of the forest and bounds
 across the plain. The Pterodactyl erupts from its volcano and takes
 to the sky.]

[Two pairs of Rangers leap into the air, first Blue and Black, then
 Yellow and Pink.]

 Black Ranger : [in Mastodon] Zack here! We can do this, guys.
  Blue Ranger : [in Triceratops] Billy! All systems go!
Yellow Ranger : [in Sabre-toothed Tiger] Ready for action!
  Pink Ranger : [in Pterodactyl] All right, let's keep it together!

[The Zords join together in Tank Mode, forming flawlessly despite the
 Red Ranger's absence. Megazord transformation sequence begins.]

Voice : Megazord Sequence has been initiated.

[The Megazord completes Battle Mode formation.]

Voice : Megazord activated!

[The Green Ranger gets up and goes into a crouch stance, apparently
 having been knocked to the ground at some point.]

Green Ranger : Huh?

[The Megazord stares down at the lone Ranger, bunching its left fist
 in a threatening manner. The Green Ranger sweeps his own fist to the
 left and readies his sword. Emerald energy suffuses the twisted
 blade, and bolts of purple lightning strike as he hurls a blast
 at the Megazord.]

[The Megazord absorbs the beam with its shield and reflects it to the
 source. A fiery explosion erupts around the Green Ranger; he rolls
 away from the blast and gets up.]

Green Ranger : [angrily] You haven't seen the last of the Green
               Ranger! [vanishes in green/yellow fire]

[The Megazord stands motionless, victorious for now.]

[Cross to an exterior shot of Rita's Palace. Inside, Rita, Baboo, and
 Squatt are standing on the Balcony.]

  Rita : [angrily] I will not accept defeat! [growls]
Squatt : You haven't -lost-, your Evilness. You still have Jason!
  Rita : [turning] Grr, yes.
Squatt : Yeah, Goldar still has him trapped!

[With a broad smile on her face, Rita hitches up her skirt and marches
 away. Baboo and Squatt watch her go.]

Rita : Yes, you're right. GOLDAR! [laughs]

[Back in the dark chamber, Jason is standing with his back to Goldar,
 again trying his communicator.]

Jason : [to communicator] Alpha, Power Rangers, come in. This is
        Jason.

[Beep. Goldar throws back his head and laughs.]

Goldar : Yes, keep calling your friends, because without them, you're
         nothing! But then, you are only human, and no mere human is
         a match for Goldar, who must -now- obey the call of his
         Empress!!

[With a flash of gold light, Goldar's sword appears. Jason backs up
 tensely.]

Goldar : [swinging sword] I may still toy with you before I dispose
         of you ... and then again, I may not. [cackles maliciously]

[Jason turns his head from side to side, adopting uneasy battle
 stance.]

[Cross back to the Command Center. Inside Zordon's tube, a very faint
 image flickers.]

Alpha's voice : The subgenerator has locked onto something!

[Alpha is working one of the control panels, flanked by Kimberly and
 Trini. Zack tears across the room to join them.]

Billy : [also approaching] Is it Zordon?
Alpha : Uncertain. We'll know momentarily.

[Billy walks away from the others.]

  Zack : [pacing] I hope it is. We need him, bad! [darts back] That
         Green guy was a lot stronger this time.
 Billy : [returning] There's more negative news - I haven't been able
         to locate Jason anywhere.
 Trini : [sighs stressfully] Not Jason, too.
  Zack : [angry/upset] Man! If Rita's behind this, she's doing some
         serious damage!

[Billy nods.]

Zordon : [suddenly] Power Rangers!

[The four Rangers hurry across the room. Alpha waves his hands
 excitedly, then returns to work.]

Kimberly : Zordon?!

Zordon : [flickering] I am ... in the Q n- ... sector ...
         [garbled] of ... sys ...
  Zack : [frantically] You almost got him, Alpha!
 Trini : [anxiously] Hold on, Zordon!

[Alpha continues to work the control panel.]

Zordon : You must ... ware of Rita's evil Green Ranger ...
 Alpha : Ai-yi-yi! I've lost him!

[Zack spins around in frustration.]

Trini : [upset] Zordon! We -need- you.

[All of them stand there, helpless once more.]

[Back in the dark chamber, Jason is still preparing to defend
 himself. Goldar holds out the Morpher again.]

Goldar : You know, Jason, if you had this Power Morpher, you could
         get out of here. [cackles and turns Morpher away from Jason]
 Jason : [curtly] What's your -point-?

[Goldar lets the Morpher tumble onto the floor.]

Goldar : [beckoning] Come and get it ... if you're brave enough!

[Jason glances from the Morpher to Goldar, calculating the distance,
 and strikes. He spin-kicks at Goldar, who twists aside and sweeps
 low, trying to cut Jason's legs out from under him. Jason flips
 over the blade and makes a grab for the Morpher. His fingers have
 almost closed upon it ... ]

[ ..when a growling Goldar slams down his sword. Jason instinctively
 pulls back his hand, and the gold warrior kicks him away from the
 Morpher; he lands on his back, clutching his injured stomach.]

 Jason : [infuriated] Man!
Goldar : Hah!

[Goldar closes in, waving his sword back and forth over Jason's
 trapped frame. Horrified, Jason's eyes follow its path, his hands
 raised helplessly.]

Goldar : And now, I think, I'm finally ready to -end- this game.

[He cackles and draws back his sword in order to deal the death blow.
 Shocked, Jason watches, his hands starting to clench into fists ... ]
