Friends, Family and Acquaintances

MulderFox William Mulder: Scully's partner at the FBI for seven years. A maverick. Nicknamed 'Spooky' by other agents because of his uncanny ability to profile some of the worst criminals at BSU (behavioral science unit). It later became a slur when he went to work on the X-Files. Dana was assigned to debunk his work, but instead became his ally. She always had her own theories about the different cases they worked on, but on the whole it was a very close relationship. All things implied that their pairing had moved on to the next level (ie. they were lovers) and The Truth revealed conclusively that Mulder was the father of Scully's child. Unfortunately, despite the closer ties between the two, Mulder was absent for much of the last two years- first abducted then believed dead, and then on the run.

Baby WilliamWilliam Mulder Scully: Mulder and Scully's baby boy. Probably conceived during all things. Scully found out she was pregnant during Requeim right after Mulder was abducted. Despite 1013's bad handling of the paternity issue, Dana named the child after Mulder's father (not her own- even though they share the same name) lending credence to the fact that the baby was indeed Mulder's. [see Existence] In the heartwrenching William, Scully decided to give the boy up for adoption in the hope of a normal life for her child.

DoggettJohn Doggett: FBI Special Agent, partnered with Scully after Mulder disappeared, then later Monica Reyes. Was originally assigned as the ASAC in charge of the man hunt for Mulder. When Agent Mulder wasn't found quickly, Doggett was placed on temporary duty to the X-Files. After Mulder was found alive in his coffin, John was reassigned to the basement permenently. His knee-jerk skepticism was far worse then Scully's ever was, but he did practice good police work.

ReyesMonica Reyes: FBI Special Agent, assigned to the X-Files when Scully went on maternity leave. Worked on the Luke Doggett kidnapping / murder case (John's son). Helped discover the body of Fox Mulder [see This is Not Happening]. Went undercover with Dana when her life was endangered and helped delivered her baby [Existence]. She had a new agey outlook, but wasn't inclined to jump at the paranormal aspects of a case. She was just more open to it than most agents would have been. In spite of her short tenure, she became a good friend to Scully, and was Dana's second choice of babysitter for William (with Mom in first).

AhabWilliam Scully Sr.: Deceased. Scully's father. 'Ahab' to her 'Starbuck'. Bill Scully used to read Moby Dick to his daughter, hence the nicknames. He was a strict disciplinarian, probably a result of his Navy training; but loved his family and Dana in particular. He was very upset that Scully decided to become an FBI agent, but was reconciled to it in the end. (Although he never articulated this to Dana, she understood that he was proud of her.) [see Beyond the Sea]

Momma ScullyMargaret 'Maggie' Scully: Scully's mom. A very supportive, religious woman with a spine of steel. It was she who gave Scully the ever present cross that she wears. She loves her daughter unconditionally and has a bit of a soft-spot for 'Fox' as well. The only time she's ever been really angry at Dana is when she kept the cancer diagnosis from her. [see Memento Mori] Dana gets her temper from her mom.

EmilyEmily Simm: Deceased. Scully's Daughter. While on Christmas vacation in San Diego, Scully received a strange call from someone who sounded exactly like her sister Melissa. When she investigated the caller's request, she is lead into the strange case of an apparent suicide. The resemblance between Emily and her sister at that age, caused Scully to become personally involved. Because of her tenacity, Scully discovered that Emily was actually her child. Unfortunately, Emily was a product of the cloning/hybrid experiment and her body chemistry was very unstable. She lapsed into a coma and died soon after. [see Christmas Carol / Emily]

BillWilliam 'Bill' Scully Jr.: Scully's overly protective big brother. He is in the Navy, like his father before him, and can be just as ridged as his father was. Sometimes he forgets that Dana is a grown woman, and tries to get his little sister to step back from her job. He doesn't care for Mulder or the fact that he's gotten Dana into too many dangerous situations.

MissyMelissa 'Missy' Scully: Deceased. Scully's older sister. Melissa was a free - spirit, who believed in many new age ideas. Although very different than Dana, they were close. It was she who encouraged her to join the FBI despite the disapproval of their father, and it was she who tried to help Dana recover her abduction memories, by referring her to a hypnotherapist. In her zeal to talk with her about the therapy session, she stumbled into a trap which was supposed to kill Scully. Although she held on in a coma for a few days, the bullet wound proved to be fatal. [see Anasazi/ The Blessing Way/ Paper Clip]

Charles Scully: Scully's younger brother. Not much is known about Charles, but it has been strongly implied that he too is in the Navy.

QueequegQueequeg: Deceased. Scully's pet Pomeranian. Given the dog by Mr. Bruckman, was named for the harpoonist in Moby Dick. Unfortunately, while on assignment at Lake Huevelman's, the pooch got away from Scully and was promptly eaten by an alligator. [see Quagmire]

The Lone GunmenThe Lone Gunmen: John Fitzgerald Byers, Ringo Langley and Melvin Frohike. Friends of Mulder's (read: paranoids) who have access to information which is not readily available. They are fairly well-connected when it comes to things technical and computereze. Frohike has a serious crush on Scully.

TeenaTeena Mulder: Deceased. Mulder's mother. Scully has had some limited contact with her partner's parent, once when it appeared that Mulder had died [see Anasazi/ The Blessing Way/ Paper Clip], and again when Mulder confronted her about who his real father was. [see Demons] It is strongly implied that Teena and C.S.M. had an affair. Because of a debilitating disease, Teena committed suicide in the episode Closure.

SamSamantha Mulder: Mulder's sister. Abducted in 1973, when she was only 8 years old. She was the reason Mulder became obssesed with finding the truth regarding alien abductions, and has indirectly led our dynamic duo together. If Chris Carter is to be believed, Sam is dead and Mulder discovered this in Closure.

SkinnerAD Walter S. Skinner: Scully's boss. Upstanding, moral, individual. Sometimes it's difficult to know where he stands. But, he's put himself on the line for both Mulder and Scully, going so far as to make a deal with C.S.M. to procure a cure for Scully's cancer. [see Zero Sum]

KershDeputy Director Alvin Kersh: Scully's boss when she was not assigned to the X-files (Sept 98- Feb 99). Stick up the butt, rules toting bureaucrat. It appears that he is only an ass, not evil. Promoted at the beginning of season eight, he is now AD Skinner's boss.

FolmerAD Brad Folmer: Kersh's yes man, Monica Reyes' former lover. The wild card of season nine. His allegiance is unclear. He really hasn't done anything to help the X-Files or it's agents, but he hasn't hindered them either.

PendrellAgent Sean Pendrell: Deceased. The tech-head Scully used to call on for information. He had a serious crush on our favorite red-head, but never had the nerve to ask her out. By a quirk of fate, Pendrell stepped between a witness Scully was guarding and an assassin's bullet thereby ending his life. [see Tempus Fugit/Max]

SpenderAgent Jeffrey Spender: Deceased? Annoying twerp who was trying to make a name for himself at the bureau, first seen in Patient X/ The Red and the Black. His father ( and assassin ) was C.S.M. and his mother was Cassandra, a supposed multiple abductee. At the beginning of season six, Spender and Fowely were assigned to the X-Files. After the events in Two Fathers / One Son, Agent Spender urged AD Kersh to re-assign Mulder and Scully to the X-Files. Although blood was found in the basement office, his body was never recovered.

FowleyAgent Diana Fowely: Deceased. Agent Mulder's former partner, girlfriend and perhaps ex-wife? She had a background in psychology and was there when Mulder discovered the X-Files. With her first appearance in The End one wonders how she ever passed the FBI's ridged qualifications. I thought it was supremely idiotic of her to stand in front of a hotel window, well backlit, when she suspected a sniper of targeting the room! Sheesh! Never the less, it seems that she and Spender were assigned to the X-Files, until Mulder and Scully were re-instated at the end of Two Fathers / One Son. It was her electronic ID card which garnered Scully's access to Mulder at the DoD in Amor Fati. She was mysteriously murdered soon after.

KrycekAlex Krycek: Deceased. Former FBI Special Agent, ex- partner of Mulder's, suspected killer and kidnapper. Alex was recruited by the syndicate and sent to keep an eye on Mulder when the X-Files were shut down [see Sleepless]. Even at this early stage, Scully didn't trust him. Was key in arrainging the abduction of Dana [see Duane Barry / Ascension] and is thought to be the killer of numerous individuals, one of them being Mulder's father [see Anasazi/ The Blessing Way/ Paper Clip.] With the rise of C.S.M.'s status, Alex had assumed the position of enforcer for the project and was keeping tabs on Skinner [see SR819.] There is a slim chance that Alex (along with Marita Covarrubias) did not succeed in killing CSM. Got his just desserts during Existence, when A. D. Skinner shot him.

C.S.M.Cigarette Smoking Man: Deceased? Also known as C.G.B. Spender. Father of Jeffrey Spender and perhaps Samantha Mulder or maybe even Fox [see Demons and Amor Fati]. One of the 'players' in the syndicate, he was until recently their main muscle man (excluding his brief time out of favor during season five) and entrusted with the execution of the Project. With the demise of most of the Elders, during Two Fathers / One Son, it appeared that he was in charge of the entire organization as well. Unceremoniously tossed down a set of stairs by Alex Krycek. Believed Dead.

Deep ThroatDeep Throat: Deceased. Mulder's first syndicate informant. Despite the danger to himself, Deep Throat frequently came out of hiding to give Mulder clues about the conspiracy surrounding the government and their involvement with extra- terrestrials. On at least one occasion he was sent to mislead Scully and Mulder. He was shot by other members of the syndicate in the Erlenmeyer Flask.

XMr. X: Deceased. Mulder's syndicate informant during seasons two and three. After Deep Throat's death, X began feeding information to Mulder. He wasn't as forthcoming nor was he as altruistic as his boss was. Although he didn't like to become personally involved, he did save Mulder's life [see 731] and died when he attempted to warn Mulder of a plot against his mother in Herrenvolk.

Marita Marita Covarrubias: Informant, syndicate member, assistant to the Special Representative to the Secretary General, test subject. After the death of Mr. X, Marita used her position at the UN to funnel information to Mulder regarding the project. Unfortunately, she got too close to one of the oilalliens and became infected [see Patient X/ The Red and the Black]. Her duplicity revealed, she was used by the consortium as a human guinea pig. With the decimation of most of the project leaders, CSM decided to allow Marita a second chance. This proved fatal, since she helped Alex Krycek dump him out of his wheelchair, down a flight of steps.
