Dear Gillian, Although I haven't been watching the X-Files since the beginning it's been a big part of my life for the past 5 years. This may seem crazy to most people, but I've found that there are many others out there who find the show fascinating due to a large part in your portrayal of Scully. There are those who scoff at the idea that Agent Scully could be a role model. It's true she has her faults, but the underpinning of the character is a strong, resilient, compassionate, tolerant, intelligent, loyal woman trying to do her best in the situations handed to her. TV needs more women like her. Through the X-Files, I have met and made many friends. My association with the OBSSE is a great source of pride. Not only can X-Philes be funny but they can be generous too. I've been happy to help with the Scullymarathons and look forward to continuing to help the sufferers of NF in any way that I can. I will miss the X-Files, but I'm profoundly grateful that you came into my living room every Sunday for the last five years. It's been an enlighting experience. Thank You and Best Wishes, |
