[The episode opens with party preparations at the Youth Center. Eager
 volunteers are moving masks of varying sizes around. Trini and Billy
 walk by, carrying bunches of different coloured balloons. They look
 around in delight, obviously pleased with the progress that is being
 made. In the background, Bulk and Skull can be seen idling near a
 small step-ladder. A short time later, Kimberly walks up and climbs
 the ladder. Ernie enters, carrying a small bunch of golden tinsel.]

Ernie : [out of sorts] Come on let's get a move on, kids! We've got a
        lot of work to do to get ready for this costume party!

[Ernie walks past Kimberly and Bulk and Skull. The closer shot of
 Kimberly reveals that she is painting one of the masks.]

Bulk : Work? We're outta here!

[Bulk and Skull head for the door.]

Kimberly : Hey, guys. [sarcastically] -Nice- costumes!

[Skull grins, obviously flattered. Bulk, on the other hand, can
 recognise an unwarranted insult when he hears one. Despite not
 being in costume herself(like every other person present), Kimberly
 continues to stick the knife in.]

Kimberly : Looks like you put a -lot- of thought into it.
           [smiles and winks]

[Skull nods and grins. After a moment of careful thought his face
 falls. Bulk frowns.]

Ernie : [calling] Yo, you two! String these up.

[Ernie tosses the tinsel over to Skull. Bulk pushes Skull aside to
 confront Kimberly.]

Bulk : [bitterly] Thanks a lot.

[Kimberly favours Bulk with a mocking grin and the unfortunate duo set
 off to start work. Elsewhere in the room Angela walks along holding a
 decoration. She passes Zack, who is holding a streamer off the ground
 whilst Jason strings it up.]

Zack : Yo Angela; ah...can I be of some assistance?

[Zack grins and follows Angela, the forgotten streamer unravelling
 behind him.]

Jason : [amused] Yo, Zack! [pulls gently on streamer]

[Tommy approaches Kimberly as she paints.]

   Tommy : Hey. Do you need some help?
Kimberly : Sure! Let me get you a brush.

[Tommy nods. Kimberly climbs down from the ladder and they walk away.
 Meanwhile, it has not taken long for Bulk and Skull to run into
 trouble. Bulk is holding onto the tinsel whilst Skull attempts to
 staple it against the door frame. He is not having much success with
 his stapler.]

Skull : Uh! Uh! [bashes stapler against head] Stupid stapler!
        [bashes again] Uh! Uh!

[Bulk is trying to free the remainder of the tinsel which has
 obviously caught on something.]

Bulk : What's wrong with this thing?

[Bulk yanks on the tinsel and pulls it free of a chair leg. This chair
 knocks against two others. The third chair bumps into a mop or broom
 and its handle strikes the ladder shelf holding Kimberly's pink paint
 bucket. The bucket goes flying; Bulk and Skull watch, startled. Jason
 turns around just in time to see the bucket land on Bulk's head,
 splashing him with white paint. Skull laughs uproariously. Billy,
 Trini, Tommy, and Kimberly join in.]

[Bulk struggles to remove the bucket, much to Skull's continuing
 amusement. He finally gets it off and wipes the paint away from his
 eyes. This hand clenches itself into a fist.]

Skull : [thoroughly entertained] Hey Bulk...you look like a ghost!
Trini : [chiming in] Now -there's- a scary thought!

[Tommy, Billy, Trini and Kimberly chuckle at this observation. Bulk
 stares at his bunched fist, muttering angrily, and Skull quickly
 decides that the time for humourous observations has passed. He
 returns to the task at hand, stealing nervous glances at the fuming
 Bulk as he goes.]

[Cross up to an exterior shot of Rita's Palace and then pan from the
 bottom to the top.]

Finster's voice : [excited] The Super Putty is -ready-!
   Rita's voice : We'll keep the Power Rangers busy by sending a
                  monster to-

[Cross over to Rita, Goldar, Baboo and Squatt on the Balcony.]

  Rita : -their costume party!
Squatt : Mmm!!
  Rita : Isn't that a -nice- idea?
Goldar : -Yes-, Empress!

[Rita chuckles and looks through her telescope.]

Squatt : Terrific, a party crasher!

[Rita enters Finster's workshop. Finster closes the book that he is
 reading and stands up.]

   Rita : A real -nasty- one!
Finster : Of -course-, Empress. I'll make the very -nastiest-!

[Finster activates the Monstermatic. It goes to work and belches out a
 cloud of smoke. Baboo and Squatt watch curiously; Baboo shoves Squatt
 aside so that he can have a better view.]

Baboo : Ooh! Who's this?

[A figure steps jerkily out of the smoke and into the light; Finster
 has somehow managed to create his own version of Frankenstein's
 monster(known as Frankenstein for convenience here). The grey-skinned
 monster wears a white shirt and black jacket. There is a blue strip
 above his eyes, like a headband.]

Rita's voice : I want you to destroy the Power Rangers! Can you do it?
Frankenstein : I can!
        Rita : Good! [makes clawing motion] Then -get- them!!

[Frankenstein glows brightly and teleports down to Earth in a burst of
 red energy. He reappears in Angel Grove Park and lurches away to
 begin his search for the Power Rangers.]

[Cross over to Billy's garage where the five Rangers have gathered,
 now in their party costumes. Kimberly wears a pink damsel gown. Billy
 is clothed in Sherlock Holmes garb(complete with pipe) and is not
 wearing his glasses. Trin is dressed as a squaw. Zack is going as a
 Pharaoh, and Jason has chosen a Robin Hood costume.]

Kimberly : [excited] -This- is going to be a Morphinomenal party!
    Zack : [grins and nods] Yo, Billy-boy! You look just like that
           Sherlock Holmes dude!
   Billy : [nods] Thank you, King Tut.
   Trini : [laughs] Y'know, I wonder who will win first prize!
    Zack : [boasting] Hey, who -else-? [indicates himself and laughs]
Kimberly : Oh hey, where's Tommy?
   Jason : Oh, his costume isn't finished yet. He said he'd catch up
           with us later.
    Zack : Hey; come on, let's go to the party!
Kimberly : Yes!

[The five of them set off for the party. Cross over to either Bulk or
 Skull's bedroom. Skull is rummaging through a chest of costumes.]

Bulk : [vibrating] Listen, ding-dong! I need an ex-cellent..costume to
       win that contest!

[A more distant shot reveals the cause of this mysterious vibration.
 Bulk has a motorised belt wrapped around his waist for the purpose of
 either massage or weight loss.]

 Bulk : And you're gonna find me one!
Skull : You got it, Bulky boy! [continues searching]

[A short time later, Skull's first idea is revealed. He has chosen a
 Peter Pan costume for Bulk and a Captain Hook one for himself. Bulk
 looks himself over in the mirror and immediately shakes his head.
 However, Skull seems very enthusiastic about his swashbuckling role.]

Skull : [pirate voice] Ha-haha! I'll be Captain Hook, and you can be
        Peter Pan!
 Bulk : Skull, there is no way I am going anywhere in little..green..
        -tights-! [throws down hat in disgust]
Skull : [disappointed] Ahh!

[Idea #2 is a brown costume horse with Skull as the front section.
 Bulk quickly separates himself.]

Bulk : No. No! [grabs Skull] No way. There is -no way-..that I'm gonna
       be the back end!

[Skull shrugs and moves onto Plan C - Elvis costumes.]

Skull : I'll be young Elvis, and you'll be...-old-...Elvis.
 Bulk : [Elvis voice] Ah-haw!

[Bulk and Skull go into their best Elvis imitator roles. Everything is
 going swimmingly until Bulk's back locks up with an audible crunch.
 Skull staggers off to one side.]

Bulk : [Elvis voice] Oh no. Uh-oh. [resignedly] Mah back. [collapses]

[The snarling Frankenstein peers in through the window, searching for
 the Rangers. He shakes his head upon realising they are not inside
 and continues on his way.]

[Switch to an aerial shot of the Youth Center(still daylight) and then
 cross inside where the costume party is in full swing. Several shots
 of dancing partygoers follow, and then it's over to Jason, Zack and
 Angela near a snack table. Angela wears a belly dancer costume.]

Zack : [grinning and moving to the beat] Yo, Angela...want to dance?

[Jason reaches for some food and pauses with it halfway to his mouth.
 He smiles as he waits to hear her answer.]

Angela : [unimpressed] Go back to your -tomb-..Tut! [walks off]

[Jason's face cringes slightly in empathy. He moves up to his agitated
 friend and pats him on the back. He's soon smiling again, apparently
 seeing a funny side to which Zack is oblivious.]

Zack : [frustrated] Man, not even a -king- is good enough for that
       girl!

[The amused Jason offers his hand. Zack grips it, still staring in
 Angela's direction. Just at this moment a sniggering laugh and merry
 chuckle signal the arrival of Bulk and Skull. They have neatly solved
 their costume dilemma by coming as punks.]

Skull : [well pleased] Great idea to come to the party dressed as
        punks, Bulk!
 Bulk : Oh yeah!

[Skull taps Bulk's fist. Bulk slams Skull's fist in return. Skull
 shakes his hand in agony and follows Bulk as he moves to join the
 party.]

[Kimberly and Trini are standing with their backs to Ernie. They are
 each holding a drink. Ernie is behind the counter, dressed as a
 vampire and wearing white face paint.]

Ernie : [vampire voice] I want to suck your blood!

[Kimberly quickly turns, startled by the sudden voice. Trini
 chuckles.]

Kimberly : [chirpy] I'll take a pass, Ernie!
   Ernie : [deadpan] How'd you know it was me?

[Kimberly and Trini smile and shrug. Ernie appears to give a slight
 smile of his own - it is impossible to tell if he was joking or not.
 He shakes his head as Kimberly and Trini turn away.]

[A surprising visitor now walks into the room, in the form of Alpha 5.
 Billy spots him and does a double take. Trini points out the new
 arrival to Kimberly. Both girls appear startled and confused. Luckily
 Billy is around to take the situation in hand.]

Billy : [low, tense] Alpha; what are you -doing- here?
Alpha : Well I wanted to party with you guys, and I figured -this-
        would be the perfect opportunity!
Billy : [thoughtfully] Well, you do have a splendid costume...
        [sucks pipe]
Alpha : [checks body] [baffled] What costume? [walks off]

[Billy throws out his hands in mild exasperation and follows closely,
 just missing the arrival of Frankenstein. The monster lurches into
 the room, pauses a moment to get his bearings, and then sets off in
 a chosen direction. Ernie watches him in admiration, now holding a
 tray of drinks and popcorn. He removes a set of fangs.]

Ernie : [impressed] Now -that-...is a costume!

[Ernie notices an off-screen request and takes his tray over.]

[Cross to an outside location and focus over on the mouth of a cave
 marked by a white angel statue. Finster's voice can be heard from
 within. As he speaks the scene shifts inside the cave, going first
 to a dark tunnel lit by flaming torches and then to a group of mining
 Putties. They load their excavations into a machine which gives off
 clouds of reddish smoke.]

Finster's voice : [excited] Super Putty. How delightful! Now I'll be
                  able to to construct an -army- of Putty Patrollers
                  that will be indestructable! Oh, the Empress will be
                  -very- pleased.

[Finster walks past Squatt and Baboo as he issues his orders to the
 Putties.]

Finster : [briskly] Now, hurry up! We've got to get the Super Putty
          back to the Palace as soon as possible.

[The Super Putty travels out of the machine through a tube(which looks
 a lot like the one on the Monstermatic) and drops into a vat. The new
 substance looks like fairly ordinary reddish clay. Putty Patrollers
 grab clumps of it and attach them to some kind of large curved object
 made out of the same material. It is only glimpsed for a moment and
 hard to identify at this point.]

[Back at the party, Alpha is receiving the adoring attentions of three
 teenage girls.]

Girl #1 : You're so -cuuute-!
Girl #2 : I just -love- the way you talk!
Girl #3 : Wow, what a -great- costume!
  Alpha : [a bit flustered] Oh; yeah! Pretty cool, huh?

[Zack and Jason have been watching this.]

 Zack : Man, it's just not fair! I mean...Alpha comes to the party and
        the girls are all -over- him.
Jason : [taps Zack's arm] [points across room] Who's that?

[Billy approaches at just this moment and the three of them get their
 first proper glimpse of Frankenstein. The monster growls and moves
 away.]

 Zack : [impressed in spite of himself] Hoo I don't know, but...he's
        gonna ace the grand prize for -sure-.
Billy : I'll have to search for more clues, but could that..
        [puts on glasses] Frankenstein be...Tommy?

[Jason blinks in surprise. Zack stares intently towards Frankenstein,
 utterly baffled as to his identity. Billy moves off to investigate
 the mystery. Elsewhere, two guys approach Kimberly and Trini. Ernie
 dances by himself behind the counter.]

  Guy #1 : Want to dance?
Kimberly : Sure!

[The four of them move out onto the dance floor. A split second
 later, Frankenstein grabs at the space just vacated by the two
 female Rangers. Ernie dances on, apparently oblivious.]

[There is a quick shot of Bulk and Skull. Bulk pulls a face; Skull
 grins. Frankenstein moves up to Jason and Zack and is just about to
 lunge at them when a girl seizes his arm. She is dressed in what I
 assume is a Bride of Frankenstein costume.]

Girl : [eagerly] Come on, Frankie. They're playing our song!

[The girl hauls him onto the dance floor. Zack and Jason laugh.]

Girl : [to Frankenstein, happily] C'mon!

[Frankenstein pulls free of the girl's grip. She exclaims happily and
 throws something over her shoulder(I can't make out what it is).]

Girl : [happily] Whoa! Hey!

[Frankenstein swings at the girl's head twice. She seems to take it as
 all part of the act. Frankenstein begins to walk away, not wanting to
 waste any more time here. The girl hauls him right back again.]

[The girl laughs. Frankenstein makes a double handed grab at her. She
 deftly steps back, takes his hands and starts to swing back and
 forth as if dancing.]

Girl : [amused] Oh! Okay!! [giggle]

[The crunch comes(literally) when she steps on his foot.]

Frankenstein : ARRR!!! [growling] Come here!!!

[Frankenstein twirls the excited girl twice(Girl : Whoo!) and then
 suddenly hefts her up into the air. She barely has time to scream
 before he throws her across the room. Fortunately Bulk is there to
 catch her. Billy, Trini and Zack are visibly disturbed by this turn
 of events.]

Bulk : [to Skull] GET HIM!

[Skull brandishes a toy crossbow armed with three suction cup darts.
 He fires the middle one and hits Frankenstein in the middle of his
 forehead. Frankenstein growls and removes the dart. Skull laughs
 gleefully, obviously thrilled by his prowess as a marksman. However
 his grin quickly fades as the angry monster advances upon him.]

Bulk : [nervously] Ah! Gimme that!

[Bulk snatches the crossbow from Skull's hand and fumbles around
 with it. The girl screams again and twists herself away from Bulk.
 Frankenstein hauls Skull off the ground(Skull : Uhh!). ]

Skull : [to Frankenstein] It's just a joke, man! Get over it!

[Skull's feet kick helplessly back and forth against Frankenstein's
 shins. The monster shoves him back against Bulk.]

Skull : Some people just can't take a joke!

[Frankenstein makes a powerful grab for Bulk and Skull. They dodge
 and make a panicked dash for the exit. This captures Jason and Zack's
 full and uneasy attention. Bulk and Skull escape out the door, chased
 by the ponderous Frankenstein. Billy suffers from a brief moment of
 agonised indecision and then follows.]

[Bulk and Skull run down the path outside the Youth Center(a colourful
 sign announces "Costume Party Today"). They turn around and scream at
 the sight of their monstrous pursuer. They split up and flee in
 opposite directions(Skull goes right; Bulk goes left). Frankenstein
 pauses, looks to both sides, and then continues straight ahead along
 the path. Billy turns back towards the safety of the Youth Center and
 then follows Frankenstein into the unknown.]

[A short time later, Frankenstein is moving through a grassy area.
 Billy watches, ducking out of sight when the monster turns towards
 him. Frankenstein dismisses it with a shake of the head and goes on
 his not so merry way.]

[Shortly afterwards the two of them arrive at the Super Putty cave. It
 looks considerably larger than before and the white angel statue is
 mysteriously absent, possibly indicating that this is an alternative
 entrance. Frankenstein goes inside; Billy hesitates a moment longer
 and enters too.]

[Cross back to a shot of Super Putty falling into the vat. The mining
 Putty Patrollers load more of it into the machine.]

Baboo's voice : [fearfully] Hurry up, you slowpokes! Her Evilness will
                be here any second!!!

[A circular cave wall section slides open, admitting Rita.]

        Rita : Where's my Super Putty??
       Baboo : You see? Now she's angry!
Frankenstein : [who has evidently rejoined them] Yeah!
        Rita : [irritably] Urrhh! You know what to do!

[Finster walks near the large Super Putty construction. From this
 vantage point, it can now be seen that they are creating a boulder
 out of the powerful clay.]

Finster : Yes, your Highness. We're almost done!

[Further clumps of Super Putty are grabbed out of the vat.]

Rita : Good. Now those Power Rangers are done for! And -soon- it'll be
       toodle-oo!

[Cross back to Billy as he ventures into the misty tunnels. He walks
 straight through a laser sensor alarm without noticing. The alarm
 sounds further down in the mine.]

Rita : [to Frankenstein] Heyy!! You can take care of one of the brats
       right now!

[Frankenstein snarls and sets off to do so.]

[Billy continues to explore just as Frankenstein comes up from within.
 They almost bump into each other and Billy cries out in shock. The
 monster grabs at Billy and he dodges.]

Billy : [nervously] My deductive reasoning tells me you're not Tommy!

[Billy ducks another swing but is caught by the back of his coat and
 spun around in a circle. He sounds both angry and slightly humiliated
 by this treatment.]

Billy : [defiantly] It's time for Molecular Transmutation!

[The Morphing Sequence begins.]

Billy : Triceratops! [morphs into the Blue Ranger]

[The Blue Ranger goes into battle stance. Frankenstein growls and
 removes the bolts from his neck. Once out of his head, the bolts
 are connected together by a length of chain. He grips the weapon
 tightly and goes into a battle stance of his own.]

[The Blue Ranger swings his Blade Blaster down. Frankenstein catches
 the blow on the chain section of his weapon. He sweeps it aside and
 the Blue Ranger falls, carried by his own momentum. He gets up for
 a moment but is quickly struck down by the bolt weapon. Determined
 not to give quarter, he rises again. Frankenstein hurls both of the
 bolts at the Blue Ranger's chest; they thud into their target with
 considerable force and send him groaning to the misty ground.]

[Cross back down to Rita and the others at the mine site.]

  Rita : This is so exciting! I'll cause the worst catastrophe the
         world's ever seen...'cos now no-one'll be able to stop me
         from doing it!
Squatt : [applauds] Yeah!
  Rita : So let's get the ball rolling now!

[A group of Putties start to push the huge Super Putty boulder. It may
 be a trick of the light but it looks like Frankenstein is lending a
 hand too, despite being occupied elsewhere.]

[A chasm opens up in the city and buildings topple inside. Citizens
 flee in terror. Rita rides the Super Putty boulder out of the crack
 and into the sky.]

Rita : [laughs] Running won't do you any good, there's no place to
       hide! I won't destroy you right now but I'll be back! You
       Earthlings haven't seen anything yet, but you will -real- soon!
       [hateful chuckle] Have a -nice- day!

[Back in the cave, the Blue Ranger flips away out of Frankenstein's
 hands. Just at this moment the cave shakes and rocks start to rain
 down.]

Blue Ranger : Hey! What's going on?? It must be Rita. I've gotta warn
              the others! [runs away]

[Cross back up to Rita on her boulder.]

Rita : [gleefully] I love to get -nasty-; it's so -nice-! [laughs]

[Cross back to the party at the Youth Center. The ongoing earthquake
 alarms several people; they run outside. Billy returns just now, his
 reappearance going unnoticed in the general panic.]

Ernie : [trying to restore order] Just settle down everybody! It's
        just a small earthquake, it's just a tremor; relax!

[Billy rejoins his four friends, all of whom are now standing
 together. The earthquake stops just as he arrives.]

   Billy : [worried] We've got a major crisis situation!
Kimberly : [nonplussed] No kidding, we just had an earthquake.
   Billy : No, it's Rita; that Frankenstein is one of her goons!
Kimberly : [shocked] -What-?

[Billy nods.]

Jason : [decisively] Well maybe Zordon can explain some of this. We'll
        have to find Tommy and teleport to the Command Center.
Trini : [quickly] Right!
 Zack : Well, Tommy hasn't shown up yet!

[Jason, Billy, and Trini take one last look around the room but Tommy
 is apparently nowhere in sight.]

Jason : [quickly] We'll have to go without him.
Trini : Come on, let's go.

[The five of them head for the exit. Cross to an exterior shot of the
 Command Center. The five coloured streaks of light fly into its main
 tube, carrying the Rangers inside. Note - there is no sign of Alpha
 at this point.]

 Jason : Zordon, what's going on?
Zordon : Power Rangers! Rita plans to use her Frankenstein monster to
         destroy you, then conquer the Earth with the army of Super
         Putties she created.

[As Zordon speaks, Jason turns a worried look towards Alpha who is now
 present again. Perhaps the implication is that Alpha teleported back
 with the Rangers.]

 Trini : [tense] Super Putties?
Zordon : Yes. A new form of Putty Patroller that's nearly
         indestructable!

[Alpha's head whirls around in a panicked reaction to this news.]

    Zack : Indestructable? [softly] -Man-!
Kimberly : You guys, let's try and contact Tommy.
   Jason : [to communicator] Tommy! Come in!
   Alpha : [working control panel] He's not online. I'll try to locate
           his signal.

[Back at the Youth Center, Tommy finally puts in an appearance. He
 walks up to the door dressed in normal clothes and carrying his
 green bag. Something suddenly puts him on his guard.]

Tommy : [turning] Huh?

[A patrol of four Putties land around him, two on either side.]

Tommy : Man! I don't need these party-crashers!

[Tommy has now taken the bag off his shoulder and is holding it with
 both hands. Putty #1 throws a punch at him and he uses the bag to
 block. The two of them trade low kicks and the Putty collapses onto
 the path.]

[Putty #2 leaps over its comrade's body. Tommy bashes the bag up into
 its face, then whirls it around and smacks it into the Putty's side.
 Putty #2 stumbles away.]

[Putty #1 is no longer lying on the path and so it is not possible to
 continue labelling them accurately. For argument's sake I'll call the
 next one Putty #3 since his angle of approach and vitality indicate a
 more fresh opponent. In theory, this could be a revived Putty #1.]

[Putty #3 rushes over to Tommy and tries to pull the bag away, perhaps
 recognising it for the deadly weapon that it is! Tommy holds onto the
 strap of the bag with his right hand and throws a punch with his
 left. The Putty dodges his attack and succeeds in yanking the bag
 away. Tommy stumbles for a moment.]

[This is where something odd happens. Another of the Putties closes
 in ready to punch, but there is something of a chop. Bad editing or
 actual censorship? This is a British version, so I'd be inclined to
 go with the former. As usual, the American version will hold the
 answer.]

[Tommy doubles over and says something that sounds suspiciously like
 "Damn!". Another Putty kicks Tommy in his weakened state, dropping
 him to the pavement.]

[Back in the Command Center, Zordon has come to a decision.]

Zordon : There's not a moment to spare. Rita's monster is on the loose
         and it's up to you to stop him. Good luck, Rangers, and let
         the Power protect you!
 Jason : It's Morphin' Time.

[The Morphing Sequence begins.]

    Zack : Mastodon! [morphs into the Black Ranger]
Kimberly : Pterodactyl! [morphs into the Pink Ranger]
   Billy : Triceratops! [morphs into the Blue Ranger]
   Trini : Sabre-toothed Tiger! [morphs into the Yellow Ranger]
   Jason : Tyrannosaurus! [morphs into the Red Ranger]

[The five Power Rangers appear on a roof in the city. They stand in
 battle poses, wielding their Power Weapons.]

Rangers : Power Rangers!

[Frankenstein leaps in, still wielding his bolt weapon. He swings it
 at the Red and Blue Rangers. The blows are taken on their weapons,
 but the impact is enough to push them out of the way.]

[The Yellow and Blue Rangers somersault past each other in front of
 the leaping Pink Ranger. She looses an arrow at Frankenstein whilst
 in mid-air, but he easily bats it away with his weapon.]

[Frankenstein blocks the Blue Ranger and then the Yellow Ranger.
 Unfazed by these multiple attacks, he whacks his bolt weapon into
 the Yellow Ranger and takes her down. Without missing a beat,
 Frankenstein uses his weapon to block the Pink Ranger's Power Bow
 and then knocks her away with a swift kick to the upper body.]

[The Blue Ranger swings wildly at Frankenstein, who easily avoids
 the flailing attack. The Blue Ranger closes in and locks his
 weapons against Frankenstein's neck. Frankenstein pushes him
 back, breaks free, and knocks him away. The Blue Ranger rolls
 across the roof. The Red and Black Rangers quickly move in to
 help him.]

[The Red and Black Rangers spring through the air towards their foe.
 Frankenstein leaps towards them and uses his bolt weapon to first
 deflect their weapons and then to strike their unprotected chests.
 Both of them plummet to the rooftop behind Frankenstein whilst their
 fellow Rangers hurry to defend them. Frankenstein turns to face them
 just as the Red and Black Rangers struggle to get up.]

[Frankenstein snarls and advances, swinging his weapon menacingly.]

Rita : [from boulder] You don't stand a -chance-, 'cos now he's going
       to GROW!!!

[Rita throws her Wand. It works its magic upon Frankenstein, enlarging
 him tremendously. One of the bolts on his weapon has now changed to a
 large spiked ball. Frankenstein now towers over the Rangers.]

Red Ranger : [calling] We need Megazord Power; now!

[The five Zords are shown emerging from their respective habitats in
 this order(Tyrannosaurus, Mastodon, Triceratops, Sabre-toothed Tiger,
 Pterodactyl). It should be noted that the Sabre-toothed Tiger runs
 across a greyish plain with mountains in the background instead of
 the usual jungle. The Zords are now shown travelling together.]

Red Ranger : Let's do it! [leaps up]

[The Pink and Yellow Rangers similarly leap, followed by the Blue and
 Black Rangers.]

   Red Ranger : [in Tyrannosaurus] Log on!
 Black Ranger : [in Mastodon] In the groove and on the move!
  Blue Ranger : [in Triceratops] All systems go!
Yellow Ranger : [in Sabre-toothed Tiger] We're looking -good-!
  Pink Ranger : [in Pterodactyl] Frankie, you're -finished-!
   Red Ranger : [in Tyrannosaurus] Power Up!

[The Megazord begins its Battle Mode transformation.]

Voice : Megazord Sequence has been initiated!

[The Megazord completes the sequence.]

Voice : Megazord Activated!

[Frankenstein roars and advances. The Megazord dodges past him as he
 swings his ball and chain. Frankenstein kicks at the Megazord but it
 puts paid to that idea by punching his foot. Frankenstein sweeps his
 ball and chain around again and smashes it into the Megazord's torso,
 sending up a shower of sparks and smoke.]

Rita : [pleased] -Go-, my monster!

[Frankenstein swings his ball and chain twice more. The Megazord
 blocks the first attack with its arm, but the second lands squarely
 on its midsection. The Megazord staggers back a couple of steps and
 goes into a defensive stance.]

Red Ranger : [in cockpit] It's time for some more -firepower-!

[The Red Ranger looks skyward in anticipation and the Megazord catches
 the Power Sword when it falls from above. The battle vehicle advances
 and easily deflects the giant ball. Now attempting to reverse the
 odds, the Megazord lands a powerful overhead strike on Frankenstein's
 chest. The blade merely bounces off, leaving the monster completely
 unharmed. He laughs contemptuously.]

[The Megazord chops down again, pressing against the chain section
 of Frankenstein's weapon. Locked into place, the two of them circle
 until they have reversed their original positions. Frankenstein
 breaks the deadlock with a kick. He swings his ball and chain yet
 again, this time deflecting the Power Sword. A second attack lashes
 the Megazord's upper torso and shakes up the Rangers inside.]

Red Ranger : This dude's gonna be tougher than I -thought-!

[Frankenstein roars and entangles his ball and chain around the
 damaged Megazord's neck. He hauls the helpless battle vehicle from
 side to side, then yanks it up into the air and smashes it into the
 ground. The powerful monster snarls at his fallen opponents.]

[Cross back to Tommy's battle. He is now standing up again. Two
 Putties close in on him. He punches and chops one of them, taking
 it down, and kicks the other twice. He back-kicks another Putty,
 then kicks it again whilst it is stunned. This Putty crumples. He
 flips a third one down and it vanishes.]

[Tommy stands ready to continue the fight. Two Putties vanish. He
 turns his head towards another pair and these disappear as well.
 This is all very odd - four Putties started the fight and now five
 have vanished. Of course it's very possible that a fifth joined in
 at some point between the scene breaks.]

Zordon's voice : [via communicator] Tommy, come in.
         Tommy : [to communicator] I read you, Zordon.
Zordon's voice : [via communicator] Tommy; your fellow Power Rangers
                 are in trouble. You must join them immediately!
         Tommy : [to communicator, quickly] Right. I'm outta here.

[Tommy reaches for his Morpher and the Morphing Sequence begins.]

Tommy : Dragonzord! [morphs into the Green Ranger]

[Cross back to the battle. Frankenstein raises and smashes down the
 immobilised Megazord a second time, freeing his ball and chain in
 the process. The Rangers cry out inside the now slanted cockpit.]

Black Ranger : This guy's tearing us apart! How are we gonna stop him?
  Red Ranger : First we have to get -Megazord- on its -feet-!

[Frankenstein growls and kicks the fallen Megazord over onto its back.
 The Rangers cry out again.]

Red Ranger : Switch to Emergency Power before he gets us -again-!

[Rita laughs from her boulder in the sky.]

Rita : [smugly] -Bad- is soo...-beautiful-!

[Frankenstain crunches his ball and chain against the now upright
 Megazord's chest with extreme force. A second such attack sends the
 Megazord smashing through a building on its way to the ground.
 Frankenstein raises the ball and chain above his head in triumph as
 the Megazord shorts out below. Once more the Rangers cry out inside
 the cockpit.]

Rita : [laughs] The monster's -done- it! Yeah!

[Rita cackles and flies away on the Super Putty boulder, strangely
 not wanting to witness the final defeat of the Power Rangers.
 Frankenstein lifts the smoking Megazord above his head, spins it
 around, and throws it into another building. Yet again the Rangers
 call out. Just as things are at their most bleak, the Green Ranger
 arrives to turn the tide.]

Green Ranger : Dragonzord Power! [plays dagger flute]

[The Dragonzord comes out of the churning waters. Back in the city,
 the Megazord has apparently found some final reserve of strength. It
 stands facing Frankenstein again, who has now replaced the bolts in
 his neck. Just at that moment, the Dragonzord approaches from behind.
 Frankenstein turns towards it, momentarily distratced. The Megazord
 seizes its opportunity and hurries past Frankenstein, who takes a
 swipe as it goes by.]

[The Dragonzord grabs hold of Frankenstein's shoulders but he soon
 breaks free. He fiercely blocks the Dragonzord when it claws at him,
 pushing it aside. Frankenstein blocks a kick from the Megazord and
 retaliates with a powerful punch. He kicks unsuccessfully at the
 Dragonzord and then lands a blow on its body.]

[The Green Ranger plays the "attack" sequence on his dagger flute and
 the Dragonzord attacks Frankenstein with its tail. Frankenstein grabs
 hold of its tail segment closest to the drill tip, his extraordinary
 strength evident as he hoists the Dragonzord off the ground.]

[In an unexpected move, Frankenstein swings the Dragonzord around by
 the tail and smashes it into the Megazord, sending the latter flying.
 He spins the Dragonzord around again and throws it over near the
 grounded Megazord.]

[Frankenstein roars and breathes a cloud of reddish gas at the
 Dragonzord and Megazord(both of which are standing again). The
 five Rangers cough and choke inside the Megazord cockpit.]

Red Ranger : Uh! I can't breathe!!

[Frankenstein pulls out his neck bolts again and readies his initial
 bolt weapon(without the ball). He swings it and lashes the Megazord
 and Dragonzord on their chest sections. Both of them reel back.]

Red Ranger : [in cockpit] Time to regroup. Let's -do- it! We need
             MegaDragonzord Power!

[Quick bursts of lightning flash around the Megazord and it starts to
 split. The Pterodactyl chest section flies away and the head turns
 back into that of the Tyrannosaurus. The Battle Mode Dragonzord forms
 as usual, the Sabre-toothed Tiger and Mastodon having apparently
 having disassembled from the Megazord in an off-screen sequence. The
 completed Zord reaches out for its Staff.]

[Frankenstein leaps forward and hits the Battle Mode Dragonzord
 with his bolt weapon. Note - there is now no sign of the Staff.
 Frankenstein throws a frenzied kick and a punch; the Battle Mode
 Dragonzord blocks the first and dodges the second. It rams its
 shoulder into Frankenstein and blocks one of his punches, but a
 second gets through its guard.]

[Frankenstein swings again and misses. The Battle Mode Dragonzord
 lunges forward. Frankenstein dodges aside, lashing out as it goes
 past. The Battle Mode Dragonzord turns around, ready to take things
 up a notch.]

[Energy pulses into the crest on top of the Battle Mode Dragonzord's
 head. It leans forward and fires this projectile at Frankenstein.
 Frankenstein catches the powered up crest in his chain and reflects
 it back at its source. The impact rocks the Battle Mode Dragonzord
 cockpit where all the Rangers are located, as in "The Spit Flower".]

Red Ranger : All right, let's -finish- it! Power up the Power Staff!

[The Battle Mode Dragonzord readies its Staff(which has now been given
 the official label of Power Staff for the first time). Frankenstein
 charges, arms flailing. The Power Staff charges up and and bores into
 his stomach, leaving a giant hole. Frankenstein roars and staggers
 back, mortally wounded.]

Green Ranger : Yeah! Got him!

[A thinning red pulse of energy shoots through Frankenstein's head
 and a web of golden cracks starts to spread across his body. He is
 engulfed by a pillar of whitish-blue flame just as the cracks cover
 his face and there is a burst of bright yellow light as he explodes.]

[The triumphant Battle Mode Dragonzord stands near the Green Ranger.]

Green Ranger : Now that's what I call one -bad- case of indigestion!

[Cross up to Rita at her telescope.]

Rita : [miserably] Ohhhhhh...I have such a headache I just can't
       -stand- it! [groaning sounds]

[Cross to a shot of the Youth Center logo. Inside, the party is
 starting up again. Kimberly, Zack, Jason, Trini, and Billy return.]

Jason : Well...Rita finally got what was coming to her.
 Zack : [chuckles] And we sure sent that Frankenstein monster back to
        the lab!

[Zack and Jason grip hands. Tommy(in normal clothes) hurries up to his
 friends.]

Kimberly : [pleased] Hey, it looks like we got back just in time to
           see who won the costume contest!

[Trini laughs.]

Trini : [to Tommy] Hey Tommy, where's your costume?
Tommy : [hurriedly] Oh, I-I've got it right here. [indicates bag] I've
        gotta change. Hold on.

[Tommy quickly leaves.]

Billy : By the way, whatever happened to Alpha?

[The five of them look around the room.]

Zack : Well it looks like he's got his "hands full", so to speak.

[They all walk over to join Alpha, who is once more surrounded by his
 female devotees.]

   Alpha : Y-you bet I do! [nervous/flattered chuckle]
Kimberly : [happily] Cool, Alpha; you are a -hit-!
   Alpha : [pleased] They -like- me! (??)
    Bulk : [disgusted] Oh yeah, what's to -like-? Ya tin-can! Who
           -are- you anyway?

[Attention quickly shifts from Alpha onto a disturbingly familiar
 Frankenstein monster. The tense moment draws itself out until the
 monster finally removes his mask, uncovering Tommy's grinning
 features underneath. It is actually a half mask which covers his
 eyes and hair; the rest of his face has been painted grey to match.]

Kimberly : [impressed] Oh gosh!!!

[Jason laughs. Zack and Billy smile.]

Tommy : That Frankenstein gave me some ideas for the final touches on
        my costume! Well? What do you think?

[His friends smile and nod.]

   Billy : Quite..believable, Tommy.
Kimberly : You look -great- in grey!

[Bulk shakes his head in the background, either unimpressed with
 Tommy's costume or worrying about its effect on his own chances of
 winning. Ernie's voice suddenly draw's everyone's attention as he
 steps into the middle of the room holding a blue ribbon.]

   Ernie : Okay, everybody! Time to announce the winner of the costume
           contest.
Kimberly : Ohh!!!
   Ernie : And the blue ribbon goes to...

[Ernie smiles as he turns in the winner's direction. Bulk and Skull
 grin, and Bulk starts to reach for the prize. Unfortunately they are
 destined to be disappointed; Ernie has awarded the ribbon to Alpha,
 who was standing next to them.]

Ernie   : [amused] ...whoever -you- are!

[A few cheers go up.]

   Bulk : [disgusted] You're -kidding-, right?
Girl #3 : [examining Alpha's head] Who's the mystery winner?
   Bulk : Yeah, I'd like to find out -myself-! Skull, give me a
          can-opener!

[Skull produces one from inside his jacket.]

Skull : [dutifully] Yo.

[Kimberly and Trini smile. Trini shakes her head.]

Alpha : This is one mystery that'll have to remain unsolved!

[Alpha salutes, almost prodding Billy in the eye.]

Alpha : Sorry, ladies!

[Alpha hurries away, closely followed by his female entourage. Bulk
 and Skull are not far behind.]

Trini : Bye, Alpha!
